>>> The 2012 Six Stone Challenge Thread <<<

Oddly enough I was just drafting up the recipe for my site lol!

Stats:

Whole Cake: 15 syns
Serves 6 (2.5 syns per slice)
(10 if using Scan Bran as a Healthy Extra B Choice) *

Ingredients:

  • 5 Scan Bran
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 sachets Options Belgian Chocolate
  • 1/2 cup of Sweetener (Splenda works well)
  • 1 Curly Wurly
Method:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 °C, and line a suitable cake tin (I like using loaf tins for scan bran cake. Not sure why, they just seem to work well)
  2. Soften the scan bran using a little hot water, and mash with a fork.
  3. Beat the eggs and add to the mixture, along with the Options Chocolate and Sweetener.
  4. Mix into a gloopy batter!
  5. Chop up the Curly Wurly and stir in to the batter.
  6. Add the mixture to the lined tin and pop in the oven for about 30 minutes, or until firm and springy to the touch.
  7. Set the tin aside and leave to cool a little, before turning out on a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Slice into 6 portions.

* Syns listed are for all plans (Red, Green & Extra Easy). Using the Scan Bran as a Healthy Extra would involve eating the whole cake. . . which whilst easily doable is probably not advisable!

Unfortunately, my gym buddy can't go this evening and I'm still too new to want to go by myself lol so I won't be going tonight.

Today's food has been pretty good!

Breakfast: 1 slice wholemeal toast with flora light (2 syns) and a banana (sf 1)

Snack: Apple (sf 2)

Lunch: 2 egg ommelette with some mozzarella (HEXA) and salad with cous cous, finely chopped carrot, red onion and salad leaves, with light mayo (2 syns) (sf 3, 4 and 5)

No idea what to do for dinner, but since we had pasta yesterday, I think I'll go for some potatoes today. Maybe with a chicken breast covered in chicken stock and pepper, with turnip and some frozen mixed veg. Which will be sf 6, 7, 8 and 9 lol

And later on I'm planning another Muller light and a Hi-fi bar (3 syns since I split my HEXB), and pack of low fat crisps (5 syns)

Which will leave me with 3 syns if I fancy an options hot choc... mmmm

Way to go on the SF Mandy!

Ahhh mandy so pleased your loving the gym!! :) I loveeee going once I'm there. Apparently I'm entitled to free gym membership while I'm working there so going to enquire.. although ours isntas lovely as yours sounds!!

I think its far better to do each piece of equipment rather than stick to one as it'll work the whole body rather than just one. I know what you mean about the cross trainer, they take some getting used too!

Didn't see the ex. I just called him and said if you want to see our lad tomorrow is fine and originally he said 9-5.30 but bit by bit its slowly decreased to 11am-3.30 ! But atkeast he is seeing him and I can have a couple hours peace. Going to hit the gym/go for a run then wash my hair, shellac my nails and pick my boy up all dolled up. Ex said to me on the phone are you still on that silky diet, when will you realise you'll always be big. Sooo watch me wiggle my way down the drive way pick up our boy and leave tomorrow afternoon!! :) hehe.

Been shopping this morning.. the.novelty of going shopping and buying a pair of jeans and 4 tops all for £23 and not needing to try them on will never wear off. It's fab :) :)

Right I'm off to have an hours sleep before the fun and games of working tonight starts.

Had an alpen bar before school run and just had 2 poached eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms and it was lovely. I had a slice of white weight watchers danish bread, what's the syns for that? Is it 3 like the brown ww bread?

Everyone tonight at work is ordering Chinese but fortunately I don't fancy it anyway so going to nibble on raspberries and water.

Oooooh.. do you remember i was saying how bad my skin was and I was surprised as the diet should be helping ?? Well after 10 days of using boots cleanse sensitive wipes and moisturising my skins actually almost glowing. Sooo if anyone else has the same problem I'd really recommend boots own range sensitive cleanse / tone range. Amazing! Id put up before and after but they're gross haha. Trust me :) just thought id share it as I know what a knock it is when your eating right but your body and skin isn't showing it.

