Tummy Tuck & Boob Uplift Diary

Hi All, it's good to be back.
I'm now 4 days post op and doing ok. Here's the low down:
Arrived at Bupa at 12 o'clock last Thurs as requested. I was shown to my room and saw the nurse about 20mins later for last details. The consultant then came to see me, drew all over tummy & boobs and showed me where my nipples would end up - omg a good two inches higher than they were, saggy or what

He told me that I would probably be first into surgery & would be in shortly. This didn't quite work out, I eventually walked to theatre about 4.15 and was put to sleep at 4.30pm. I was very calm for some weird reason

& joking about with the theatre nurses.
Anyway, next thing I knew it was 7.10pm, I was in recovery & in bloody agaony. My boobs and stomach were killing me but a good shot of morphine soon sorted that out. Felt quite sick so was also given a blast of anti-sickness (might as well have the drugs available

).
Back in my room, I rang my hubby to tell him I was back but he was already almost back at the hospital. I had to have 3 nurses to help me sit up enough for them to be able to put my sports bra on - absolute agony. The sports bra & the binder together with the lovely socks - what a sight

Anyway, was pretty groggy that night with the morphine. I also had a PCA, you know the morphine through a driver that you can operate yourself, brill.
Was dying for a wee at midnight but after 30mins on a bedpan with the tap running in the bathroom, I still couldn't go. The nurse said to try not to worry about it and try again later. I left it & ate my prawn sandwiches, nice cup of coffee & some more groggy making pain killers

2am & I was desperate for a wee, this bedpan lark is the most unnatural position in the world for having a pee

I sat on it for nearly 45mins, eventually success, hurrah.
By 6am I needed a wee again!!! I'd been drinking so much water due to a dry mouth from the anaesthetic. This time the nurse suggested getting up to the toilet. I was sh...ing myself. This was less than 12 hrs after surgery and boobs & tummy were trussed up like a chicken

Anyway, I gradually got up with the help of the brill bed and the nurse & went to the loo - it was only about 6 steps from my bed but felt like I'd done a marathon by time I got back. Really woozy but it was great to sit on a toilet!!!
I've had a few problems with really large blisters forming around the edge of dressings. On Fri they had to remove all the foam dressings as two 3inch blisters had formed. This meant taking off all the dressings, which was great cos I could see what had been done. Well pleased, so is hubby & my step daughter was there & really impressed too.
The blisters have coninued to cause me problems though as they have oviously burst & then have become stuck to the binder and mepore or underwear & I was in agony this morning.
Anyway it's great to be home & have had 2 nights in my own bed (on my own of course, hubby is banned

).
As soon as i can I'll get some photos on here. My boobs have never been where they are now

And even my teenage boys can't believe how flat my stomach is.
Obviously lots of healing up to go yet but it's not so bad. I'm managing during the day with just paracetamol & ibuprofen and only using stronger painkillers at night - not for increased pain but just to try to help me sleep better really.
I'm really tired most of the time but that's to be expected, just terrible being waited on & lying around reading & watching tv. Have been & done the shopping today in tesco - ONLINE though:party0011:. I'm pottering around but not able to do anything. Walking like an 80yr old woman as can't straighten out for a while, and looking like a freak with the awful socks still on and the binder which is driving me crazy & makes me so hot. But nevermind, can't wait to have my appointment with the nurse at BUPA on Thurs as she will take off the remaining dressings and I'll be able to see what's been done properly.
Will post again soon, better go & lie down again now.

Thanks for all the messages of support :thankyou:

It's all been worth it!!!!

Im so glad you think Its all been worth it. Blisters dont sound too good but im sure its a small price to pay for perky boobs and a flat tum.

Make the most of being waited on. As a wife and mum we're so busy looking after everyone else so let them treat you for a while.

Keep us posted on your progress. I for one would love to have a boob lift and tummy tuck when I have lost the rest of my weight so its great to hear your first hand experiences.

Great to see you back and posting! Also great to hear you're chuffed with the results so far and while I hope your blisters go down soon, you sound really up and positive. Keep us posted, and enjoy being waited on hnd and foot by the family - I'm sure you've earned every minute of it! xx

Well done - you sound like you are doing really well. Take it easy and rest whilst enjoying the fuss, they will soon be after you to get in the kitchen!

Glad to hear you're home and as well as can be expected. A boob job is definately on my wish list, so it'll be good to hear how it all works out.

I dared to 'try' a bikini on over the wkend because my lovely oh has booked up a holiday abroad next week ~ the bottom half is passable, but my boobs have headed well and truely south ~ more like two deflated balloons ~ too much excess skin and not enough stuffing :rotflmao:

lol you sound like you have my boobs..................

Hi Again Wow you sound like you are doing so well, fab to hear. I know you have had some horrid blisters and pain, but compaired to Ice Moose tummy tuck dairy, your home already and it sound like you are in less pain, which is great for you. You've had me measuring my boobs, I think my nipples could do with moving about 4 inch...... ohhhh myyyy godddd, did I just type that.... lol well may be 3....
Hope you feel a little better each day and I agree make the most of the rest, get a little bell to ring for room service, I am sure your family will love that.......

Any I am going to be really really rude now, totally ignore me I won't mind a bit, but how much was it. If you don't have to much trouble with your tummy tuck or boobs, I would think again about having both, but Ice Moose put me of the tummy tuck. Did you have impants as well or just the up lift....

Speedy hugs sent to you for a fast recovery...

Luv Chitty.....

Glad to hear you're home, when my friend had her TT some years back she was home on the 3rd day. It sounds like you are doing really well, i'll certainly will be glued to this post (as i was with mikes) as i have decided to go ahead with a TT myself next year in Malaysia. Just in the process of getting references from two surgeons in this country (who does private plastic surgery in wales with bupa & work for the NHS) who know & have worked with the Malaysian surgeon i intend to use.

Wishing you a speedy recovery, can't wait for your next post!.....xxx

So glad you are home and sound like you are doing well... I can't wait to see piccies and hear all about it once you are feeling a bit better...Love

Happy to hear all is going well for u.

Chitty I don't think you're being rude at all. I paid £8416 for the two op's together. The tummy tuck on it's own would've been £5150. It's cheaper to have 2 procedures done together for obvious reasons. I didn't have implants, just an uplift. Uplifts leave greater scarring than implants alone but I wanted rid of excess skin not bigger boobs and I just took the advice of my consultant who is a breast care specialist.
I've got another patch of skin that's sticking to everything now - another burst blister. These aren't as bad as they sound though because they aren't on any wounds, quite the opposite they are at the outer edges of where dressings have been. I got so frustated trying to get my bra off without pulling it away from the skin (cos it was stuck to it, too much info I know) I grabbed a pair of sciccors & cut the bra off :p. Anyway I've now got a dry dressing over that patch & one on a patch on my belly, the 2 others patches at the top of each thigh are dry and healing so hopefully I can leave things as they are now til I see the nurse at Bupa on Thurs. It does all mean that I still have n't had a shower!!! You try washing & shaving your armpits over the kitcjen sink without getting your boobs wet :superwoman:

So now I'm sitting here in my sexy corset and gorgeous sports bra feeling like a chicken ready for the oven .

Sleep wasn't too bad last night but I did cheat a bit, I thought I deserved a glass of wine or two & drank the bottle :party0036:eek:ops!

I will have a go at putting pictures on here today, I've got before photos (not to be viewed if you've just eaten) and after photos which were taken 24hrs post op when all the dressings had to be removed. So don't look if you're squeamish ;)

You sound like you are doing so very very well. Really inspiring to read about it. And yes can just imagin how hard to look after yourself. Thanks for the info on price, may just opt for the boobs, didn't want to go more than £5-6000 really as that is all I can afford, but not for a year... so I will have to wait............

Bloody hell, your brave putting on you picutres, but they will be so interesting as it is great to see what can be done.

Good luck, hope you enjoyed the wine, you deserve it honey.

Luv Chitty...

WOW!! Just saw your before and after op photos, I am so impressed, your tummy looks so flat! I know I will need a TT and possible uplift at the end of my journey and seeing your pictures has impressed me so much!
You look fabulous dahling!!!!!!:D

I want one!!! Anyone got about 10 grand to spare so I can have this done and some implants instead of an uplift too. hehe. Seriously though after years of yoyo dieting and 3 enormous nearly 10 pound babies I am definately gonna need a tummy tuck at the end of my journey to slimness. A big well done and best wishes to you pompeyfan. The new tummy looks fantastic. Best wishes with your recovery and take it easy.

Dawn xx

And Wow again, I've just seen and Wow what a difference. That is remarkable.... They have done a top class job. You must be so thrilled. Looks like you will have gone down a dress size.

Wow...... here to you for a fast recovery.
