Total Solution Angel72's Big Bulge Battle

I'm in a specialist Spinal unit Susie. Five more patients coming in today. I couldn't stand the thought of no physio over the weekend so they lent me a five pound weight. It's heavy! Yet I've lost the equivalent of seven of them! It really puts it into perspective.

The nurse threatened to put a speed limit on my wheelchair this morning. I managed to do all my arm exercises with the weight and had a shower too. I'm now back in bed resting (harrumph) for the rest of the day awaiting my visitors.

Choc mint in shake for lunch with a cup of tea and 500ml water.

Doing brilliantly Angel :)

I was just looking at the pick your own 84 packs. It's a good deal :) Lots in there I like, but can't get in bumper packs, and some new stuff I'd like to try. Have got enough here to be going on with for a bit though, so need to resist purchasing just yet. These packs take up a fair amount of cupboard space! lol.

Lmao at the speed limit on your wheelchair :D You're so determined and motivated, I'm sure your recovery time will be shortened because of it. Looking forward to hearing what your next weigh in is, whenever that may be, although I'm sure they'd weigh you each week if you asked them to? :)

Thanks Jayne, look at you almost in the 18's!!! I'm feeling very "free" not weighing. I don't feel any different except less bloated. I'm going to wait to see if anyone starts to notice. Im looking forward to them rechecking their measurements next time they record my weight. That would be cool and show I'm really making an effort. I'm certainly drinking plenty.

Strawberry shake for breaky followed by an hours physio "excited squeak"

I bet your weight and measurements will show an improvement and you will gain more Exante followers. x

I've no idea on measurements. I am making the choice to have omelete when it's on the menu and liver for dinner. So I guess it's a mix but rehab physio is hard work so I need a few extra cals. Surgeons happy but said the internal damage can take up to six months to heal. I was out of bed 3 hours and I'm zonked.

Im not hungry, have furry tongue and feel chilly so I think ketosis had occurred. I hope the food doesn't slow me down too much but even though I'm taking a pill to line my Tum some of the meds have to be taken with food.

I I can hardly keep my eyes open so time for a snooze. X

Sounds like your doing well Angel. Keeping my fingers crossed for a quick recovery for you so you can get home soon as your able. Well done for even thinking about Exante while in hospital after an op, your so determined. I think you've just got to take each day as it comes and decide if the packs are enough or if you need some food as well, as you say omelettes and anything low carb. Your doing really well. X

No snooze occurred. I have a new ward mate who has a large family and uses the TV without headphones. Normally it's two at visiting but its nice the rules are more relaxed here. I'm a bit upset because I lifted my son up while I was in my wheelchair and it really hurt. He's terthing and was tired and hungry. Coming to visit is just messing up his routine. I just feel it's been a big mistake having this op. I should have just carried on, after all Id coped for ages before they knew the damage. Now we have to find money we haven't got for adaptations I hate to have and even when I get home I can't take care of my son or go to groups with him anymore. By the time I'm healed I have to go back to work.

I only had a few bits of liver for dinner so I had a bar. The way I feel just now I could eat all the chees and biscuits on the night drink trolley. I've got ready for bed so hopefully I will just drift off.

Sorry to hear your feeling a bit down Angel, it must be difficult at the moment but you know your doing what's best for you and your family in the long run. Resist this cheese and biscuits, we all know that doesn't help either, it just makes you feel worse when you've eaten them. Maybe planing something to do in a few months time as a family would help, then you'd have something to look forward to once your feeling better and back in work?
Poor you with your noisey neighbour as well, I can imagine that must be difficult too.

I remember the surgeon telling me that after my big operation it is normal to suffer from depression as it is something to do with the anaesthetic. I hope after a good night's sleep you waken refreshed and your usual sparkly self.

No cheese and biscuits . I think things felt worse because since the start of December three lovely friends have passed from cancer. The latest just on Thursday. Together with pain and all the stuff in here it's been tough.

Ive had two choc mint shakes today and a litre of water. Physio was just the same, arms only with 15 mins on motorised bike. Apparently I'm still in recovery for 6 months before proper rehab can start. That was a shock. I won't get to see my son for several days now because he's asleep and my hubby had to set off to make the 3pm meeting here. My sister in law is looking after little one.

i saw myself in the mirror earlier and my hips look more enormous than ever. It's the place I need it to go most. Ho hum. Has anyone else notice it coming off the top first?

Hi Angel I am not seeing anything you are posting now, don't know why but it means I can't answer you! x

I have just discovered if I go to quote I can read your post but not reply that way!
Sorry to hear about your friends.
About losing from the top half, I wish, my bust is my biggest part but I always lose from my skinny arms and legs first. I think wherever your body is heaviest is the place it stores the fat and you lose there last. Not helpful I know and certainly not designed to cheer you up. Hopefully you will get out of hospital soon and get a lovely surprise when you step on the scales. Take care of yourself. x

Sorry to hear about your friends Angel, it isn't easy :hug99:

I think Mere's right, wherever we're biggest it seems to be the last place it goes from. My arms and bust are still quite big but my tummy and hips are shrinking. It'll be different once you get home and try on some of your other clothes, you'll probably find they're all too big for you! x

How odd You can't see my posts Mere. Hopefully a new day and phone reset will help. Thanks to you too Ali. I guess the stubborn fat is where is accumulated the most. My loss is usually even 2" off bust, waist and hips per stone.

Date to go home is 13 feb if the house assessment on tues 10 goes ok. I've to have a bed put in the dining room and live downstairs only until I get the lift. I've no shower downstairs and no heating in the downstairs loo so I reckon my circulation is gonna get a shock.

After the meeting to decide on when I could go home Hubby and I went for costa coffee skinny Americano as a treat and went back to the ward for my final shake of vanilla. It was so hard to not have something, especially will the extremely low mood I was in. My husband helped me stay strong.

I started with a dodgy tum at Costa, he left at sevenish and I spen the next two hours being very poorly in the bathroom V&D. I told a nurse who asked if I'd eaten and about the packs etc (I'm on day six) I said it wasn't that. They whipped me and my stuff to a side room and literally dumped me there with a bowl. One of the ladies in the ward I was on just barraged me with "what do you expect when you do protein packs and not eat). My response was don't comment on something you haven't tried. I could hear the nurses station too saying how stupid I am but the fact is I feel better since I restarted than when I was on hospital food. I had an omelete yesterday! I came off a medication yesterday. I could have s bug!

Fortunately after an an hour a nice nurse came to check on me, helped me get my bed clothes sorted and gave me anti sickness. I'm now confind to this room for 48 hours. Honestly I'd be happy to stay in it despite it being a bit run down. I definately don't want to go back to nag me to death know it all noisy lady in the last place. Shame as I had a view and now I miss physio tomorrow and possibly my son coming.

Im sticking to plan tomorrow that's for sure. It's the only thing around here I can guarantee won't make me sick.

Good of night all. Happy wishes for tomorrow xxx

That's terrible and so rude of them to speak to you like that. It's more likely you've caught the sickness bug going around, the hospital in my area was closed to visitors because of it. I really hope you feel better soon, drink lots of fluids and take care xx

Good news and bad in that post Angel, good that you are getting home next week not so good that house is not quite ready. Bad news that you were sick and very bad news that people were being nasty to you about the packs. Direct them to this site and let them see how many happy campers are on here losing weight, keeping it off and leading a healthy life style with exercise, me being one of them. x
