Hello ladies

Well I've been following the plan for 3 weeks and now it is that time, the dreaded monthlies are on their way and PMS is rife!

I'm really struggling to stay on track this week, plus I've just weighed myself (slapped wrist I know as WI not until Monday) but I'm 2lbs heavier again. I'm bloated and I'm tearful and I'm STARVING!!

Now I'm doing everything 'right' and am filling up on free foods, last night I felt stuffed as I'd gorged on free and superfree all day trying to kill the craving but it just won't go! Please stop reading now if you can't cope with 'food porn' but I need an offload!

I NEED chocolate, not just a kit kat but a couple of Mars bars or a big slab of dairy milk, or I need something dirty and greasy from macdonalds, a big quarter pounder with dripping melting cheese and a tang of ketchup. I need a bottle of a nice warm red wine with a bag of kettle chips and a pizza or I need chips from the chippy with curry sauce and a greasy battered sausage!

It doesn't matter how full I am, I still don't feel satisfied as I need to kill the craving. And it doesn't help picturing myself slim or thinking about getting fatter as it doesn't get rid of the hormones that are raging at the moment!!

Does anyone else feel like this? And how
Do you get past it? Any great tips or recommendations? You ladies are so fabulous, I'm sure someone out there will be able to advise me, I'm sticking to the plan so far but my resolve is most definitely waning! x x

The hungrier you get, the more likely you are to go for the greasy, fatty choices as this is your body's defence mechanism to starvation (it is thinking "eat at much energy/calories rich food as possible NOW")

You can't fight this- so don't try. Make sure you are never hungry by eating free food until you are full. You say you NEED greasy stuff, but only because you let it go so far- you got too hungry. Get some real treats like prawns, crabsticks, cooked chicken, pickled eggs, strawberries and graze- let your body know you are going to keep it well looked after and well fed, and it will stop with all the whining!

god i could have writen this myself a couple of weeks ago! 3 out of 4 weeks of the month i can avoid chocolate and not bother about it, but that one week, NOTHING will do until I have a chocolate fix, a craving that a couple of mini chomps just won't cure. I got round it by not having any chocolate near me or in the house. If i knew it was there i'd have eaten it, so if it's not there I can't have it. I didn't go near any shops until the craving had passed. But like you, I'd fill up on free foods, but nothing could cure the sweet craving! So I too would love to know people's coping strategies!

i tend to do mostly all green days when i am on.
i find the carbs fill me and lessen the starvin marvin feeling and also makes me crave crap less.
and without meaning to sound blunt - you dont 'need' those things.....you 'want' them.you are 'used' to them and doing that when you are on.you are only a few weeks in and you are not used to less yet...if you want choc you want a whole bloody slab because thats what you are used too.
i used to be like that...a proper chocolate monster! but you honestly, honestly do get used to having less and it satisfys you.
milky way stars for example-the treat size bags are 3.5 syns each....i often have 3 of those when im on...or cadbury buttons are 4 syns for a treat size bag-again i often have 3 when im on.i find these two better than anything as i suck each one individually which takes time, spreads the treat and is so yum!! rather than inhale them like i would have before.

Lol, thanks you. It is whining!! I think that's what's so hard is that last night I was stuffed, I had eaten so much food and even saved my syns for two butchers proper sausages which I love. I'd eaten more yesterday than any other day and I wasn't hungry at all, but I was craving!!

I will do the same today though and nip out and get more free snacks and see if that does anything. Thanks for your reply x x

That's great advice about the milky way stars and buttons. I am aware I don't physically 'need' them, am just trying to explain how my body feels. I have always tried to watch my weight (not that successfully obviously or I wouldn't need to lose 2 stone now) and I have never actually given in and eaten the things that my cravings want when I'm due on, but yet I still have them every month. I dream about big slabs of cadburys chocolate and greasy foods!

I'm just really interested in other peoples coping mechanisms as I don't seem to have found one that works yet! :)

I'm def going to get some of those treat size bags of chocolate though! thank you x x

It's bizarre isn't it? I hope we get some tips that we can both use :) x x

If you still feel you need chocolate I always have a cadburys highlights hot chocolate and that seems to take away some of the craving. Also if you have your hexA for milk it makes it creamier and more filling.
