Thailand bulge battle commences!!!

I'm doing a joint honours in childhood studies and early years, but need to do a conversion to psychology in my masters as I want to be a child psychologist/psychotherapist, I'm not sure which yet as the latter is very very expensive, but I find it fascinating.

Have a nice sleep. :) xx

Hello!!! How are you? Have you restarted the plan yet? Ive read on here sometimes it can be hard so good luck, how long are you doing s&s for? Oh my 2 weeks tomorrow until we go, I'm so excited :) xx

DAY 15!!

WOOOOOO last full week, gotta get shifting these lbs, and make the most of my last week :) My plan to swim everyday has started well, and just been for a swim, was just a little one to start with 20mins, but I'm quite fast so I make the time count. Also walked about 3 miles. Going to have to go to town now at 3, grr, my twins went to football camp today which is all this week and they were the only kids not in football strips so I feel like a rubbish mammy now as they looked a bit out of place, so I'll go get them some toon strips when they've finished, gonna be another 80quid probs argh! Also they never said ANYTHING about a packed lunch the only thing it said was bring a drink, then the guy calls me saying they don't have a lunch, no way mate, you haven't said once they needed one! double argh, so now my poor boys are the ones without football strips whose mam didn't give them lunch. eek. I feel really crap about it, as kids can be mean so I hope the other kids were nice to them. So need to get some lunch boxes and football strips now, expensive stuff this football camp as it was 80 just for them to go for the week!

Ok, enough of that.. food! didn't eat before my swim as I wanted to WI without having eaten.

9am white tea
10:30am tea w/milk allowance
1:15pm choc shake + 500 mls water
1:30pm cup of tea
4pm spag bol + 25g mushrooms + cup of tea
4:45pm 500mls water
5:15pm 80g salmon
6:15pm berry shake
8pm white tea
9pm leek, broccoli, mushroom, green beans steamed with a tiny bit soy and chilli flakes. + 500mls water

Exercise = lots of walking about 4 miles plus 20min swim. strength work (crunches, press ups) 60 crunches, I did 20 press ups yesterday so would like to beat that!

You're an inspiration charl!! Do you think you're finding it not to bad as you're only doing it for a certain length of time? I started and really struggled but started again today, going on holiday 5th sept so want 1.5-2 stone off before then. You think it's possible? X

Hello!!

Aww thanks! I'm kind of, of the opinion you should start this diet with a fixed time of when you'll stop. The NHS recommends 4-12 weeks for a vlcd, so I would possibly gauge it by how much you want to lose. I think I might be able to lose another 7lbs before holiday, but I'm going to work very hard in my refeed week with exercise to try and counter any water gains. Hopefully it'll work. I was only just over 30 on my BMI so even if I wasn't going away I would have only done this for 4 weeks to boost my weightloss into a lower range then try and lose any remaining with a mix of slimming world and cal counting. I think this is a great plan for people who have issues with portions and why they eat, I never had a bad diet I eat really healthily but by doing this now I totally understand my real hunger levels and definitely know more about portion control, it's so good for that. I'm happy i'm going on holiday having done this so I hopefully won't gain too much as I really get the difference between wanting food and needing it. So happy I did this even for just the 4 weeks ive learnt a lot, but I'm definitely not going to use it to get completely to target the last stone will be learning to balance cals in and out so I learn how to maintain it. As if I finally get to a 4stone loss there's no way I want it ever going back :)

Where are you going on your holidays? Are you excited??

Xx

You're so sensible!! I lost 2 1/2 stone in 11 weeks on slimming worl a couple of years ago but my weight has gradually crept back on. I weigh 15 stone (gulp) and am 5 ft 7 so pretty obese :-( most of my problem is emotional eating, don't eat a lot but eat all the wrong things :-( I'm actually having hypnotherapy to help me with my issues surrounding eating and I'm having a virtual gastric band fitted in my sessions tomorrow and Wednesday. I've no idea how this will go or whether it will work but I'm going to try as I feel awful about myself. I'm going to use this and S&S together to help me lose weight, hope it helps me. Anyway, sorry for going on!!

Going to Menorca with my husband and kids for a couple of weeks on 5th sept so will be nice. Have just been to new York and actually managed to lose weight through all the walking I did!!

How's your day going? X

Ah I'm the other way round, I just eat really well but way too much, portions of a 10foot man! haha, and I used to drink too much at weekends too, I stopped drinking apart from the odd weekend about 3 months ago and its really helped my losses I think.

