A birthday present to myself: to reach Target!

I have decided that 2014 is going to be the year I finally hit Target. More specifically, my birthday is when I'm going to hit Target - it will be the perfect gift to myself!

I currently have 27.5lb to lose to get to my 10st target, and yesterday I realised that I also have 27 weeks until my Birthday on 8th July. Coincidence or what!? That works out at pretty much 1lb a week, which is a realistic weight loss and more than doable, now that I have decided to stop messing around and really crack on with this.

I weigh in on a Tuesday, so tonight will be my first stab at my 27 week challenge. My Birthday is also on a Tuesday and I just think it would be amazing to walk into group on my birthday and be told I've reached my Target. But hey, I wouldn't complain if I somehow manage to reach it before then ;) hehe.

Anyway, I thought I'd make this thread to see if anyone else has a similar aim? Is anyone else wanting to be at target for their birthday? It doesn't matter how old you're going to be, how much you have to lose, when your birthday is...I'd love you to come and join me on my mission!

27.5lb and 27 weeks to go!!

Hi, Good Luck and Well Done for being so positive. Is it okay if I join as it will keep me motivated and on track as I'm not doing too well at the moment!
It's my birthday in May and I would like to lose about a stone - or a stone and a half if possible. I also think this is achievable and realistic as I have about 4 1/2 months.

Hello Ann! Thanks for joining me :)

I definitely think a stone and a half is doable by May. You can do it! I am hoping that the more people that join us the more support and encouragement we'll get along the way from this thread.

Which day do you weigh in? And how's your week been? Xx

Well, I've had another great week 100% on plan! Looking forward to WI tomorrow night and hoping again for just 1lb off to keep me in the right direction for my birthday target!

How's your week been, Ann? x

Hello lovely! Thank you very much :)

Oh fab, nice to have some company! I also think your goal is achievable, you can smash that no problem.

Good luck for WI tomorrow. Have you had a good week? Looking forward to seeing how you get on! X

I've been sooooo good this week, on track 100%! Had a few green days and the rest EE so we'll see how it goes. I don't think I could do red days as I'd be lost without carbs lol! Will let you know how I get on tomorrow night.

Well done on your weight loss, you have done so well! How long has it taken you?

Excellent! Sounds like you've had a fantastic week - I'm sure you'll have a nice loss to match :)

Thank you! I still have a little while to go until I'm at my target, but I'm chipping away at it slowly but surely. It's taken me quite a while really, I've been doing this for a couple of years now. I messed around quite a bit throughout my journey so it's been up and down. I'm still working on losing my Christmas gain - I gained 7lb over Christmas and New Year and have lost 4lb of that in the last two weeks. 3lb to go until I'm back at my lowest weight. My one and only New Year Commitment (I don't do "resolutions") is to make sure I get my target in 2014...obviously hoping to do it for my birthday!

Happy Wednesday. Good luck for weigh in! :) x

    Happy Wednesday everyone!

I'll just copy and paste this from my diary....

Went to WI tonight....I stayed the same!! Can't believe it. It was my first week and can honestly say I've stuck to the plan 100%. I had forgotten to take my diary sheet along to show her but she says to give her a call tomorrow and we can go through it. All the other times I've been on SW I've always lost 2 or 3lbs in my first week. Disappointed!!

Sorry you're dissappointed with your maintain! I have heard of other people staying the same in their first week too though, sometimes it just takes a little time for your body to adjust.

Hopefully talking through your food diary with your consultant will help - maybe she will spot something that could have affected your weight loss this week. Could anything else be affecting it, i.e. star week, etc? If not, just keep on going with it and I'm sure things will even themselves out and you'll see a nice loss next Wednesday!

Don't give up, you can do this x

Aw thanks for your post Stevie, it makes me feel better when people encourage me to keep going!

I really can't think of anything apart from I didn't drink a lot of water and I had a lot of pasta, I know it's free but maybe too much for me?

    Anyway, onwards and upwards!

    How's your day going? xxxx

That's what this forum is all about hun, encouragement and keeping each other going! Stick with it, you'll crack it! Sometimes it can take a week or so for our bodies to adjust.

I've had a good day today thanks! Had a really yummy lunch, it felt so naughty and not like a 'diet' at all. I had a weight watchers Wholemeal wrap (which is a healthy extra b) stuffed with chunky chicken pieces and cucumber, 2 cheesestrings (healthy a), a packet of French fries (4 Syns) and a Passionfruit flavour Danio yogurt (1.5 Syns). It was so good!!

Are you having something nice for tea? Any plans for the evening? :) xxxx

Last night I went to a friends for tea. She had made macaroni cheese (with lots of cheese and butter eeeek!) for her and our other two friends. I was so good and had pasta with a tomato and basil sauce instead, it was so nice! She had made a huge salad also so I filled up on that. They then had New York Style Cheesecake and I had a Mullerlight - can you see that shiny halo?!

Your lunch yesterday sounded so nice, I'm going to have to try that!

Any plans for the weekend? :)

Wow!! That's a mega proud moment hun. It can be so tempting to stray off plan when you're surrounded by others who are tucking into yummy non-SW food, so well done you!! I bet that felt good :D

Tonight is date night for me and my boyfriend. We're going to Nando's and then to the cinema. I'm going to have butterfly chicken (3.5 Syns), grilled halloumi cheese (3 Syns) and mixed leaf salad at Nando's, yum!! And then for cinema snacks I'm taking a chocolate orange HiFi (HExB) and a bag of Haribo sugar free Bonissimo sweets (6.5 Syns). So excited and happy I can enjoy myself and still stick to plan!! The rest of the weekend will be quite I think. I'll be stopping at my boyfriends tonight and tomorrow night.

What about yourself? Anything interesting going on? :) xxx

Hi, I would like to join you. I started on 3rd January and am following the plan at home.

I am going on holiday at the end of July. It would be great if I could lose at least 1lb per week between now and then. Will have to work out how many weeks it us.........

Oooh what are you going to see at the cinema? My husband and I love going to the cinema! Latest one I've seen is the Nelson Madela film, it was excellent. Your cinema snacks sound fab! Nando's is an excellent choice for dinner!

This weekend is a quiet one for me, think I'll have a wander round the shops tomorrow afternoon as I have some xmas vouchers to spend :) I'm on antibiotics for a tooth abscess so can't even have a little wine :(

    Hi Lindsey!

A holiday is a great incentive, where are you off to?

We are off to Majorca. It will be our 6th time there but we all love it.

Had a bit of a blow out tonight. 2 satsumas a yoghurt, a fox's chocolate biscuit and 2 alpen light bars! Think I am satisfied now though! Not too bad as having a green day so alpen will be hexb and biscuit is probably 5 syns.
