Vic Vodkas dieting rollercoaster - back to it!!!!

Jo is your weight as of the Dukan site? Mine changes on a daily basis LOL

but what is good about Dukan's calculator is that he takes all sorts of things into account that the mere BMI does not.

For instance, I'm small framed, and Vicky's large.

Irrespective of the fact that you're 5'2", have you dieted much before? Is there a weight around which you tend to stick?

Vicky - obviously it depends on what figures you put in... but with my 141K high, and my 80K stabilisation for a few months (the only weight I can ever remember stabilising at actually!!), mine's always going to be higher than most.

If I do it now, forget what I once weighed, and don't mention the 80K, it would come down...

But then I might as well just use the BMI calculator which takes nothing into account!

One of our newbies - I forget which one - is aiming for a 21.? BMI which surprised me.

Jet you have had kids. I suppose he is making you be realistic?

And TBH i dont know what my stable weight is at all!!

how does anyone work out their stable weight?

yeh ,and i dont know my stable weight either so where do we go from ere !!

God knows. Ive never been stable cos im either putting weight on or losing it. I stayed at about 11 st2 for a while so might put that.
BRB

right it says 10 4 is right -which i what i want to be. so thats ok :D

i did that but didnt understand it i put my stablizing weight at 9 st and it says my true weight will be 8 13lb ,thats fine by me !!!

Jet - I'm not sure I understand you... I forget the wording of the question, but at some point the questionnaire asks at what weight you stay without too much effort. There is where total honesty is required...

Vicky - I think you summed us up well there... always on the way up or down... that's our whole problem.

If you're happy like that, fine. (How old are you?). But I've been doing this for soooo long...

Id love to be able to stabilize i really would. Thats why dukan seems like a good option - just need to stop myself going overboard!!!!
Im 33 Jo - have been dieting on and off since I was 12!

hi jo ,while dan was growing up i gradualy put some weight on and when i came to have jordan i was about 11 st ive done ww and atkins where i lost a stone on both when i came to start my last diet it was 2003 lost 3 st in 9 months and more r less kept it off for 6 years still on ww ,so now im back with trying to lost the weight ive put back on due to not eating at the right times and basicly eating rubbish which i never normally would of done ,so wot is ur take on this !!

Vicky... we're so similar it's untrue... so please don't carry on another thirteen years as I have! I often think that I don't even mind dieting this way, because I enjoy the food, but now that I'm not losing, I'll have to have a bit of a rethink once I'm back from holiday <and have lost what I've put on again!!!!!!!>

Jet - we're all the same... how to pick a weight at which one settles easily... which did you choose to get your current 8 stone 9lbs goal weight? When did you last weigh that, do you think?

Im going to get to goal and do this dukan and see how it goes from there. Dont think ill ever go back to eating a lot of carbs - i know the effect it has on me!

i know wot u are saying i was last 8 st 9 in 2007 my then partner hated the way i looked coz he said i was to skinny ,i would be happy at about 9 ,do u think i could do ths !!i

but just look at how quickly you (like me) regain with just a bit over the weekend... or that week between Atkins and Dukan... that's a pattern forming already...

How are you going to do this weekend? I remember your saying you were going to take your own food to the BBQ, so is it just alcohol this weekend and try to stay in ketosis?

Irrespective of the goal in numbers you set, you might well discover that you feel better in yourself far higher than that. It's good for you to have something like this to aim for, without too much pressure on the timing, but whether you're 8 stone 9lbs or 9 stone at the end, so long as you're healthy... and back at work... and living a normal ish life... your partner will be happy to be with you... and you too