Get free gym membership? Go for it girlie and make good use of it! :giggle:

Ex is an idiot. You know that, everyone knows that.. You just concentrate on losing weight and let him say whatever he wants to. You can lose weight, he on the other hand will never be able to get rid of a horrible personality!

Thanks for the tip about the skin stuff- my forehead is never clear so will go and buy some! And show us the pictures! I wanna see!

Well that was a massive blip wasn't it!! Haven't been on plan for nearly a month!!! But.....went back to the gym on Tuesday and have managed to get there every morning this week, feel so much better for it, really energised during the day and nicely relaxed at night. Have been back on plan this week too but not being overly strict, a few G and T's with the girls on Wednesday and a piece of birthday cake on Thursday. Have decided not to go to group anymore and save the money to pay for my gym membership, I am able to get a cheap rate at the college were I work. My WI is going to be at the gym on a Friday which allows me to have a social day or two at the weekend and gives me a week to rectify any over syning of I need to, well this week the scale say 15.12 and a half lb, so a gain of 4lb in the last four weeks, could of been worse and if I'm careful I can lose that in the next couple of weeks. I must admit before my holiday I was become a little dissillutioned with the thread, there seemed to be alot of rather negative and judgemental comments being made which saddened me greatly as I had found this thread a source of great support, reading through the thread I see that others had felt the same....so lets hope we can move on and continue to be fabulous, positive and caring of each others feelings......yes I am an unabashed hippy dippy love and lighter....but I don't care!!..much love xx

Hello darling :hug99: so good to see you back, and don't leave us again ok?! That's an order! Hehe

Thanks Kenco.. she's perked up a bit since this morning, so I decided to go for a cycle with her in her trailer. My Lord she's a heavy one to tote around lol. 3 stone of baby plus 2 stone of trailer, plus 15 stone of me... that bike is an absolute miracle to haul all that around :p

Fatbegone... fortunately, my skin has never been very prone to spots or anything. I don't even use a moisturiser lol Enjoy your few hours to yourself!

PD... so glad you're back, and back on plan. So you had a blip, and put on some poundage. So what?! You're back at it now and you'll lose that in no time. I agree with you on the negativity... I love this thread and find it's one of only 2 or 3 places I'd actually go to for advice/commiserations/kick up the bum.

Joanne! Well done on the 1st 9.5lb! Go you!

You're on a roll Mandy! SF sorted and exercising.. That's brill! Well done Hun.. You are definitely in for a decent loss this week x

 What and utter Tw@!!!! (Excuse my french but... I mean... COME ON!)

I'd have decked him personally love, bloody pratt.

You are beautiful, confident, sexy, and truly wiggle worthy. Don't listen to a word - you can do this! Heck, you ARE doing it! Screw him! :D

Glad to see you back peacedove :)

I've been away a lot longer than you, so I haven't seen any negativity as such, and don't really fancy going looking for it :/

Glad to see lots of positivity in this here thread. Big group hug people!

Big hug everyone!!, :hug99:

And one more thing- thank you or what you said Mandy about this thread.. It really made me smile :))))))

Thankyou to you that have made comments about yesterday!! The good side of it, I am more determined to lose more weight so I can pull a supermodel!! lol
That is me joking but she has made me determined to lose a lot more weight, so she can regret it in 4 months time when I get my driving license back and I am a slim bloke again (I must have been slim as a baby) lol
Not expecting that much loss though this weekend, 2 nights with beer in a row as went out with my stepdad last night for a couple of pints as it was his birthday and a few more in Chesterfield town centre tonight with my mates!!
Hope everyone is going to have a good weekend!!

The stress bomb has landed!!!!!! Help!

So ok, this is going to take some explaining. I work for a Private Ambulance firm, and we have a crew stationed at a not-so-local hospital 2 hours away. I'm covering the phones for my father this weekend, as we tend to cycle between me, my dad (director) and my brother. I received a phonecall half an hour ago which I couldn't return right away because I was just putting my daughter to bed. I phoned it back five minutes later and it was the head of controls at the hospital. She was sitting int he office with my crew, who had BROKEN DOWN (brake failure) and still had three patients to go.

