Woman of the Year 2012

I won mine, I was nominated last week when I didn't stay to group....I was delighted to win, don't qualify for the regionals I'm guessing as they weren't mentioned although I feel a little hard done by that I didn't get a certificate or sash :-( lol
 
Hey.. I have been in my group since January although in 2010/2011 I did go to another group and lost 3 stone so I am about 2.5stone from my orginial weigh. 3 weeks ago we all voted on a slip of paper the person who we felt deserved woman of the year and then the next week the C announced that it may not be a person who is at their target weigh but someone who may still be on their journey but one who inspires and motivates us within the group and then she said it was me!! I was blimming shocked! Also very chuffed! It motivated me and makes me really happy.

Yipeeee so happy I got nominated and won WOTY in my group it feels like a dream soooo happy congratulations all ladies who have been nominated and those who won . Does anyone know what happens at regional finals? I feel nervous already at the thought of it xxxx

Thank u congratulations to u too . I've heard ya have to do a stand up talk aghhhhh public speaking I go red as a tomato and normally end up crying when I talk about my journey lol xxx

I did do it 18 years ago too, and remember talking in groups and voting for each other like come dine with me Which I found odd, as it was obvious if you scored people low, you had a chance of winning, not that I was bright enough to cotton on to that on the day ;) all nerves lol.

Thanks what's the difference between district & regional ? As my consultant says I'll be going to regional !! Had a little read of previous threads omg it sounds like an awesome day so scared I'll cry as I broke my heart in group when they said I'd won never ever dreamed I could lose my weight I know just over 5 st isn't massive compared to some people's fantastic achievements but to me it is espeshially as my endocrinologist told me I'd struggle as my thyroid is virtually non existent . I've not been the fastest either but I always say who won the race the tortoise or the hair . Oh dear so nervous so excited my Ibs has gone mad this week lol xxxx
 
I might be getting confused...I wnt to a small local one and then the winners from that one (2 people) went to the next level....which I think was national....? I know Cara went to the next level last year so perhaps she is best to detail what the levels are referred to as x
 
district/regional is the same thing- its just whatever someone calls it.

If you have lost more than 3 stone and are no more than a stone away from the book target (which i think is healthy bmi)- and of course if you win group- you get to go to districts/regionals.

Depending on the size of the district, or the amount of people in the competition, there are 1 or 2 winners. They go through to the semi finals at head office (which are on 6th October)

From those ladies the top 10 are chosen for the final which is in Birmingham on 10th November.

Our district (and Tanya's since we're in the same district :D ) finals are 16th September in Chester.... can't wait! ordered my outfit and everything! Can't wait to do my board!!!
