Your right Kim. Woke up feeling good that I hadn't eaten anything after my dinner. Such a relief to be honest as lately I wake up thinking "eugh I ate loads". Feel bit bunged up today and have no inclination to eat. Going for lunch as I Feel the need to make the effort but....

Kim I bought a whole chicken for dinner, what's the best way to cook it? Before I have just seasoned it and small spray of fry light but a more interesting way would be welcomed x

If I buy a whole chicken, I tend to just roast it & have a roast chicken dinner. In fact thats what we're having today.....roast chicken, SW roasties, steamed carrots, cauliflower, brussel sprouts & mashed swede.....mash the swede & add about 75g light Phili (thats for 4 dinners) & season with salt & white pepper.
If you want to make it a bit more interesting, cut a lemon in half & pop the 2 halves up its bum!
DH is cooking it today & he's cutting up the chicken so he can use the carcass to make a gravy, but thats too fiddly for me! So what I normally do to make a scrummy gravy is, I put all the veggie peelings in a pot with water, boil up for about 45 - 60 mins, strain & use the veggie peeling water to add to gravy granules x

I'm having a stress ladies!!

I cant find my new SW book and I need to know how much chicken I can have as a HEXB on a green day?

115g raw weight, no idea how much that is though I never have meat on a green day

Just back from a 5 mile powerwalk with Charlie & DH. Its a beautiful day & there is nothing lovelier than walking on a sunny cold day. Just going to have scrambled eggs & bacon for brunch & then a roast chicken dinner.
Well ladies, after a long chat with DH on our walk, he was adamant he wants to throw me a big party for my big 50!!!!!!! next year. Now I've got my head around that I will be that age soon, Im going to embrace it & party! So, I've got just under 7 months to hit my target of 8 stone & believe me I will give his bank balance a bashing for a new party frock!! x

I have a 400g frozen bag, so might just use half of it for 2 of us and call it 1 HEXB.

Thanks hunni x

I've changed my stats now & goal date is my birthday May 3rd '13 which is a Friday & my WI day is a Friday.....a good omen me thinks! So, that works out at 28 weeks 5 days & 16.5lbs to go = 0.57lb per week to lose on average! It can & will be done! I do like a challenge & an end date as it gives me something to aim for. Once I've completed the Xmas challenge I'll start my birthday challenge.

Are you still doing your OU course Nikki?
If you're sleepy, its your bodies way of telling you to rest, so just take it easy as it will soon pass x

Eeek 28 weeks!!! Ill be ready for a new challenge by then as it will be baby weight loss challenge haha!!

Yeh still doing my course, it's so good, I can't believe just how much help you get. I have my first "class" on Tuesday and I have a museum visit at the end of the month. This part of the corse finishes beginning of may and the next one I can chose October 2013 or feb 2014. So it's worked out rather well x

Sounds good, great having something to aim for and hopefully you'll have a fab night as well. Exciting. Also something to give you focus over the Christmas period.

I think that'd be fair enough. I hate working out syns and HEX of things before you cook them. I love having baked apple and mincemeat as a HEB but I have to admit I always guess on the weight :/

Wow Kim your super organised and I have no doubt you will do it!! Can't see your stats but how much do you want to lose for first challenge? I am not good at folk makin a fuss and end up playing down my birthday. Never had a party either...think am anti social lol

Well I had cereal for break fast, think its 5syns then I had lunch. Went out for lunch and have no idea how to syn it. Nachos then chicken gougons. Very unhealthy but decided not to eat anything else til tom as I Feel bagged up. I don't feel particularly bad now that I know I won't just eat the rest of the night just for the sake of it. Will be on plan tom. Fruit and yoghurt then veg soup for lunch. Tonights roast chicken for dinner. Feel like am at least tryin now which helps x

Had another 100% day !!!! Woohoo 3 days now so feeling great
Walked yesterday for 30 mins
Walked today for 40 mins

Week 1
Day 1 100%
Day 2 100% 30 min walk
Day 3 100% 40 min walk

Looking good :) !!!
Hope you all had a good weekend xx

Not been around on minimins for a few days but quick catch up sounds like everyone is really focused t the minute and well done on the mega loss Kim.

Maintaining had been going really well but I went a bit crazy with food the past few days :-/ meals were mostly on plan. Friday night I tend to have a treat meal so it was garlic bread, pizza, filled pasta and rose wine. Really enjoyed that one :) but last night I was home alone and just had a binge - couple packs of crisps, chocolate, half an Easter egg!!! (Yup it's been sitting untouched that long yet last night I needed it lol) and 2 creme eggs! Whoops!

Then today was a planned day out with friends so lunch and cocktails, visited a wedding fayre (with the friend who I will be bridesmaid for :) ) and then tea/ cupcake.

Back on track tomorrow or I won't be at target for long :-/ feel horrible and bloated from it all so looking forward to eating normally again. Been surprised at how much extra I can eat and maintain so hopefully the damage won't be too horrific and can hopefully get most of the gain off by next weigh in on Friday. X

Ok I just started getting stressed!

I have holiday in under 4 weeks. I want to try and tone my mid section just an incy bit and I actually feel like a whale!

After looking online I think I'd be ok to have a couple of weeks of "dieting" to just shift maybe 4lb to make me feel a bit better!

Feeling proper shi*y and just want to feel comfortable in holiday. I've just been looking through my holiday photos from feb and from last sept and I just want to add some more nice photos to my album! Is this really selfish? What are all your thoughts on this?

Do you think I'll be ok just for 3 weeks? X

To be open & honest with you Nikki, no I dont think its a good idea for you to try & lose weight, especially in these early stages of your pregnancy. In the first trimester your baby is starting to develop & needs all the healthy nutrients it can get. SW is advocated by midwives as you know, but they also encourage you to have extra healthy extras, so I dont really think it would be good for you or the baby to try & lose weight. Im not saying you should actively try & put on weight, but just eat healthily. You will not have the same figure you had months ago, as you will be starting to 'pad out' around your middle/back section......embrace your new body & please try to get out of the mindset of 'dieting' as you can worry about that in 9 months! x

Well done Ronnie, its a great feeling isn't it when you've got past those first few days x

Sorry Nikki I agree sweetie. You look amazing and yes you can eat good and perhaps stay the same but I know from myself that the first few months, for me, I was bloated and felt huge. This did ease off when my bump formed but by eating good and drinking fluids you can enjoy your pregnancy and not worry too much. You may not even have control over a lot of it and what will be will be. I know once I had my baby I was very uncomfy being so big but it was to do with over eating so much. But now I wouldn't change a thing. Without sounding patronizing I would relax, accept how good You look and enjoy x

Hey Laura, sounds like my eating habits of late and it does make you feel yucky but your in such a good place I wouldn't worry too much
I went to fridge and was going to have slice cake but resisted...go me. Hate food being wasted tho lol

Nikki I agree with Kim I don't think it would be a good idea to try and lose weight at this stage you need to keep your diet as healthy as you can eating a wide range of Good foods its this stage where the baby develops all the important bits

Embrace your body you look fab and slim in your photo the other day that you posted so just relax and enjoy the experience it will go by so quickly

I do remember in both my pregnancy feeling very bloated all the time think its just another symptom of pregnancy wait till your feet and ankles blow up like balloons lol xx

I'd just relax nikki and eat what your body tells you you need take care huni xx
