Cruise PV Cabbage lasagne

ive made this up for tomarrows tea and it smells delish!


3 large cabbage leaves (halved and steamned til pliable)

tin tomatoes
2 fresh tomatoes diced (or i did cherry tomatoes halfed)
onion diced
2 clove garlic
1tbsp italian herbs
half cup water (add if needed)
lean mince or chicken
salt and pepper

WHITE SAUCE: (sauce blanche recipe in book)
125ml skimmed milk
2 egg yolks
1 small pot fatfree yoghurt
salt and pepper

OR i made the below

1/2 cup of cottage cheese Fat free
pinch garlic salt, pepper and italian seasoning.

saute onions and garlic, add rest of red sauce ingredients and simmer til thickened (could add bit cournflour) only if needed.

mix all white sauce ingredients up and layer up lasagne like you would normally do using 2 cabbage leaves in place of pasta sheetsper layer.

put in oven gas mark 7 for bout 40 mins or until looks ready

These sort of recipes are also excellent for making a big dish of, eating one portion, dividing up the remainder and freezing in meal size packages for emergencies! I do it with Dukan friendly cheese burger pie; spag bol sauce ready for konjac noodles; spag bol sauce topped with cauli mash.
