    Free ice cream!

Oh my gosh, just saw the above answer, sorry! For some reason my page wouldn't load page 6 of the comments, so I read through until page 5 and thought "oh well, no one's asked it." Then as soon as I ask the question and post it, it loads page six and I see it directly above. Duh, I feel so stupid!

    Propoints allowance dropped already??

Where it drops seems to be different for everyone, maybe depending also on height and age? When you joined, you must have been just at the beginning of the higher bracket, so your loss took you down into the next one! Congrats on your loss, even if losing pp is annoying :-)

    Blended Fruit..ProPoints?

I think if you just blended it it should be free, but if you juiced it there will be points (e.g. think about the fact that even natural juice, with nothing added and the pith still there, has quite a few points in it). But I'm not certain.

    Bns

I usually just cut it into cubes and roast. Or cut it in half lengthwise, place face down on an oven tray, bake for a couple of hours - leave to cool, scoop out the soft flesh, and blend with vege stock/light coconut milk/evaporated milk and herbs/spices for an easy and delicious soup!

    Checking In... Bread Observation

I've mostly cut out bread as well, my body just doesn't like it from a weight loss perspective. I'll happily eat potatoes, noodles, pasta etc - it's just the bread my body struggles with! The one exception is my flatmate makes a beautiful slow-rise bread, and seems to be absolutely fine. So...

    Weight watchers PP ???

Don't be afraid to use them; that's what they're there for! I always like to have a few up my sleeve just in case something unexpected crops up, hence why I use 4-5 a day rather than 7. Also, studies show you'll lose more weight if your body can't predict it's calorie intake, so the weeklies are...
  14. K

    what am i doing wrong?

Yep, def eat your weeklies - when I worked for ww we usually saw the best losses in people who'd used at least half (for people on about 33 daily or less - more than that and it didn't seem to make a difference.) Also, just like with exercise, try switching it up a bit so your body can't...
  15. K

    Weight watchers PP ???

I'm on 26. I find it's fine because I'm pretty sensible, and there's always my weeklies if I feel like a few more. Usually I'll use 4-5 of my weeklies a day, and save the other 14-21 weeklies for in case I have something particular on. I also don't drink alcohol, which helps of course (both...

    Calories in a Propoint?

Remember though, there's a reason WW no longer uses calories. They were actually originally determined simply by burning food, which obviously isn't how our body processes it. What is interesting to know, though, is that a gram of protein or carbs has 4 calories, while a gram of fat has 9...

    Ww app Ultimate Value Diary

Some things will be more/less than double when you have two of them. We should only count whole pp of course, but in reality the values are continuous rather than discrete. Eg if something was 1.4pp, that would be rounded down to 1 pp for one, but two would be 2.8 which would be 3. Conversely...

    Shake Bag Colemans

Can't help you cause I don't know the product sorry, but if you have the nutritional info post it here along with the portion size and we can work it out for you! Oh, and it definitely won't be 1.5pp because there are no half propoints!

Pasta....(sorry you have probable seen this millions of times)

Good to know! But if you have the nutritional info, you're always best using that anyway. Might be worth double checking those values on the packet and that it's for uncooked, because that does sound low!
  24. K

Pasta....(sorry you have probable seen this millions of times)

Where are you getting the 1pp per 10g thing? Go with the nutritional info on the packet, because different pastas will vary slightly and that's accurate for the pasta that you're actually eating. Always use the nutritional info for the food you're eating if you have it, because it's more...

    NOTE FOR FRUIT EATERS

HoneyBee: you don't like ANY fruit?! I agree completely with Dopey Angel, I think she has it spot on. Snacking on fruit, even if it is sugar (in the form of fructose), is much better than snacking on biscuits or ww ice creams. Whether or not we pointed it on the old programme or have it as 0 on...

    NOTE FOR FRUIT EATERS

There shouldn't really be this sort of discrepancy, it's pretty poor. Find a leader who has good weight loss stats (do they have Diamond Leader over here?) and trust them, I guess.
  29. K

    NOTE FOR FRUIT EATERS

Firstly, the ''5 a day''guideline is a minimum based on what the government thought it could plausibly convince people here to eat by way of fruit and veg; some other countries are the same, but some have higher daily recommendations. For example, in NZ the campaign is ''five plus'', the WHO...

    Magners light stockists

Can't help you out with the stockists sorry, but just wanted to say I saw this on another thread: Dunno if those are the only two affected, but it might be worth checking the pp value at your meeting - 1pp sounds pretty low!
  35. K

    1 + 1 = 3???

The best way to do it is for your overall day - 5pp for 3 eggs, 3pp for 2 slices of bread etc. But it can be tricky to keep it straight sometimes, so it shouldn't be the end of the world if it's not perfect! And definitely don't worry about counting across days!
  36. K

    What are your brilliant finds?

Wow, really? So say for the soup at cafe nero, is that 4pp for the tomato and basil soup including the bread and butter?! I've been having the soup on it's own! And do the salads all include dressings too, then? That's great to know about the supermarkets, thanks. Will have to have an explore!

Hello, fellow NZer! Yeah they seem to have some great options, although there are definitely things back home I miss! Really good Japanese/Vietnamese/Laotian food for instance - they have delicious low point takeaway options! It must be here somewhere, it's just a matter of finding it! Oh my...

    What are your brilliant finds?

Yep, I've done that! I'm finding the eating out guide frustrating because it doesn't give portion sizes or very many more generic options - it's mostly big chains. And the shopping guide seems to be pretty limited for brand selection. So I have an app on my phone that I use to work it out at the...

    no junk snacks?

Yes, nuts (especially walnuts) are very good for you! How about avocado (healthy but quite high points) on toast? Or salmon on crackers? A full-fat yoghurt (probably healthier from an ingredients perspective than the low fat artificial sugar ones!) Or muesli bars with more natural (organic?)...

    WW products or other?

It depends on the item. I'm still figuring it out over here a bit, but I know back in NZ there were only a few items that WW was actually better value for pp-wise, often another brand was the same pp and cheaper. So, like I say, I'm still working it out here, but it looks to be the same story...

    Saving points

I'm reluctant to comment on the saving thing, cause different leaders seem to say different things. But no, you will not lose more by not using your weeklies! As someone who worked for NZ WW, the people who consistently achieved good losses were the ones who used most (half to all) of their...

    alcoholic drinks

Because although we treat points as discrete values, in reality they're continuous, and there's implicit rounding in them. You should never use decimals in your points, but let's just pretend temporarily for the sake of illustration: Imagine an item is 1.4 pp. This would get rounded down to 1pp...

    Olive Oil on Weight Watchers

Regarding the olive oil, NO! If - and only if - you are doing a Simply Filling day, you should have two teaspoons of healthy oil (olive, rapeseed, walnut etc) and not point them. On the regular propoints plan, you MUST point all your oil! Good luck!

  64. K

Miserable & Failing At The Weightloss 'Game'

In NZ, we weren't meant to give pp values out in meetings - either in case we got them wrong, or because some people hear what they want to hear (eg someone said ''brand x of low fat chicken sausages are 3pp'', and next week all these people wondered why they gained after pointing regular...

  67. K

    Why

Simply filling is a brilliant option, but only if you've already got a handle on portion control etc. A lot of people who start WW can't actually tell whether or not they're full, because they're so used to eating until they're stuffed, and obviously simply filling isn't going to work for them...

  70. K

    PP's in Beechams, Lemsip etc?

Not sure about those ones, but I know some of the lozenges (including ones that say ''sugar free'') really ought to be pointed. And I think most lemsip has sugar in it, but I'm not sure. Try googling ''lemsip nutritional information'' to work it out? Hope you feel better soon!
