Viking Supergirl's Last Two Stone Diary! Edit: 7lb down!

Oops! Forgot to fill this in yesterday.

Ate: 1439, exercise 200, net 1239. Perfect!

I have had bad luck his week, I think the mushroom soup I made has too much salt and is making me feel I'll when I eat it argh! I hope I can manage not to poison myself today as well...

Someone brought in three cakes for a birthday, I had literally a couple of crumbs for a taste and left it there, even though yesterday was also a bit lousy.

I think my tastes are changing. Now I crave soya flavours, cheese and meat! I am quite shocked that I really don't like cake or chocolate bars much. I like crunchy things.

That's like me too! I can hit out with "Do you know what I fancy? A tin of tuna" -- ha! But cravings are supposed to tell us what nutrients out body is deprived of. For example, craving something spicy is usually a lack of zinc. It's the same for things like chocolate. Proper cravings for chocolate come when the body is withdrawing from sugar (and caffeine) and because the blood/sugar levels are all over the place, it wants more chocolate and hence the chocolate cravings. That's why people say that their chocolate cravings go away after a few months of not eating chocolate and sweet things - because their blood sugar levels have stabilized and the body doesn't crave this additional sugar. That's obviously a bad craving. But the example I used above about a spicy craving meaning a zinc deficiency, is a useful craving. Since you're craving cheese there's a good chance that your real hunger is for calcium and phosphorus. ( If it's processed cheese that you've been craving, you've been getting aluminum, too, without knowing it.) For one thing, you might try eating more broccoli. That's high in calcium and phosphorus, and a lot lower in calories than cheese. So have some broccoli and your cravings for cheese should soon wander off :)

Lunch sounds fab. Did you make it or buy it? :)
Bought it - I found a fiver in a rucksack I hadn't looked in for about 8 months, so I spent it on a fancy lunch. I love dumpling-type food! (I like the flour and suet sort, but they're super-fatty - more of a treat).

Today I did the first day of the 30-day shred, my arms are a bit wibbly but it was fun!

Breakfast: porridge, yogurt.
Snack: Pitta bread
Lunch: Tomato soup
Snack: houmous, biltong
Dinner: pasta with tomatoes and feta cheese
Snack: all bran :D

Pooh I've not had biltong or anything similar for ages!!!
I grew up in SA (parental work Thingy I'm not anything more exotic than a brummy sadly) and they love dried cured meat over there. Trying desperately to remember what the Afrikaners call it now!!!

It depends on the brand but it's pretty low. A packet of Cruga brand was 120 calories, it's sold in some Tesco branches. The best is the stuff from specialty South African shops, amazing flavours. I thought it was quite niche, didn't expect so many fellow biltong lovers!

You're all officially weird ;) ... I love food nearly all of it but tried Biltong at a themed SA night at work the other month and I didn't care for it, which of course all and sundry were suprised about given how I eat nearly anything and everything LOL

It tastes so nice! Yeah I get it from a SA shop too. Didn't know tesco did it!

They also sell beef jerky which is not as nice, IMO.

Did 30 day shred yesterday, OWWW. My arms! Must be doing me good :D

I wish I could find my HRM strap... I have the fabric but lost the actual transmitter pod somewhere :( a new Garmin one is about £40!

can you find a replacement cheaper on ebay?

Eeeeebay is amazing :) I get big J's specialist Lego bits from there. Cost me £7 yesterday for a single 3x2 red LED transparent brick. He has to tell me what to search for :) I got worried when he wanted a 5inch 'worm' once!!! There are so many sad lego nutters on there!!!!

There are lots of obsessives on there - ask me about my dad's model train obsession sometime... My mum had to ban him from spending any more on eBay- the postman knew us all by name and ParcelForce had us on speed dial!

Sadly there are no HRM obsessives - the cheapest I can find for a replacement HRM of the right model is £40... that will have to wait.

I'm not using that as an excuse though, I did Day 3 of the 30-day shred and it's not as bad as day 2... I do hate jumping jacks though, almost as horrible as push ups (ARRG)

I've been getting a bit 'snacky' lately at home, nibbling on little things... must not go back to old habits!

Yeah I've had a bit of a snack ban in force all this week. I've lifted it a day early for PMT reasons tho!!! I found it really hard at first an my energy levels suffered a bit but it was surprising how fast they stabilised. I might keep it up as a general rule coz it saved me loads of cals an by thurs I wasn't getting hungry at 11 an 3 anymore!!

Weigh in day and I've gained about 1.25lb - pah! 148.25 pounds. Poo poo poo!

Still, I'm not terribly bothered. I'm convinced it's just my poor muscles swollen from the 30-day Shred ;) I've kept close to the calorie limits and never gone over my maintenance level, so it should (should!!) even out.

I've had raging hunger all day for some reason, still I managed to keep my intake within the calories:
