Wow - 10 weeks is nearly a quarter of a year!!! You are doing so well.:bliss: Great news that you are managing to keep the weight in check at the same time - i think that stopping smoking was one of the factors that resulted in my getting really fat as i nibbled a lot of bad things instead:(

Anyone in the 10 stones trying to get into the 9's??!!

Hello again everyone - I've been away for a few weeks (bit of a holiday then ferrying mum to and from hospital to see my dad) so was not really following the plan 100% as meals were a bit haphazard. Eggs and Bananas

Yes, the research on eggs has shown no link - from British Heart Foundation website... For most people there is currently no limit on the number of eggs that you can eat in a week. However, because the recommendation has changed over the years, it's often a common source of confusion. In the...

Days like to Day I wish I had tried Harder ..

some of the best people I have ever employed have been large! Give you an example... at one point someone in our team of 9 people said "I know what we all have in common - we all have huge chests, except J." J then piped up "but I had a chest reduction" :D Most employers would not say size is...

    Am i allowed to cheat?

Joking aside, I can really see the point. I don't go to classes but I would be miffed if I had to pay because I was wearing heavy shoes rather than pumps or sandals. I think I would take them off every week for the sake of consistency.

  86. S

    Completely off topic but..

That's really lovely Stevie! I keep saying I would like a tattoo but am such a coward! I know I'm probably being really dim here, but what happens to tattoos when people lose a bit of weight? Do they just shrink with the skin and look a bit brighter colours?

Have just enjoyed reading up on everyone's progress over the past couple of weeks (I've been up at my Mum and Dad's helping them out by gardening as neither is fit enough to do it now). Ruthie - I haven't been doing this very long and I am sure others are much more savvy than me - but from common sense I agree with you - SW free foods tend to be lower in calories than things that people (like me!) eat as treats or quick fills. Caveat being that processed/full of artificial...

    Sausages

soau how i remember it is... RED meat (as lean meat and fish is promoted) GREEN vegetable (as veg and pulses are promoted) and that the healthy extras are opposite - so on a red day pulses and starchy veg are HEBs and on a green day lean meat and fish are HEBs. Soooo on red days green day...

    Stephe King Fans?

I have read most SK books except Under the Dome (didn't want to read that before I watched Haven) and The Dark Tower series. Have to say that apart from The Shining and The Stand, I have a tendency to get bored in the middle of his books but really enjoy the beginning and the end (except The...

Any fantasy fiction readers on here ?

I really enjoy Robin Hobbs' books and have just finished listening to The Rainwild Chronicles 1; The Dragon Keeper on my car journeys. Really want the second volume now on CD. I loved Diana Wynne Jones' quirky sense of humour and was sorry to hear she died a little while back. What about Dave...

What's everyone reading at the moment?

I'm reading The Dead Saint by Marilyn Brown Oden which was a freebie for the Kindle the other day. I am really enjoying it! Quite often I pick up the freebies and if they don't grab me, into the archive they go but the ones I enjoy I leave on my Kindle. Amazon reckon you can fit about 3500...

    Can I come back in??

Hiya Mrsbradbull - I am quite new too and thought joining here might really spur me into keeping at it. So far, so good but even if I gain a little one week, I am not going to give up, just get back on track again the following week - that's my new philosophy! I am sure you will find the...

Anyone in the 11 stone bracket want support to get down to the 10s?

Congratulations Ali, you are doing so well. Is it just my rotten arithmetic or is 1.5 st off for you not 11st 8lb rather than 11st 4lb? In which case you are there already! Congratulations Shivvy, all those 1lbs will add up and you might find you are losing inches with your workouts so when...

    Common SW misconceptions put right.

Hi MsMia - similar question to one I have. My OH is not a big vegetable fan so I sneak loads of superfree veg into chilli, bolognaise, other meat sauces as possible. Bet he doesn't realise that half the packet of extra lean mince goes to the dog as a special treat! OH only does lettuce and...

lol Sadie, that would be a nice surprise for him and me both! struggling with extra easy

Hi TryingAgain Key things on Extra Easy are: 1. One Healthy Extra A and one Healthy Extra B per day 2. Every meal must be at least 1/3 Superfree foods (e.g. not potatoes, peas, sweetcorn, parsnips) 3. You can then choose freely from any other Free foods on either Red or Green 4. For Syns...

Newbie, about to stop the evil weed!!!

Don't know about wisdom but I did manage to stop smoking 8 years ago and if I can do it with the willpower of a small gerbil, then I know you can too! My motivation was that my partner moved in and doesn't smoke so I reckoned that was time to take action. I didn't use anything other than a...

Hello, its slimming world for me

Hello Clare, I joined just a little while ago and found this thread very helpful. http://www.minimins.com/slimming-world/100149-slimming-world-advice-new-comers-including-extra-easy.html The key things seems to be that on Extra Easy you have only one Healthy Extra A plus one Healthy Extra B and...

Anyone in the 11 stone bracket want support to get down to the 10s?

Hello, just joining this bracket by the very slimmest of margins being 11st 13.5lbs! I am very pleased having started 9 days ago. Hoping to continue the good work though a bit gutted that my OH has got to work in Sheffield for next 4 weeks and he's been great at following SW with me. I expect...

Anyone 12 stones to 11 stones

Well that's a bit of a pleasant surprise, I am now 11st 13.5lbs! So I've squeaked into the 11s to 10s by the narrowest of margins. I didn't expect to lose so much so quickly - it says a lot about the terrible food choices I had been making recently... and a lot about the SW formula that I...

Slimming world online, is it worth it?

Hi, I was thinking about joining the online version but the comments about support and the huge amount of resource available from this site and its lovely members are edging me to the view that it isn't really necessary. Are there any other downsides to not joining online apart from those...

    SW and Boobs

I am hoping that mine will reduce - as I am getting older gravity is also playing havoc! Nice to know that others have similar problems with bras and that most have found they have dropped down sizes. Am feeling optimistic!

    Hoping to lose to gain

Hello, I am Susie and heading towards 50 years old (fast!). I was a nice curvy 9 stone for years. I stopped smoking about 8 years ago when my partner moved in and started to put on weight - not helped by his penchant for takeaway food and stodge and my lack of willpower. I was made redundant...
