i won a tin of chick peas at the raffle and have never used these before. what do you do with them? im not much of a cook!:p

garlic, bit of chilli powder (optional), little bit of olive oil, obviously chick peas and then blend them all together in a blender x x x

Would that be free on green then? I know houmous is a HE or synned usually

If making it as above, you'd have to syn the olive oil, or class it as a HEb.

littlemisscupcake posted this else where:

- tin of chick peas (drained)
- 1 large red pepper (chopped)
- 3 cloves of garlic
- Juice of half a large lemon
- 1.5 tbsp's of Very low fat fromage frais
- salt and pepper to taste

bung it all in the food blender.......

I made bhajis with them last night.

1 medium onion
1 medium sized potatoe- boiled
can of chick peas- drained
1 beaten egg
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp bombay mix spice (i used the packet bombay potato mix for this)
1 tsp dried mixed herbs
salt and pepper

Fry the onion off in a pan with fry light until tender (approx 5 mins)
Put in bowl and add the chick peas, boiled potato and mash together.
Stir in remaining ingredients and form into small balls and put on baking tray. (Should make 20 balls)

Gas mark 7/220 degrees for 15-20 mins until golden brown (i like mine crispy so left in a bit longer)

This is compeltely free on a green day!

I got this recipe out of the100 green recipes book :)

they make nice burgers too. Just whizz them up with an egg, chilli, bit of chopped onion and any herb you have to hand. Chill for a while in the fridge then cook in fry light.

1tspn of ground cumin (or to taste),
1-2 garlic cloves (again to taste)
1 tspn dried or fresh parsley

put in blender, serve with carrot sticks, celery, or pitta bread or i make homemade potatoe wedges, sprinkled with all seasoning, and dip them in the hummous
