can my gp authorise slimming world while im pg?

really want to join today, and have spoken to the consultant .. she said i can join but wont actually be able to follow the diet and be weighed until have authorisation from my midwife. wont be seing her for another 3 weeks, can my gp give authorisation ? she has already expressed sw would be a good idea when i saw her earlier this week .. cant get through to the consultant to check, her phone permanantly ringing !!

I would imagine so, if not I would ring the midwife and see if she could leave a signed letter for you at the surgery, All health proffessionals should be encouraging a healthy diet so there shouldn't be a problem. You can still follow the diet whilst you wait

well i was never asked to get a letter or sign anything when i joined sw. all the literature says you have to but there was never an official form. what they would never do is tell me what my weight loss goals should be or advise me on what to lose but i got weighed and stayed to the group and things.
