Crumble yogurt ~ 0.5 syns
Skinny cow dipper ~ 3 syns

Chicken (no skin)
cue/tom/lettuce/sp onions
cress/gherkins
8 black olives ~ 1 syn
Balsamic vinegar

watermelon

Plaice~
bread & butter ~HXB 2 syns
mushrooms/toms

Lrg iced coffee ~ 2x HXA
1 tsp sugar ~ 1 syn

= 2x HXA, 1x HXB + 7.5 syns

7.5/105 syns

Still haven't had a chance to analyse my eating plans last week but will have a shifty later. ;)

Mum immediately on hearing about my gain stated the scales had to be faulty. (mums are the best :p)
Quickly retracted it tho when DS2 announced he was 1.75lbs down this morning.

Interesting about the extracts. Knew that flavouring etc where free but didn't realise extract wasn't. Better watch that.

I've a feeling that I'm going to need to buy quark by the truck load. :D

Don't have ramekin dishes but we'd decided to buy some this weekend as I keep seeing recipes that need them. Was eyeing up the Cherry pies in the Aug SW mag which use them. Look scrummy.

I know we need to drink water. I used to sort of understand why, there was a link somewhere that explained how it effects weightloss. Cant remember it now.

So... Why? I hardly drink at all during the day. Find it hard. Maybe 3-4 drinks a day including my iced coffee.
Should I be giving this area more attention? :hmm:

I personally think you should be definitely giving the water factor another look...are you drinking water while exercising? it's very important..I drink 6-8 glasses of water a day, 1 coffee first thing and the odd tea but that's rare and even rarer the odd diet soda ..gl hun ...you're doing great,
If you like those recipes wait and see what I have coming woohoo lol xx

Hi Crumble,

There seems to be something in the air this week, I've seen a lot of people posting that they've had a gain this week and not knowing why...including myself! I think all we can do is accept it as a little blip, sweep it under the carpet and move on. I'm drawing a line under mine and sticking to plan, hoping to see it balance itself out later :)

This is a big step for me, normally I would've just given up and binged on junk as comfort food, but this time I'm going to do it, you can too :D

Good luck! x

Hi Crumble,

I had the same thing happen to me but it was 3lb! :-( I swear, I was good as gold!

I put mine down to too many Green days, so I now try to have more Red.

Chin up... Your doing fab! Here's to a super duper loss next week! :) xxx

Hmmm shall I give you the recipe for the LMP's ....????
Lol sorry got my nasty head on, yes of course I will...a small tip it says to bake them in the oven for 10 mins before putting the meringue on and baking....I would suggest maybe 12 or 13 mins ...I have a fan assisted oven and they were still too gloopy for my liking, but by the time I said oh put them back in for another couple of mins my DD2 had already put the meringue on 2 of them ....so I let her continue, so here we are hun, they are simple to make and lovely yum yum xx
Oh and before I forget I found some amazing recipes last night will share a bit later but one is for a syn free cheese sauce (cheese to be taken as Hexa obviously)..I can't wait to try it lol...anyway Recipe LMP's as below

300 gms quark
1 lemon, grated rind and juice
3 medium eggs separated
4 tbsps splenda or canderel

----------------------------------------------------------------

Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4
Beat the quark in a bowl to make it smooth and creamy, add the lemon rind and juice, egg yolks and 2 tbsps splenda/canderel.
Share between 4 ramekins. Stand them on a baking sheet and bake for 10 mins.
Whisk the egg whites until they form peaks, whisk in the remaining sweetener.
Remove desserts from oven and pile the meringue on top.
Return to the oven for another 5 mins or until golden brown.
Serve chilled.

I have to ask.... What does LMP stand for??

They sound dam good whatever they are, I will definately be trying the recipe!

I had Eton mess at weekend, with quark mixed with White choc options! Sooo Yummy!!

Think Quark will become my new friend!! LOL X

Don't you hold out on me, Lily! We need everything you've got to keep us on the straight and narrow.

Final - if you've read my first post you'll know that wandering off disillusioned and jumping face down into a pile of cake was my trick too when the going got tough. Its not just disheartening its bloomin' embarrassing.
But you're all right, we'll beat this. :D

Interesting that you should make the connection with green days, Sugarplum.
I've been coming to a similar conclusion.
When I did SW last year I noticed much slower loss when I did green and one week when I had a 3lb gain when I'd been lunching on Lentil soup all week.

Now my Lentil soup is 'spoon stick up on its own' thick. I love the stuff and am totally addicted to it. :eating:
One day this week I ate 3 bowls and missed out on the dinner I had planned cos I was full. :ashamed0005: Could be that. Wasn't stomach aching, fit to burst full, but still....

