    Hi

I'm kim and ivd got around 8 st to lose. I lost 5 st on ww ( old plan) before DD and also 4.5 st on cambridge plan last year. I'm a mature university student about to go into my last year, arrived with 2 beautiful children and severely hypothyroid.

Ive vw decided that ww is the diet for me.... I didn't get in too well with new plan but I think domd of that was psychological.

Im 35 but feel like I've not really 'lived yet' as I'm always hiding away and feeling like a second class citizen( in laws are VERY good at making me feel this way) and I'm my profession (to be) I see lots of overweight people znd the problems it causes.... Well....Ivd had enough!!!! J want to feel like I deserve things, and naked my kids proud not be scared that they are going to get bullied off having a fat mummy.

So, here goes! Weight loss journey will bd starting tomorrow!!!! And I'm hoping to bd feeling confident by this tons next year when hopefully I will bd graduating!!!!

Lovely to to 'meet' you all!!!

    Kim :)))

Good luck with your new eating plan! I've got a similar amount to lose, I'm trying to think of it as one pound at a time as the whole picture is just too scary!

You've got to break it down into smaller targets. In January this year I had 10 stone to lose. That was scary. But half a stone at a time isn't so bad - and if you find a plan that suits you it doesn't even feel like you're "on a diet". I had chips for dinner three times last week and lost 4.5 lbs! (Obviously, they were baked with Frylite, not deep fried! but they were blinkin' good!).

Chezz is so right too - this place is amazing for support (she's one of the best!).

So keep posting and reading - we'll all do what we can to help you.

Hey, I'm on ww and started at 19 stone 5 lbs, I agree that small goals are the best, it's easy to off track when you feel like you've a long way to go. Since end of feb I've lost 25lbs, could probably have lost more but I have taken weeks off for going on holiday and for when I had exams so I've had a couple of gains, but more than 3/4 of my journey so far has been losses.

I love ww as it's very realistic for me, and it's helped me see that by making small (sometimes unnoticeable) changes, I can still have the Same food that got me heavy in the first place. The best thing is that it has helped me realise what portion size I actually need, not the one I want. Takes a lot less to fill me now, my stomach has obviously shrunk and I find myself saying no to some foods that bag me up as it takes the enjoyment out of eating a meal, who wants to feel all bagged up two mins in, and not be able to move afterwards ??

Anyway, good luck, and keep updating xx

    Hi Kim, I'm Kym :D

Well done on taking the first step m'lovely. We're quite a busy little forum really, we're all in the same place and we all know how it feels to be battling against our weight when our weight just wants to tire us out and make us ache, sore, or swell up. Especially in this weather!

You DO deserve things, hun. Don't let the weight hold you back from getting everything you any or having new experiences. After all, it's only a temporary thing, you're doing the hard work to get it off!

Like you've said, take it one step at a time. It can affect you to get too carried away when you feel like you've been SO good but you've STS'd or even gained an lb or so (which isn't uncommon, especially in this weather, and usually is just water!). Sometimes you don't lose any scale weight which can be disheartening, but for this reason it's always good to track your measurements say monthly as when you measure you're likely down inches (and clothes sizes!)
