Marmite stew is a basic tomatoe based soya chunk stew with a huge dollop go marmite in it.

I'm not a great marmite lover - I like it occasionally but read about this and thought I'd give it a try. It definitely added a certain something!

I LOVE marmite so this sounds awesome to me! Do you have a recipe you could share?
 
Gosh I just make these things up..

1 onion

Veggies of choice - I used courgette and mushroom

Soya chunks

Veggie stock powder - just a sprinkle

Passata or chunky tinned toms

2 tbspn marmite

Pre boil soya chunks

Fry lite onion and rest of veg - don't over cook

Add passata and soya chunks

Add seasoning

Add marmite

Simmer to thicken sauce

I hope this helps - it is all just thrown together...
 
Yep, that does help - thank you! That's going on my things to make list, would never have thought of using marmite like that :)

I know what you mean though, I just kind of throw recipes together as well quite often and end up looking a bit blank when I get asked for a recipe lol
 
Today my exercise was swimming with my precious pups.

Breakfast

Cheese, onion and mushroom omlette HEA

Lunch

Stir fry cabbage, mange toute and quorn pepper steak with soy sauce and lime juice

Jelly and vanilla quark

Dinner

Paste HEB x 2 plus asparagus, tomatoes with garlic and oregano

Topped with Parmesan HEA

Banoffee yoghurt with banana and meringue 2.5 syns

Total syns 2.5

Yesterday I had 3 pints of lager and 1 large glass of wine. I knew it was going to happen so had planned for it by being careful with my syns. Fortunately at the BBQ I had WW petit pain with REd onion sausages with fry lite onions. My only vice - food wise - was some red sauce. So not too bad.


I managed to make some syn free jelly - finally. I used one sachet of Asda vegetarian gelatine mixed with WW plum and raspberry sugar free squash. The sachet said it made 1 pint but that didn't work so I made about 600 ml. And added in some berries.

Very filling and tasted luverly!

Lunch

Home made cream of tomato and basil soup (passata, onion, basil and f/f from age frais)

Melon, nectarine and peaches

Dinner

Home made Asda meat free chicken korma with mushrooms and onion.

Home made free jelly with berries plus full cream Cornish ice cream 6 syns

Nom nom nom

I feel I've eaten very well today!

And I've not even had one egg...

Sausage cobs! Now that's just decadence :D Those WW breads are amazing, need to buy more!

Lol - yes, must admit it doesn't feel right but I'm enjoying it....

It's my most recent obsession as the WW cream has worn off a bit.

Had a freddo moment b4 bed so up to 12.5 syns for the day.
 
It's funny how you end up with these little obsessions lol ;) I went through an ice cream sandwich phase, now on to Curly Wurlys! Those WW breads are keepers though, I love them for makings garlic bread, so nice with a spag bol.
 
Not a very good day. Last day at work and there was cake & chocolates..

2 x WW petit pain with quorn ham, tomato and a sprinkle of mustard powder HEB x2

Kiwis, melon, pineapple, grapes, blueberries (in one of those Pre package thingies)

Dinner

Lots of salad with pickled onion and pickled cabbage with 60g cheese grated on top HEA X 2 & light salad cream 2 syns

Asda free blueberry yoghurt with blueberries and f/f fromage

SnaX - oranges, peach.

Syns

Cake - just a couple of slivers 6 syns

1 thorntons and 1 roses chocolate 2 syns each?

So 13 syns - approximately.
 
Oh and I forgot the Italian Spag Bol crisps my little bro brought from Thailand

At least another 5 syns....

So total of 18. Whoops.

Am I eating too much fruit????

Total syns 11 syns

Tomorrow is pink wine day - whoop whoop!
