Hello. I have been on Exante for 2 days and coping fine during the day, a shake and bar and 3 litres of water however I have struggled at dinner time and had a small plate of food with my family, convincing myself it's OK then feeling horrible afterwards!! I have 4 stone to loose. Any ideas? I took the dog out last night whilst they were eating however came back and still had some food....... I look on here at all the success and really want to join the Club. Jo xx

Oh Jo It must be very hard for you, maybe you could explain to the family how important it is for you to lose the weight and go out with the dog for a little longer and ask them to try and have the food cleared away when you get back :(
Or maybe try WS and have a bit of chicken breast and some green veg each night so you feel less excluded.
Only other advice I have is if you feel hungry drink A LOT of water, sometimes help the empty sensation go away :)
    Hope you are doing OK

If you can, because I appreciate that everyones situation is different, until you are safely into ketosis and into the swing of the diet, if your OH can take over the cooking tea duties it would help. This is what I done, and now that I'm more confident I cook his and our nephew who stays with us tea just like normal x

Thanks again everyone - will make the most of the next couple if days he is on annual leave. Just feel such a failure when I give in - when I can get into ketosis I am sure it will be easier xxx

Oh hun it's hard when you have family I too have to cook for them. However, I have always cook, still do 6 months in only coz I love cooking and am damn well good at it, no wonder I put on so much weight lol..... OH on the other hand does whatever is simple lol, I also bake and stuff?. At the beginning of the diet it was "I want this more than anything", it helped.

If taking the dog out is the solution so be it and you get to exercise as well. It's hard but it works, just remember that when it gets tough!! X

I am odd as I quite like cooking for my other half.....it's the closest I am getting to food right now!
I have to say though, the smell from the fish and chips that he is devouring right now is making my mouth water but I am strong, I am strong, I am strong, I am strong, if I say it enough, I will convince myself! I really could just nab a chip off his plate but I have weigh in in a mo and my scales don't show a loss this week so I certainly don't want 1 chip to add to any disappointment!!!!

I think going out with the dog for longer sounds like a plan. If you come back and everything is cleared away, then all temptation is gone. I know it's never quite as clear cut as that because there is always food around us but I think dinner time is hard for some because we feel like we 'should' be eating which comes down to habit more than anything.

I quite often put the stuff in the slow cooker for the rest of the family in the morning (I feel so much stronger in the mornings than i do at nights). Then its up to them just to dish themselves a plate of food up.
Other than that I feed the rest of the family fish (I hate fish) although even thats starting to look tempting.

I went out on my bike today straight after dinner. I try to do that when I'm really tempted, it seems to give me time to think. After dinner is my worst time of being tempted as I clear the table away and everyone has left the room so there's nobody to tell me off! When wrapping up the bread to put it away for example I think "mmm bread and butter" then I look in the fridge when putting ketchup away pick up butter and find myself staring at the salad draw for salad to go in the bread and butter! I have to give myself a shake and put it back then I know it's time for my escape to ride my bike and leave hubby to do the rest. Im fine when cooking food but i hate watching people eat it. It's like they're teasing me lol I have to cook dinner and dish it up for 4 little boys every day :( it's hard some days and i really struggle. I miss joining them sometimes, having liquid meals while they eat roast dinners is painful. I love feeding everyone else, I also don't mind others talking about food or watching cooking programs. thats so strange.

    Xx
