Advice from dukan dieters pls

Hi all,

I've been doing the Cambridge diet and quite enjoy the packets tbh it's just I find it difficult to socialise/eat out when following the plan so I'm wondering how easy 'eating out' is on the dukan diet? Also on average what is the weekly weight loss?

Many thanks....Saska :)

Ive regularly eaten out whilst doing dukan - I adapted the menu to suit by always having a PV with fish, steak etc
Ive lost 49lbs over 28 weeks ranges from 1 to 2 lbs per week. Im struggling now to lose the last few pounds left to reach me to my true weight. I have loved doing Dukan but no diet is easy though.

I've been out a few times as well. If I'm on a PP day then I stick with sashimi or a brazilian grill and if I'm on PV it's pretty much any meat and veg :D

I've lost ~25lbs in 7 weeks, which I'm ecstatic about, losing about 2-4lbs a week. It's slowing down a lil now but I expected that so I'm not fazed :)

Dukan is a great diet, I would reccommend it to everyone :)

Steak and salad (no dressing) and a diet coke is my usual restaurant order. Or fish, if you find it just plain grilled. Or fresh seafood platters. Omelettes otherwise...

Weight loss will depend on your start weight too...

tks everyone. i have some more packets of my cambridge left and meanwhile i will buy the dukan book and make a decision. the dukan does seem more flexible plus i think eating 'normal' food is better for the body but that's just me. good luck everyone and tks again :)

Done both Saska and both work but Cambridge faster. However when I stopped cambrige I piled the weight on immediately but with Dukan there are several stages which become a way of life that makes true sense to me! You have to work out what will suit you. I also prefer eating proper food which I missed on Cambridge though like you I could do it!!!

you have said just what i've been thinking! yes i want this to be a way of life. i have shifted about 20 lbs on the cambridge but looking long term i have to come to grips with eating as a way of life and not a 'diet' as such. have a lovely day and :thankyou:....saskax

Good luck Saska...

One tip is to read the book, as you said you will, but before making the switch get your menus sorted for the first week, and check any queries with us (as the book is vague on certain things). Find your oatbran and Total 0% yoghurts etc. Preparation is key - particularly at the outset.

tks joanne. the book came today but as i am going to be in the usa for a week in about 10 days plus lots going on here inbetween, i plan to read the book on my return and as you say shop for my groceries and check back on here. i am holding my own weight wise but want to move about another 10 lbs of blubber and then maintain and i think the dukan diet is the way forward for me. tks again and have a good week :)