She informed me that she'd arranged alternative transport for the patients, but that my crew members were stuck with no way to get back. (We STILL don't have a corporate breakdown service for out of hours, despite me nagging dad about it for the last six months) I asked her to hang fire whilst I phoned around and found some alternative transport back for them.

PANIC TIME.

I then phoned my dad (out of signal) and panicked some more.

Then I decided to phone the other crew (one of whom is my husband) and ask them so so kindly (through a mist of tears) if they could take time after their TWELVE HOUR SHIFT to go TWO HOURS out of their way home to pick up their fellow crew, and bring them home. My husband, being the angel that he is, agreed.

So I phone the crew back. The guy who answers isn't the best with words, so it takes me a while to discover that there is still a problem with the three patients we were meant to transport. I have to phone control back on their line, as the calls are recorded blah blah blah. ***** face tells me that because the patients were on our list for the day, and we can't complete the transport, we are in breach of our CONTRACT (even though there is no formal contract in place, only a standard agreement) and will be liable for paying the costs of the NHS crew to cover (apparently upwards of £3000 for three patients, even though we only charge the hospital £450 PER DAY for any amount of patients they can throw at us)

Panic Panic Panic

I throw a wobbly (off the phone of course. professionalism dont you know *rolls eyes*) and have another quarter hour of phone calls (most of which while writing this post)

am now sat on my own in my living room waiting five or more hours for hubby to get home, before i have to tell him that he and his crewmate are going to be picking up the pieces (transporting the three patients) tomorrow morning, after he's just gone to pick them up. All this on a weekend where he wasn't even meant to be working.

I'm so fricking tempted to raid the fridge, freezer, whatever right now. There's a tub of low fat icecream there....... it's only a few syns a scoop but i dont think i could apply that to a whole tub.

please stop me. ranting helps but im so upset now i can barely function. i feel useless and hopeless at my job, pathetic creature that i am....

hellsbells, if i go on any more ill sound like an emo kid so i'll stop. sorry folks, i just needed someone to listen, read, ignore, whatever really...

Don't do it! It's not worth it hun... not at all. I know it's very tempting to sit down and have a pity party and stuff your face, but you'll feel so much worse after. You'll still have the stress of the day, plus the guilt of a binge! Step away from the ice-cream!!!!!

I've had a great day for sf!

Had banana with breakfast, apple after, salad leaves, carrot and red onion with lunch, another apple, and then had turnip, carrot, cauliflower and brocolli with dinner.

10 sf!
I'm a good girl. Feels so great to be back in control and on plan. I'm so regretting those two weeks off plan.

Thanks hun, I know you're right, of course. It's so bloody hard to resist though. The last thing I feel like doing right now is standing in the kitchen chopping up veg for supper. And I'll be eating alone too... which I always hate. Sigh.

I have got scan bran cake but... it's just not ben and jerrys, is it? ;)

Take out your frustration on the veg.. chop that sh1t up haha

It's very hard to purposefully deny yourself something you'd like, especially when it's something you already HAVE in the house... If it were me, I'd throw it out. Run the hot tap on it, melt it all and watch it run down the sink....all the while telling yourself that you didn't really want it, you just thought you did.

you know what.... i might just do that. that sounds like it would feel really good.

......................

i'll brb

Mind your fingers, for the love of God!!

Melt the ice cream!!! And don't eat bad. Just because life has thrown you an obstacle doesn't mean that you will sabotage your weight loss! You are a professional, beautiful and intelligent woman. You DO NOT NEED FOOD TO MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER.

((hugs)) seriously like Mandy said- its not going to make u feel any better so just go lie down, put some music on and chill. And don't worry, life will always throw a wobbler.. But you will get through this.

We are here for u xxx

I couldn't walk for ten minutes without hobbling like a moron all night cos of my knees. The good news is that when you drop a stone or two your joints will feel the better for it. My knees never EVER pain me anymore!

Evening all. Well after a few weeks off plan I am starting again on Monday. I am going to plan all my meals for the week 2moro and do the shopping :).