Wow hypnotherapy, does it feel like its working? I think with any diet you kinda have to learn lessons about yourself as you go, I lost weight really slowly at first on SW due to the whole 'free' foods thing, but that doesn't work for me as it was actually really similar to my pre sw diet apart from I ate more choc pre SW. I realised I needed to watch my portions so started using the SW principles of Hex's and stuff but inputting everything on MFP I ate/drank/exercised and started to get regular good losses 1-2lbs per week, before that was loads of STS and maybe 1lb most. Then just did this as a boost for my holidays to try and feel better about myself for wearing summer clothes, but have learnt a lot about why and when I eat which I always struggled with, I'd have something on SW because I could not because I really need it, this has really taught me about true hunger, and I think when I stop I'm going to have so much more control both portions and not snacking just because its a superfree food, its still calories and its cals than make you gain weight, so fingers crossed I've learnt my lessons from this and its going to help me in the long run. I'm starting to exercise a lot more too, I honestly and truly think when you get to target you need to stay so so active, and never really give the diet up, its not a diet as much as realising whats good and bad and whats going to make you put weight on, I think it helps having kids as I always want to set a good example to them of diet and health, so I teach them about whats good for them and whats going to make them strong and always cook them dinners from scratch, even with takeaways we used to get chinese food most saturdays, but switched to Vietnamese as the food is a million times nicer, its not oily or greasy and you don't get that horrible bloat when you eat it. I'm just starting to really worry when I do my refeed and start eating normally or rather SW/CC again I'll put the weight back on (hopefully this is where the new found exercise love comes in and stops it!)

My god I'm sorry! I totally ramble, I'm so so bad for it!! SORRY!!

How old are your kids? Ah I've never been there, we are looking for a really nice all incl resort for october half term, I've never taken my boys away before so really excited and want somewhere nice (but cheap! ha!) oooooo NY! I really want to go there! Was it amazing?

Day was great thanks, really hectic just worked out I walked 4 miles and did a 20 min swim, so happy with that, haven't actually stopped until about half an hour ago! How was yours? xx

I think your approach to food is very healthy, I know what you mean about eating cos you could on Sw. I need to learn to enjoy healthy food!!
Will tell you more about the hypnotherapy when I've been today- its really hard to explain.
My kids are 5 and 3, don't you find the school holidays just Sooo expensive?? Gosh I do. It's want, want, want with them!!
Off to have my chocolate shake!! Have to eat not long after I get up or I feel sick. Have a great day x

God YES! my twins are 5, and they are at a football camp everyday this week, its cost so much! was 72 just for the camp, another 80 on kit! unreal, we went to the pictures last week, that cost a fortune as well. Had quite a few house days as I just can't afford to do stuff everyday! At least my food shopping bills have gone down a lot since I've been doing this, which is nice, been able to use loads of things from the freezer that wasn't quite enough for 4 person dinner, but 3 person dinner was ok, so last week was really cheap food wise (phew!) Just trying to alternate the days until this week so 1 day we'll go out, 1 day home pottering about. At least the football camp means they're out having fun everyday and its 10-3 so they're tired after.

Hows your day going? xx

I know, I'm doing the same- home day today, resisting temptation and feeling fine. Holiday club sounds good for your two! Everything so expensive, I'd love another child but we are just comfortable now and would really feel the pinch if we had a third :-(
Just about to have a vanilla shake made up hot with a spoonful of coffee in- a latte!! X

We're the same, it's hard as I live with my bf now who isn't the twins dad, and he wants some sprogs but he doesn't really get the financial implications. Going from 2-3 means bigger house, bigger car etc.. And i'd like to get married first as I'd like to do it the right way next time! Although Uni would be a good time to do it, as they cover child care and stuff so it's hard! Big decisions. Knowing me I'll work hard to lose this weight then get knocked up! Ha!

Well done for resisting temptation, i'm having a hungry day as I ate my 2nd pack to early so the stretch to dinner seems a long way! Xx

DAY 16!!

wwwwooooooooo, getting there, getting there! Going to do 1 day extra than the 3 full weeks, as I can fit in the refeed as my last day before hols. So hopefully that little 1 day extra could count for something, so I'll have my final WI on the 23rd day. I'm excited to see the scales next tuesday :) Made a little school girl error today of starting the day foodwise a bit early so now I'm more hungry than usual.

8:30-10am 2 cups of tea
10:20am 2 boiled eggs
11-1pm 2 cups of tea + choc praline bar (YUCK!!)
1pm 500mls water
