When setting targets, do you base everything on your BMI?

Wanna be loser!!
Just wondering what the general opinion about this is? I re-joined Slimming World on Tuesday and weigh in at a clinically obese 18st 1.5lbs :(. Since the age of 13 I have never been under 12 stone...and I have a big bone structure, so not sure the BMI's recommended range of 9 1/2 - 10 1/2 stone is correct considering my build?

Anyone have any opinion on this? I haven't set any targets as such, but I know I have at least 6 stone to lose...so I hope I am okay to be in the WeMITTS?

xx

firstly welcome!

and i would say bmi should be taken somewhat with a pinch of salt (imo). ideal weight isn't a one size fits all. last time my bmi was 28 my doctor said he was happy with me at that weight and didn't feel i should push to be any lower- you know yourself when you're at the right weight for your frame and build so just go with that. xx

I am aiming to get my weight within my healthy BMI range, but I'm aiming for the top end
