Wedges in egg white

Hi all

I saw this part of a recipe on the SW website where par boiled potato is dipped in whisked egg whites. Has anyone tried dipping their wedges in egg white before baking? ! Maybe it makes them extra crispy?

That sounds interesting, I had a google and it looks like its like an egg wash you might put in sausage rolls or a loaf of bread to make it crisp. And I suppose it gives the seasonings something to stick to. Will have to give this a try.

Yes I have tried using the egg whites on the wedges and yes they do crisp up nicely! Adding a bit of spice would be nice too. :)
 
Thanks everyone. Will try it next time. I didn't want to ruin hubby's tea if they didn't work :). I did the turkey and courgette burgers, they were lovely!
