Tuesday Weighers

Broken Mirrors I was in exactly the same boat!

I've lost 7lbs this week which I'm really pleased with.

You guys are all amazing. Thanks for the support. I don't even want to update my stats because I can't see months of work undone. Instead I am going to plug away silently until those stats belong to me again! Ha! What denial?

Aww bm, don't worry about it too much and just focus on getting it off again :) why not try a few days of sp?

I'm kicking my back side into being more active here again! I'm letting things slide and I shouldn't. I'm getting away with it but I know it will soon kick me up the back side! Had pizza with cheesy crust for new years! Worked really hard for the rest of the week though..

We can all do this! 2015 will be our year! :)

The thing is, we're all human right? The main thing is that you're back and not giving up forever. I stay away from the forum when I put on weight but I know it makes no sense really. It's nice to come on and get the 'well dones' but it's more important to be here to get support when you're struggling (or just having a big blow out - which is what I did) I think.

Onwards and downwards BM. It's a marathon not a sprint x

Hi all, I'm new. Started with Slimming World today - but started kind of following the plan from Saturday. I will be weighing in on Tuesdays (shifts permitting - sometimes I have to work late) and have a grand total of 48 lb to lose. Reckon I will be around for a while and looking forward to getting to know you all. Helen.x

Hi all,

I've been AWOL for a while now :missing:, since my big 5lbs gain.

Things have been pretty full on over Christmas and I went to Budapest for New Year.

When I went to weigh in yesterday there was a half pound loss over the previous weigh in.

Only 4 and a half more to get back to where I was.:devilangel:

It really is a result as while I was not too naughty over Christmas, I drank an Awful lot of cocktails in Hungry. Were it not for a hell of a lot of walking I expect that I would have come back as a ball!

Picked up my new pack tonight and have no idea whether I will stick with the old EE or work with this new one. I shall read the book over the week while continuing with the old EE as I was meant to do it.

Other news was that on Monday I had my first exercise on prescription session in the local leisure centre. Tuesday my muscles showed no sign of distress though, having fallen to sleep and waking up in my bucket chair, I now have aching thighs from my first 10 minute session on a cross trainer. I have my next session on Thursday and hope to get the weight loss back in a more impressive gear.

Gratz to everyone on losses and STS during my absence.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! and may there be less of all of us by the next new year.

Kind regards,
Ian

Thanks for the advice everyone. Welcome back Ian!

What do you all think of SP? My consultant isn't much of a fan, she said it's very strict and has caused gains in a few people. Personally I am sticking with the new EE. It seems ok although with eating out syns gone up I think socialising might be a bit more difficult. Having a read through syns for branded snacks, it seems the 20 calories per syn guideline no longer applies! That's a shame because it really helps me make decisions in a hurry.

I couldn't do SP for more than a day or two at a time. I'd fall off the wagon completely. One of the reasons I've liked EE is that I can cook family meals and we can all eat the same and I would really, really miss pasta, rice and potatoes. I try to limit them to once a day but it's nice to know that if I want to I can have pasta for lunch and potatoes for dinner!

A lady at my group last night had done it for a whole week but she said it made her miserable.

I think I'm going to see how it makes me feel today to see if I can do it :) I kinda wanna do it all week but if it makes you depressed doing it every day then I shall go for every other day, lol.

I can't really do low carb in general, I get awful headaches. I would also be afraid if I hated it or was hungry and miserable I would go on a massive binge. A lot of people are replacing potato with turnip/swede or cauliflower but those are 2 of my least favourite veggies :p

On the flip side, my consultant said one consultant lost a stone in a week on it. It's tempting for that reason, but that's going into the realms of crash dieting as far as I am concerned and I would prefer a slower, sustainable loss on EE. Even now, after a 9.5 pound gain, when I am DESPERATE.

Hi everyone, I was off yesterday so only catching up on the two full pages of posts here and firstly I have to say it is great to see BrokenMirrors and Meloncollie back, I had missed both of ye.

BrokenMirrors, I'm in total amazement with you, well done for coming back and realising you can get back on plan and be focused and I sense your in the zone already, I dont think I would have the same willpower as you. MelonCollie, I'm totally with you on this new plan, I love my sw chips too much to even give them up for 1 day so I'm sticking with the new EE plan too, one thing I want to do more is scrambled eggs (made with a tiny drop of skimmed milk and no butter of course).

Myself, I got my 7st award Christmas week and the last two weeks (yesterday and the week before) I gained 2.5Ibs and 1Ib respectively. I was totally off plan one day last Thursday but was totally in plan for the rest of the week and I can't understand how I actually gained but hopefully I will have lost all the two gains and a lot more next week as I have a 50th birthday Friday week and I will have a few drinks so I'm going to try and limit the damage that day

2015 is the year I reach target and I ain't taking no for an answer

I'm off to Edinburgh in 3 weeks and have a wedding the week after so I want this gain BLITZED in the next 3 weeks. I am so in the zone!

Funny you should mention scrambled eggs Orla, I had them for breakfast this morning with beans, a heap of mushrooms and a broghie (usually have cereal or porridge).

2015 will have to be the year of reaching target because I am getting mine! :) It's my birthday at the start of July so ideally I would love to have it before then.

I might try a SP day on the Saturday, will have to have meals ready for this but maybe I can do that and take the edge away off the party on the Friday

Laura, I can see you are so determined and no doubt you will have blitzed that gain. Edinburgh is full of hills so get the old body magic going, I remember going there and I was in WW at the time and I came back and I had lost 6.5Ibs

My birthday is in the middle of August so I'm hoping to have it well and truly done by then hopefully

I absolutely love Edinburgh so I am planning on doing a lot of walking. I might do SP days that week before I go, and then do my best to stick to EE while there (though it will be difficult with constant eating in restaurants). I've tried to research SW friendly restaurants in Edinburgh but no luck so far. If I get a STS that week, I would be happy enough. I definitely couldn't do SP after a party though, when I am tired or have had a few drinks all I want is CARBS! :)

I bet you both will reach your targets for this year! :)

I want to lose 7st by May for when I surprise visit my mum. That's another stone and 5lbs to go so easily achievable if I don't cheat at all :)
Would be nice to have lost 10 by my birthday (4 stone 5 lbs) but that's a bigger number and I don't want to pressure myself. Birthday is end of July. (29 WI's until then. 18 WI's until surprise visit) so for 7st I need to lose on average a pound a week, with birthday on average 2.5 needed off a week... I don't think I'll make that one actually lol.

I just do each week as it comes and hope for the best

When I joined almost 2 years ago I never thought of the end result, I knew I had a figure of 12st to reach for target but deep down I knew I would go less than that but I always made little goals and I think I have accomplished them all at this stage and I have started to reach my big targets and only have 2 remaining
