    Hi, any readers.

    I have decided to start a diary after hitting the bottom yesterday and scoffing my kids' christmas treats (bad mummy!!) and then feeling awful about it (bad dieter!!). I MUST get to grips with being good and as a last stab attempt I'm coming on here to try and keep myself focused and give myself a goal of being proud of myself at the end of every day.

    I don't have a massive amount of weight to lose - probably a stone and a half would do it - but I would love to step on scales and see 9 stone something. Since this hasn't happened since I was about 14, it's unlikely to happen, but if any diet can do it for me I know it's this one. I got down to 11.5 just before Christmas, then fed myself for a month and am ten pounds up. I look worse and I feel worse. My body really hated carbs initially, and I felt bloated, sick etc a lot. I perservered though (well done me!) and my body got used to crap again and was fine! I am hoping to get back to the place where my body celebrates being healthy. I am looking forward to feeling nice again.

    So far today, all is well though I am starving! I'm going home soon and will have porridge for lunch....hopefully I can stay strong for the rest of the day.

    Day one (again) = mostly successful. I've had milkshake, porridge, chilli with mushrooms and am sitting next to a lovely bar and a cup of tea. Lovely. Have fallen by the wayside with a couple of crisps and I have probably gone well over my milk allowance, but I think I always do that and I've still had fair losses so I'm not changing that yet.

    I've been psychoanalysing myself and have come to a decision that I am a goal-oriented dieter. I find it pretty easy to lose weight when I have a specific goal, but hard to maintain focus without one. So I looked at what I had coming up which could be classed as a target. It's pathetic, but about four times a year I meet up with a group of colleagues, many of whom are considerably younger, skinnier and more beautiful than me. I always end up feeling a little bit glum about my appearance on those nights....I am blatantly jealous! Ha! Anyway, two of them are off on maternity leave at the moment so when we next meet up they won't have seen me for a couple of months. I'm figuring that's a pretty good target. 1- they haven't seen me so will notice any difference. 2- they will notice and they will comment on it, so I'll get a genuine picture of how I look and 3- it would be great to leave that night feeling boosted. NB; all of these are my issues, not theirs- they are all lovely girls!

    So, my mini target is get to next Friday when I have a date night with my husband. If I have managed up till then I will allow myself to drink wine with him (not dodgy food).

    Main target = 2nd March, girls night.

    Six weeks, 16 pounds....seems a fair target, huh? Come on me.....I can do it, right??

    Had a successful day today - apart from 7 smarties...... Felt great this morning, but I've been very hungry this afternoon. Husband is out tonight so may be a long, lonely night trying not to eat! Would really like a glass of wine too, but will resist.

    i had leeks and bacon for tea and it was truly delicious! I read a thread on the main page about whether bacon was okay. Opinion was divided, but other people had it with success, so I thought a few rashers, bare of fat, couldn't hurt too much. And it was so nice, and felt so naughty, that it was well worth it.

    sometimes you eat stuff when you're on a diet that really is delicious. Why is it that as soon as you've finished actively trying to lose weight, you forget how nice some of the foods were???

    I've got a new bike being delivered tomorrow, so am hoping I may get some movement in this weekend too. Exciting!

    Everything seems so much more positive and do-able than it did 48 hours ago. Time heals!

    Feel slimmer today- belly is flatter, jeans are looser. LOVE IT!

    Had a good day yesterday and did a bike ride. Snuck onto the scales and the loss isn't as dramatic as I'd like but I definitely feel slimmer and feel healthier, so all good...

    Just need to find me some thinspirational pictures to keep me going when times are tough. That's my next mission!

    Had a big internal struggle tonight as I was cooking (popping in microwave!) husbands curry....what I wouldn't give to eat that....but went and weighed myself, lost a pound since yesterday so didn't- no point breaking the pattern - perhaps I've entered ketosis and weight will drop off now. I have been disappointed by rate of loss up to now, so could do with a big drop. Think I am in ketosis as I haven't been hungry at all today. I've had a shake, a salad (with hot dog sausage - not on the list but very low carbs) and a soup. I'll have a bar in a bit as my evening treat.

    Feeling strong - Rihanna here I come!

    I love that Adrian! If, when, I weigh ten stone I may insist that people call me Ri-Ri! The fact that I am a pale skinned, blonde haired, blue eyed frump asides!!!

    had shake, soup and porridge today and not been hungry at all. Brilliant!

    i have ordered some ketostix today- don't really know why, but I think they may keep me on the straight and narrow...I feel if I have a definite sign that I'm in ketosis, I won't be willing to rescind it. It's all about the triks of the mind.

    I'm not going to weigh in till Friday, which will be just over two weeks since I started and just under two weeks since I got serious! I suspect I may have only shifted 4 or 5 pounds, which doesn't seem much compared to other people's weight losses, but where else can I lose 10 pounds in a month without losing motivation.

    ROAR! This diet will be mine!

    Another good day, although I have been hungry at points. Had my first shake at 9.30, where I usually have it at about 11.30, so was very ready for lunch!

    I've had two frylighted eggs and swede chips for tea - branching out from the food packs (go me!). It felt like a naughty meal, even though it wasn't, and on those grounds I suspect it will become a regular meal for me. Hooray.

    Hope any readers are doing okay too? X

    It's great wobblytum, though actually I'm around half a stone heavier than I was before Christmas when NOONE noticed!!

    Youre doing great- how long have you been s&s'ing?

    Ah man, just had a packet of crisps! WHY???

    i opened them for my son, had one and then, when he didn't eat them, I did.

    10.3g of carbs.....if I level out my carbs to fewer than 60, will I still be okay?

    so annoyed with myself.

    There's nothing you can do about it now hun so try not to worry too much x Make sure you have all your packs today though, don't skip one to make up for it. I think it depends on how your body deals with carbs as to whether it will affect ketosis.
    It's so easy to eat without thinking :-(

    Stupid me! Think it was momentary weakness caused by ketostix not showing ketosis and the fact that I love crisps! Ha!

    i was going to skip a meal though, so thanks for that advice.x
