Week 1 weigh-in and only 1lb lost - I don't get it!!!

Hello all

I did exante several years ago with great results, lost a stone and a half, which is what I want to lose now. I started a week ago on TS, have been 100% - the only one 'cheat' is that I had an extra cup of Marigold bouillon the other day - hardly a capital offense!!
Anyway, weighed myself this morning and I was only down 1lb. I was really surprised. In my clothes I feel I have lost weight - the muffin top has definitely reduced. Is there any explanation for that?

TMI perhaps but when I started I was during PMS time and now it has just finished, which makes it even weirder!

Keep strong to all you Exanters out there, you are all very inspiring - I haven't given up despite this disappointment.

Did you weigh on different scales? Glad you are keeping positive!! Keep at it! You feel the difference in your clothes, so hopefully next week the scales will be kind! Well done on getting through the first week!!! My first week ends tomorrow! X

This seems very strange but.. Maybe you will see the results next week whereas most ppl lose lots then a little maybe it will be the other way for you. If you have lost inches that's great, did you measure yourself before? Maybe take them now for the next week ahead. Don't give up just yet it is impossible to restricted your Cals that much and not lose weight ;-) it will happen

First week is mainly water and gluco wotsit ... you maybe didn't have many stores?

As I just said to someone in the LT forum - this is a long term thing, try not to be too disheartened by one week and don't compare to others or your last time. You/this time is unique.

You WILL lose loads on this diet if you stick to it. :)

I weighed myself in the exact same spot, digital scale, so it wasn't the scales.
Stangely, I weighed myself the following day and I was down 3 lbs in total - I guess it just takes more time to kick in for some people. Spoke to a friend last night who had done Lighter Life and she had the same problem for the first 2 weeks, only one lb down - the diet counsellor didn't believe her that she hadn't cheated - then at week 3 and 4 she was down 3 and 4 lbs.
Onwards and downwards!!!

I lost a stone then magically gained 5 pounds which went again a few days later, I think it was either fluid changes or could be cos I hadn't been to the loo for a few days or drunk enough water. I find the weight just doesn't shift unless i drink 4 pints of plain water everyday which I hate.
