Using a HEB for Soup

Hi all :D

Does anybody use soup as a HEB? I am still following Red Days, but am getting really fed up with salad for lunch and want to shake things up a bit!

I don't want to do another bread disaster week, so was thinking soup, I have checked out the list on the SW website and am armed for my shop tonight!

Has anybody ever noticed their losses are smaller when using a HEB in this way?

hmmm, never tried it tbh, i usually make my soups then use the hex for ryvita as dont like bread with soup! I find i have better losses when i eat my homemade soups, so hopefully you will find the same with the hexb soups :D GL

Personally I would never use a HEXb on soup. I'd rather make a free SW soup and save the HEXb for summat yummy :D

Maybe it's because I'm not a massive soup lover, but to me it's a waste of a precious HEXb lol

If you're fed up with salad for lunch, why not make up some chicken, veg, passata with a HEb of wholemeal pasta? Or make up a chilli using a HEb of beans?

You can also have a lot of different cheeses as a HEb too - it doesn't just have to be bread.

indeed, i use my HEB for something tasty and make my own soups.


what kind of soups do you guys make?
What soups do you like??? have a look at any soup recipe internet or books, you can normally SW proof any recipe.

Curried BNS soup is so easy and tasty.


1. Dont peel the BNS just cut it in half lenth ways sccoop out seeds. crush a garlic clove and put in the scooped out seed area with some dried thyme and frylight it. bake in the oven till soft.

2. soften onion with a bit o curry powder and add some stock and simmer.

3. scoop out the soft flesh with the thyme and garlic and put it in the stock and onion mixture bring to the boil and serve! add some more stock till right consitency
