WannabeSkinnyMinnie's Fat to Fab Diary 2013

I really still can't agree with you on this WSM haha! I think you've done brilliant.

Like Jael said, Compare it to what you would have chosen before :) God, before, I'd have bought the shop out of chocolate stock and then some. At a meal it would have been a mixed grill larger than your OHs too!

Agree that you have recognised something and learnt from it but still think its not a slip up hehe, Yeah you could have had no carbs but you Havnt had a naughty meal, and no packs that day!! I very much doubt you have done any damage what so ever. Roll on WI you are sliding into 10s now not long at all, Fab fab fab :D xx

Minnie your meal sounds ok to me. A few carbs and some sugar but not a disater in the general scheme of things. On some diets baked potato is recommended!
Hope your mouth is feeling better.
Mere x

Hi Minnie I think your food choice wasn't that bad. you are doing so well. keep it up

In the grand scheme of things it could've been a lot worse, and as its not all of the time I doubt it'll be of much, if any, detriment to your results :)

Hope the dentist was easy on you xx

Ahh thanks guys- I hate feeling like I haven't been strong and determined but you guys have helped me not beat mysef up about it!

As I said in my earlier post, OH has taken away the scales so I couldn't weigh this morning as I didn't want to know the damage to avoid the, 'Well, I've messed up now I may as well...' attitude. But I went to my mums (yes I'm 24 and still take my mum to the dentist with me haha) and weighed at 11:55am naked and her scales showed 11.4 on the nose. From previous times weighing on mums scales they are roughly the same so I am hopeful that on my scales they will be about the same :)
I won't take it as an official weight but at least I didnt show any significant gain!

The dentists was rubbish. Went in paid £18 upfront and was in the room for about 3 minutes. She said yep its infected, keep taking the antibiotics and doing the salt water which you are already doing.
I had to ask her about the infection like whether it was tooth or gum etc as got nothing. So I thought, well seeing as I'm here I'll ask her whether I have a whole in my tooth. All she said was yes you do. End of convo!! So £18 for treatment when no real treatment took place!!

My mum and I then went looking around some charity shops. I bought two items for my holiday and some flip flops. Oh and also a chicken recipe book with the most amazing but healthy ideas. Really was food porn!

I've had a good day though diet wise and feel like I've done a U turn and back on the right route again!

Back to work tomorrow, boo.

Oh no, sorry the dentist did nothing to help :( Have you registered there now for the future? I suspect that tooth will need to come out once the infection's gone. Hope the antibiotics kick in quickly.

Not the most satisfactory visit to the dentist but at least you got confirmation that you are doing the right thing. Bit of desperation about weighing in at your mum's, stripping naked! Good luck for official WI.

Excellent choices and great willpower. Cals would be well under maintenance so you done great. Really hope your mouth clears up soon, you've been very unlucky with totm and nasty mouth infection! Well done also on 11.4!!! 10s in a few weeks!!! Yay!! Xxx

You have made some great choices minnie and especially since you have been in all that pain for so long!

I hope the infection clears up soon and that you spring into the 10's soon x

Rubbish news about the dentist but YAY on no gain :D xx

Yes, congratulations on losing those pounds. You've really been up against it recently, but I take my hat off - I admire your willpower.
Sorry about the bad trip to the dentist, I can't believe they didn't investigate that hole in the tooth! That's really poor service. Hope you get a decent night sleep and don't wake up in pain. x.

 £18 for nothing!! Do you need to go back about the hole? My neighbour also has an infection and a hole in her wisdom tooth! Apparently the dentist can't take it out - she has to have it done in hospital! She is on a 6 month waiting list! Shocking!!

Good luck for weigh in tomorrow xxx

A jacket spud is practically health food Minnie !!
As long as it wasn't covered in butter ;)
As for mayo.... I always used to use light or low fat mayo :).
But since I started seeing the manfriend, I go for the full fat variety.
Shocking, but this is my reason. There is no sugar and vitrually no carbs in full fat mayo.
The lighter varieties have waaaay too much sugar in them, to be good for a diabetic ;)(he is).
And way too much sugar to be low carb ;)
Yes, it has more cals in it, so its a bit of a trade off :)

I'm not sure I could eat the sweeties though, if I had toothache, but then, I have sweetie issues regarding my teeth anyway

Sometimes the wisdom teeth roots wrap themselves around the jaw bone, hence the hospital involvement, as it has to be done with a general anethestic.
Thats a bit of a long wait though :(

Hope you have a fab day hun

Didn't know that about the Mayo Marge. You live and learn on this forum. All good stuff! :D
Mere x

And full fat mayo is much nicer than the fat free ones

I didn't realise either Mere. I only started checking such stuff for the diabetic manfriend ;)
To be honest, I dont buy anything low fat now. Its got too much sugar, e numbers and other stuff in for my liking, and his sugar levels
Low fat fruit yoghurt is probably the worst  A lot have some where in the region of between 10g and 15g per 100g of sugar. Thats 2 to 3 teaspoons of sugar a small pot !!!!!
Best off to have natural yoghurt with real fruit

Oh, and excuse the pun....but dont even get me started on marge or other low fat spreads ;)

What about Lurpack lightest is it ok. I dont eat much in the way of spreads but that is the one I buy.
Mere x

There are so many ingredients in a lot of spreads, that I dont like to think what they are. I read a while back, that if one more ingredient was added to most spreads, then it would be a plastic  . How true it is, I'm not sure. It was enough to put me off.
So I dont use them now in the house now. I know it can be unavoidable in the real world; )
I usually only have real butter now in the house now, if I have it. Rarely I will have a spreadable butter, but thats because I cant get my head around the whole vegetable oil in butter thing.
It really does nothing on a slice of toast for me, thinking that at about 30% of it was a liquid oil. I know butter is a fat too, but somehow in my head it seems more natural :)
Having said that, I know all of these products are tested within an inch of their life prior to human consumption, its just my own opinion about it all that keeps me away from now :)

Polo mints are anothing thing I avoid.
When I was a child, someone told me they were bad for your teeth.
Not all sweets.
Just polo mints.
So I dont eat them now. :D

No rhym or reason for my idiosyncrasies, I'm affraid ;)