Anyways, am learning. Trying new things. Seeing what works for me and others and adapting my habits. :D

And I will once and for all sort out this water thing. I've been getting headaches over the last couple of weeks and DH said could be dehydration. Could be right.
Having said that, when I told him I'd put on 1.5lbs he just said, 'yeah well, the airs heavy at the moment, isn't it.':confused:
Good try but I think I'll rely on you lot for common sense in these things. :8855:

So happy now, what a contrast from this morning. Knew, knew, knew it was right to come here as I'd have definitely gone on a foodie bender if you hadn't all been here to stop me. :thankyou:

Oh your Hubby statement made me giggle!! That will be my excuse when I put on... The air is heavy!! LOL

The lentil soup could have made a difference, I am still trying to work out what's best for me.

I have had a green day today and I feel very bloated!! :-( So I am really starting to think Green is not for me. Then again it's my TOTM.. So it could be that!???

Why are thinks soo complicated??!! LOL xx

Hmm doing exercise not drinking water, that's a recipe for a weight gain any time hun, and hubby's right, dehydration will give you headaches...during my hour and half exercise I usually drink about 2 pints of iced water....for half an hour I would definitely be drinking a pint and it's just like fat, like I said unless you fool it it will hold onto what you are storing especially if you are exercising and expending it that way, when we diet and exercise especially after years of doing nothing then start our bodies get really scared that they won't be getting any fat etc, so it stores what it can, we need to fool it ...drinking water will make you expel (that's a polite way of putting it lol) the water you are storing .
I love the zumba on the wii because after almost every section it tells you to make sure you're drinking your water ...

What I am trying to say is, if I were you and had just taken up exercise, I would be putting my weight gain down to your muscles retaining water, if you exercise and sweat you are expending the water in your body if you don't feed it water it will go into survival mode and save what it's got hence the weight gain
Hope that all makes sense and I haven't confused you more with my rambling lol xx

Actually that makes perfect sense, Lily. Even to me. :D
So thats an adjustment for next week. It gonna have to be a 'work it up to' sort of thing as I hate drinking. Hardly ever get thirsty, altho drunk more today as mum was here. She drinks like a fish.

It is a bit complicated till you understand stuff like that. You're not wrong Sugarplum.
See I would have avoided the water thinking it would just add more to the water retention. Wrong but when you don't understand how the body works a logical conclusion. Well, I like to think so. :p

DH makes me a bottle of water every night to take up and every morning it just sits there untouched. Have to start using it, won't I?

The air is heavy?? That's one I've never heard before! Did make me chuckle though :)

I only do green days, as I'm veggie, but I find as long as I stick to wholemeal pasta/rice and don't go too crazy with my portions I don't feel too bloated. If I have the white stuff I feel terrible :(

How do you make your lentil soup?

I'm definately finding coming on here helps me stay on track. Keeping a diary means if I'm naughty I have to own up to it, and I find reading everyone elses diary's and comments definately help keep me motivated. This has become one of my most visited sites now :)

Final, my soup is very basic but really moreish.

I just spray the pan and 'fry' off some smoked bacon, add carrots, onions and celery. Pour on some stock and bring to the boil. Add lentils, I used red ones, and then add a little ginger, curry powder and seasoning and simmer.

I don't measure the lentils and it gets really thick, often have to add water to thin it down to pouring consistency.
That could be the problem. Too heavy on the lentils.

Hmmm thinking about it, last week I did add in the remains of a packet of mixed veg. Not sure what was in there but it really went chunky.
As it was a green day I didn't worry.

I know how you feel hun, before SW and exercise I would have a coffee in the morning, maybe 1 or 2 more if I had visitors or none at all if not, during the day and maybe one when hubby came in from work..usually no more than 3 drinks a day.
Now I would say I probably drink an average of 8-10 pints of liquid a day, my coffee cup is twice the size of an ordinary mug lol (a present from USA) and then I have at least 6 pints of water a day on average, always have a pint of water with every meal and at least 1 pint with exercise but usually 2 and then at least another pint before bed (and I hated the stuff in fact I can only drink it now with loads of ice in it) and possibly the odd cup of tea or soda as I said
And yes you will have to start using it ...just imagine it's got a nice hit of Gin or Vodka in it lol xx

