Alli's 2011 "Head stuff" diet

Minimins' Got Talent - Well done Alli, even if you decide not to take part, wow for being picked. You must be highly thought of. I agree with KC that ambition doesn't have to be about earning the most, fancy title, treading on people to get ahead it is about being the best you can be....whatever it is we do. I guess, in my job, I have absolutely no ambition whatsoever :D

Good luck with the continuing good work on the head stuff xx

Well 1lb on isn't so bad, thats what I gained last week after a disastorious week..... my children are still off school today so sitting in bed with macbook..... lol Have a good day xx

Oh I wish I could start the day in bed with my laptop instead of getting up at 5.30 to walk the dog :D

Alli, good that you are OK with the 1lb... if it makes sense then it's not so hard to take on board, and I think shows how you have come with the head stuff. I still derail with such depressing frequency I wonder if I will ever find an even keel.

BUT... wanted to say, awesome on being picked for the talent scheme. For what it is worth, I
question that ambition (or ambition for money/status at any rate) is always essential for success. I don't think it is. Those things don't matter to me either, but being the best I can be at what I do DOES, and I do like to push myself, find new challenges, please my 'company' & clients, complete a project well. I also like to be acknowledged for working hard, that is something that matters to me. Not sure is any of that makes sense, just wanted to ship in with the idea that you don't have to burn with ruthless ambition to do well for your company & be worth their investment and support!

Something to consider, anyway.

Thanks - we sound similar in that sense! I love the feeling of having done a good job but I'm not aggressive at all in my management style. I feel much more positive about it today. Whatever comes out of it, it's great that my manager thinks I'm worth the investment! :) I feel like I pretend at being a manager most of the time and expect to be found out at any given moment - feel a bit like that about being a Mum as well
Well done on being picked for the talent programme :D x

Thanks, hun!

Hi Alli,

I hope you're well and you're having a lovely Monday. :D

Hey Jess - Blinding headache most of the day but fine now. Am sitting on our sofa wiht my legs up as Molly and Poppy puppy are bumtucking back and forth through the house :D. Mayhem - just the way I like it!

Aww thanks Chels! I do love doing a good job and I know I'm good at my job - well I talk for a living (pretty much) - how hard can it be :D

I've stuck to WW all day so far and still have dinner to go! I'm so pleased! I really want to have a full week of sticking to it as I keep messing about and not getting anywhere. I think weighing daily is a bad thing for me so will leave the scales well alone until next Monday.

Right off to put the children to bed - and settle down with Ms Beck!

I was put forward for a talent programme last week at work and i have to decide whether to accept that. Basically it's about investing in people who could become future company leaders. One of our directors questioned my ambition and she was dead right. I'm not ambitious, never have been. I like to do a good job and I like to sort stuff out, but I don't care about job titles or status. It's just not my thing. ;)

Sounds to me then as though you are exactly the kind of person who should be doing this! Perfect in fact - an inteligent, balanced, decent woman. :D

Well I feel the same. Even with 4, one of them will throw something new at me and I'm floundering. Still, they know I don't have all the answers, but I love them unconditionally and so dearly and actually, that's good enough!
It's fantastic as they grow older, they all support each other and me and their dad as well. A formidable lot we are I think. There's a jokey family saying that the girls started when someone/something's being discussed - 'Do we like so and so?'......or, 'What do we think about so and so?' !! It creased us up, as if there had to be a family consensus about what we all thought! But once as we all sat around the supper table, helpless with laughter at DD1, I realised that we are, by accident, certainly not by design - a very, very happy family and the 'extra's' that are usually hanging about only add to this. So don't give it a second thought, just enjoy them, it all gets better and better! xxx

I love your descriptions of your family - they remind me about my own childhood! Very happy and often centred around meals :). I try to do the same for my children (having said that they're having breakfast at the moment while I'm catching up on here ) and hope they will remember their childhood fondly.

I was firmly back on the wagon yesterday so am very happy about this! There's no reason why I can't stay seated today as well so that's my plan! Off to plan my food now before taking the kids to school. Have a great day everyone!

Have a great day Alli! Wagons roll!

@ Bess's post, read it last night and sighed, SO lovely.

The syns are there to be used so not off plan at all although using them on whisky seems such a waste (shudder - bad teenage whisky experience - can't stand the stuff :D)! I'm so glad that SW is working for you! Which plan are you using?

You sound like you are excellent at your job Alli and I love the bit where you say you feel like you are playing at Manager.... can only be good if work makes you feel this way.

I remember sitting around the table when all my children were at home, there were 10 of us at one time and even now we sit around the table with the 5 of us, I think family meal times together are important, we also all sit and eat breakfast together.

I'm doing the Extra Easy Alli, the Green and Red plans are still there but my 'resistant to being too organised gene' kicks in at those. The EE really is; it's dieting for dummies - perfect for me! (I honestly do mean that!)

Breakfast together? You are better organised than me and my lot then! I think we need one of those old fashioned boards they used to have in offices where you flick the sign to 'in' or 'out' by your name!
My MIL asked me how DD1 was last Friday, I hadn't actually seen her since Monday - we both had nutty working schedules last week.

Aw Bess, your family sounds like such a happy one, so credit to you for that and big credit for using 4 syns for whisky and not wasting them on yukky junk food type stuff :D xx

Alli, you are sounding so positive and happy with what you are doing. Fab. The head stuff takes time, but little by little you can feel it working, like a slight shift going on. Keep up the good work hun xx

Clearly you are a woman after my own heart Chels! xx

Indeed, I used to save up all my extra points to have a good session once a week. Wine, whiskey, loose men!!! lol xxx

:D:D:D

If I drink I end up snacking so I'm staying clear!

I've just found out that there's a Zumba class 2 minutes walk from my house tonight (8pm) and am trying to decide whether to go. No one wants to go with me this week as it's such short notice and i'm not sure I'm brave enough to go on my own...

Could do with the exercise though as I've eaten more than I should today!:rolleyes:
