What do the meals look like? and what can you with them?

mmmmmmm just had the chilliwrapped in lettuce but i added my chicken alloance on top and some really low carb mayo! was so yummyyyy!!!!! i will be having that when im off plan!!! (only proper chili) lol

I also see that people add things like chilli flakes and tabaso etc to meals, is there a list anywhere about what is ok to add. so which diet drink can I have when around them to put them off the scent,

If you look at the frequently asked questions sticky details about the drinks are there. Most spices are ok as long as they don't contain sugar / carbs (or just ensure they have negligible amounts for the amount you're using) so just check for that.

I have the veg. I figure that an extra (approx) 50 calories a day = 350 calories per week meaning that you would need to include the veggies for 10 weeks to make 1lb of weight loss different. I figure it's worth it for the taste / variety / sense of well being.

I experimented today with a porridge meal pack, and some chicken breast. I used an egg, boullion seasoning and a bit of chili and pepper. However you can choose what spice, on hindsight a whole egg was not really needed for 100 grams of chicken, so you could use just the white to reduce the calories.

I made chicken nuggets, and here are the pictures. IMG00192-20120424-1155 (1).jpgIMG00188-20120424-1130.jpgIMG00187-20120424-1128.jpg

I cut the chicken up and then seasoned it with the seasoning mentioned, and then I mixed in a egg. I placed the porridge pack with some seasoning in a plate, and then I just placed the chicken pieces into the porridge mixture to coat them. To reduce the calories, I used a frylight spray and my griddle, to get the outer coating done and then placed the chicken nuggets in the oven to cook a bit more.

Taste wise, you cannot taste the porridge pack that much, but it tastes very nice. Alot better than I expected, and it gives it a nice crunchy coating on the chicken.

Wow! What a great idea :) x

Wow what a brilliant thread, I was going to just stick to the shakes but after seeing all your yummy ideas I am going to order some samples, may help keep me on plan for longer, Thanks;)

Pretty impressive!!

Is it just me or is everyone being far more inventive and cooking from scratch far more than when they are off plan?

Oh definitely! My post diet fare consisted of selecting the ready meal from the fridge and shoving in the microwave. Now I'm actually spending time each day chopping and cooking fresh ingredients :)

Me too, and I'm actually really enjoying it!

Had lovely mushroom pasta with button mushrooms and spinach for dinner. Mushroom pasta was a touch peppery than I remember but beautiful!

Eggs are ok as a protein substitute. You could substitute out some of the chicken or use it instead of the milk allowance perhaps?

Here is my mushroom pasta from the other night
I made it a little runny but was beautiful, added some extra mushrooms and salad garnish.

So far all the meals I've had have been yummy.

I've just made some porridge biscuits/scones they were lovely. Next time I'll cook them for 20 mins.

Put sweet porridge in a bowl and mix well with 3 table spoons of water.
Oven on 150.
Dollop on to grease proof paper and bake for 15 mins.

Really tasty. I nicked this recipe off someone on here :0)

I think I am addicted to these, I like to flip mine over half way through cooking then they get crispy on top and bottom :)

Just had the Cottage pie, strange consistency but I made mashed swede to go with it and ended up mixing them both together, I know it sounds gross but it was actually quite nice like a sort of pasty filling, my large bowl was full and I now feel really stuffed. Lovely change from the shakes :)
