Whats for tea tonight?

Warm Grilled chicken salad.. Yum Yum!

Beef stew cooked in my new 'Flavour Savour'-, it's FAB!!

Stew includes very lean stewing beef, onions, carrots, parsnips, potatoes, mixed herbs etc. Might also cook some cauliflower to have with it to ensure I get my 3rd super free, otherwise it's not really following EE properly is it?! :)

xx

Well, there's a few different ways you can do this. On the batch I'm doing at the minute, there's 1 litre of stock made with 5 oxo cubes. When it's nearly done, I will probably add some Bisto granules (which I'll need to syn), which will thicken it a bit. It you want it ultra luxurious (and a bit naughty), then add a cornflour mixture too. I only do this occasionally though due to the syns involved, but it's nice for a treat. :)

Is the beef stew done in a slow cooker? X

I have a Morphy Richards 'Flavour Savour'. It's a slow cooker, but it also has a sealing / browning function for the meat / onions and a stewing function. And it automatically switches to 'keep warm' for up to 2 hours after cooking!!

I wish I'd discovered it sooner, it does so much more than my normal slow cooker. The stew's being cooked on the 1hr 45 min 'stew' function. I did brown the meat & onions first using the flavour savour too, so all in all it takes about 2 hours from start to finish, after prepping food. Brill, brill, brill :)

I made griddled mackerel fillets with chilli, ginger and lime, egg noodles dressed with, soy sauce, fish sauce, sesame oil, chilli and red onions and a big salad. It was very nice.
