Alex's Diary - No big goals, just taking one day at a time!

Yay! This is sounding more like an alcoholics anonymous forum than a weigh-loss one but what the hell!
I'm off for another date with our friend Mr V tonight (at least he doesn't mind us sharing him around!)...and I'm feeling better than I have done for a few days :) I did do a bit of the moping/weeping this morning, but getting ready to go out has perked me up a bit.

I went shopping earlier as well, and bought a new dress (apple green flowery maxi dress from Next - sounds hideous but it's nice, honestly) AAANNNDDD it's a size 18!! There's no way on earth that I'm really a size 18 (more like 22) but it fits and I love it. Now bring on the summer so I can wear it!!

So onto the food diary (I nearly forgot!)
Porridge with museli & raisins
WW tomato soup, WW bagel with Philly Light
Few grapes
Sirloin steak, jacket potato (with a bit of Lurpack light), side salad & reduced fat colelsaw

Oh, and I forgot to say that I am at the exact weight now as I was when I bought my Wii Fit on 31/7/09. A couple of days after that, I split up with my boyfriend and set about putting on a shedload more weight, so it's kinda nice to turn the clock back a bit weight-wise.

Ooohh the dress sounds fab, hope you get to wear it soon! Mr V visiting here again tonight too. My laptop arrived but didn't work so one of my techy gadget nerdy geek brothers has taken it away to sort it out. Failing that it will have to go back.
Have a great night out tonight and keep that chin up. And well done on the weight anniversary, if that's what you'd call it?

Thanks KB...Think I might've managed a pound, but I'll soon find out when I get to work.
I'd like more, but I don't really deserve it! I overate quite a bit over the bank holiday - nothing really naughty (lamb chops one night, steak the other, but with jacket potatoes and coleslaw) but the calories/fat was quite high. Not as bad as sending out for a pizza, or having fish & chips or something, but I still had the predicted visit from Mr Tango!
I also drank quite a lot on Saturday too (who...me? ;)) which won't have helped in the weight-loss stakes!

2lbs off!! YAY! :D
Really happy with that, considering I was only expecting a pound! Now I need to get my arse into gear and lose a bit before I go away next Tuesday....I'm bound to gain while I'm away, so I need to build up a buffer before I go :)

Well, I'm going to Manchester with some friends on Tuesday to see Peter Kay - we're making a day of it and staying overnight in Machester.
Then, on Wednesday I'll be catching the train to Newport, South Wales, to meet some other friends for a little mini-break. We'll stay there for one night, drive down to Cardiff the following day and stay there for a night as well.
It's going to be a bit manic to be honest, even though I'm looking forward to it :) I booked the Peter Kay and the Wales trip sepeately without realising that they were on consecutive days. And when we booked the Wales trip, we couldn't get two nights in Cardiff, hence one night in Newport and one in Cardiff itself. We booked them during the Travelodge £9 sale though, so we can't complain!
I'm going with my friend David who likes Dr Who, and I like Gavin and Stacey, so we'll be having a bit of TV pilgramage, lol :D However, he also my partner in crime when it comes to food, so I'm bound to come back a few pounds heavier!
I've got to be careful, because I'm already starting to get into holiday mode food-wise. I keep reminding myself that I don't actually go until Tuesday, despite the fact that I finish work tomorrow, but I'm already starting to pick at food quite a bit.

Think I'll try writing my food diary again for the next few days, in the hope that it'll help keep me focussed!
So this is yesterday:

Porridge with raisins (220ish cals)
Thorntons mini caramel shortbread (about 80 cals, and it's about an inch square!)
Thorntons mini chocolate brownie (about 70 cals - damn those birthdays at work!)
WW soup (75ish cals), WW bagel (145cals), Philly Light
4 biscuits - posh ones, eaten while I was visiting my friend and her new baby (4 days old and beautiful...cluck, cluck)
WW Chicken Tikka Masala (360ish cals), WW Naan Bread (105cals), about 4 poppadoms (40ish cals each - two eaten while wandering in the kitchen)
WW toffee sundae ice cream (122 cals)

So not a good day....but I've just realised how much WW stuff I'm eating! I should take out shares!!

Save your calories for going away, don't waste them now. Sounds like you'll have a great time, I love Peter Kay. Your intake could be SOOOO much worse if it wasn't for WW stuff (Just been to Poundland to stock up on their crisps!) Have a great time on your hols,

Thanks Clarri :) I hope you weren't too bored!
Losing weight and staying focussed is more or less a constant battle with me, especially when 'real life' gets in the way. I also tend to lose weight very erratically (my own fault!), but it's going in the right direction which is the main thing, and I do feel a lot better about myself than I did back in January.
I'm determined that I won't let this weight loss journey stop me from living and enjoying life, but occasions like next week are a real test for me....ultimately I'd like to be able to enjoy holidays and things without going completely off the rails, but I think that's something I need to work on :)

I'm glad your first day on the Xenical has gone well...have you ever tried them before? I really do find them helpful, both in terms of speeding up my weight-loss, and stopping me from being tempted to eat very fatty foods.
Hope day two goes just as well, and thanks again for popping in :)

Morning,
I too have loads of issues with food/emotions etc. Its a constant battle, and Ive come to realise that its one I will be trying to manage for the rest of my life.
I need to get my weight down as Im seeing a specialist in July about a boob reduction, so Ive really got to go for this.
Going to start a xenical diary today, so I can get opinions.
xx

Yeah I've also come to the conclusion that I'm ALWAYS going to have to think carefully about food, and about my weight in general. What scares me the most is actually getting to goal and trying to maintain. Sad as it sounds, that's something I've never done in at least the last 10 years! I've either been on a mission to lose weight, or to sabotage everything I've acheived and put it all back on again.
I think it's worse because I've lost 5+ stones twice over already, so this is the third time of trying to lose a LOT of weight. The trouble is that I was convinced last time that I'd never put it back on, and obviously I did! That's why I'm also trying to tackle the emotional side of things this time...

So, back to my diary :)
This is yesterday - not a bad day although I was VERY hungry. It did help that I had to go to the hairdressers and to vote, so I was away from the fridge for a while!

Porridge with raisins
Alpen Light bar
ASDA morrocan chicken & couscous salad (very nice and only 230 cals)
Morrisons Eat Smart melba toast x 6 (74cals) with Philly Light (only a scraping)
ASDA fresh tastes red thai curry (390ish cals, and lovely)
WW chocolate brownie desert

Got my shopping from ASDA Online this time - I usually shop with Tesco so it's nice having something different to try.

And this is today's so far, although I'll edit if I end up scoffing more than I plan to...

Porridge
Oatybar
Beans on toast
Apple
And I'm having an ASDA fresh tastes chicken tikka masala tonight with a WW naan bread...I was really impressed with the thai curry last night so I hope this one is as nice.
Probably a WW desert
