emmie I'll try to explain
153 divide by 14 = 10.928571 (which you are calling 10 stone 9 lbs)
it is 10 stone but not 9lbs
you need to forget about the .928571 because there are 14 lbs in 1 stone
but when we divide on a calculator the calculations are in what is called base 10 I think, ie 10 10s in 100 so the .9 is 9 tenths (and not 9 lbs) of 14 (lbs)
so when I change lbs to stones I divide as above 153 divide by 14 = 10.928571 (forget about the .928571 for now) the 10 is 10 stone.
to get the lbs I x the 10 by 14 to change it back into lbs 14x10 = 140 lbs
the figure I started with was 153, so deduct the 140 from this
153-140=13 lbs
so 153 is 10 stone 13 lbs
( to change .928571 to lbs x it by 14 you get 12.99 lbs which you would round up to 13 lbs)