I really feel for you people that had an unfair gain.. Its a long time between W.I.ns and you feel you deserve a loss.. A huge wqell done for not thinking 'oh sod it ..its not working ' and getting stuck into the cakes and crisps.. Youve done the hard bit and got over the disappointment so now you have to be determined to move that needle next week.. I have heard loads of people talking about hoe you lose more on red days.. I imagine you are bound to retain more fluid on green days but my CM said she lost all her weight on green days.. The thing is, those of us that do a mix of red, green and ee are going to keep changing the way we hold fluid and weight will fluctuate a bit accordingly... Its what happens in the long term that matters and your doing well. I know I lose more if I keep the carbs down but I would rather lose more slowly and be craving free..
I got some of the crumble yoghurts .... Mmmmmmmm , your right. I love the thickness and ...well everything. Thanks for putting me on to them .That eton Mess looks wicked

Thanks Dmboanas, :D
With a little help from my friends here, I'm well over the grumpies now and back in the driving seat raring to go. :character00115:

There's quite a lot to learn really, I think. Never really thought how my body reacts to certain food groups - carbs, proteins even water! And of course I should have.
I was only interested in losing weight in the past, no matter how I did it at one time.

Things have changed. I want to understand it all now so I can improve my health and my families, too.

So, today I did 30 mins wii tennis AND I drank 750ml of water while doing it. Did you hear that, Lily? :D
I actually don't know what 750ml means in 'old money' so I must work that out as it doesn't mean much to me other than it was a whacking great big bottle.

I'll have some more at lunch with an ice and slice. Get me. :p

So that I don't get frightened off green days guess what I'm doing today. Oh Yes! They can't scare me. :D

So today: GREEN

2x Weetabix ~ HXB + HXA
1 tsp sugar ~ 1 syn

Banana
crumble yogurt ~ 1/2 syn

WW moroccan veg couscous ~ 2 syns
3x cauldron falafels ~ 3 syns
2 mini herby corn on cobs
watermelon

Cold beef ~ HXB
cue/lettuce/beetroot/ s onions
tomatoes/ gherkins
6 potato wedges

1/4 walnut ~ 0.5 syns
crumble yogurt ~ 0.5 syns

= 1x HXA, 2x HXB + 7.5 syns

15/105 syns

Right, done and dusted. :D

Hmm this week might be a tricky one. Am experimenting with green still, fool or what?, and I'm also away for the last 3 days with DH. Bout time too! Years since we had some 'us' time. :candledinner:
After having a chat with him about food while away we've decided to make our own for the most part.
He loves cooking and said it will be fun to buy things we coudn't usually have, ie nice steaks, etc.
Soooo... what to have? Easy things, lovely things and treaty things. Thinking cap firmly on. :D

Oh and I've been invited to a Garden Party. I'll have to socialise . :fear:
And I've no idea what food will be there altho think there's a bbq included.

Arggh.. chill crumb, chill.

edited: as added couple of bits to menu. Got the munchies.

Firstly amazing job putting yesterday behind you hun, very hard I know, but you've done the best thing, I really believe that the reason I will succeed this time with my weight loss is for the same reason as you said up there^^^...I really (at last) want to understand what makes me tick, what i should and shouldn't be doing whereas before it was just get the weight off quick and then go back to what you did before and put it all back on.
YOU, my lovely are my star pupil lol...750ml is almost 1 and a half pints :woohoo: you know what I love about you, you're like me, no half measures - take the bull by the horn and go for it.
I am 100% confident in you, and I really hope you and DH have the most wonderful weekend ...me and my DH are way overdue a weekend away, you really deserve it and I have the utmost confidence that you will sail through the garden party, you are 1 very determined lady and I am so happy to have "met" you...xx

P.S. I was just sitting here thinking about the differences this time and all the other times I have lost weight and one of them is staring me right in the face every time I come on here...my profile picture...I WOULD NEVER have put that up before, I wouldn't want anyone seeing what I look like, not even on a weight loss forum, but this time I am actually proud to show off the new slender :8855: me xx

Awww Lily, you so sweet. ;)

In a strange way I've really enjoyed the 'journey' so far. Its exciting. I'm learning, as you said, and not repeating the same mistakes over and over. I'm not a hamster anymore going round and round.

Plenty more mistakes to be made I'm guessing but I'm learning to laugh about them and not make a song and dance about them.

Take yesterday, giggling when I think of what i was like getting weighed. On, off. On, off. Scowling at the reading. What the flippin hecks wrong with these scales cos obviously I've lost a ton! On, off. Then huffily accepting I'd put on. :8855:

Just spotted your edit addition. And so you should be proud. I showed my DH cos I was so impressed with your progress.
Its encouraged him, too. He worries for me and knows its possible to pull it back now. You're proof. :)
