    Hey guys,

I've been on Minimins since about August, and as of before xmas I'd lost about 2st7lb. Put some weight back on over xmas but have now committed myself to do S&S for 8 weeks. I am planning on doing simplicity for that time, to 'reset' my head about food and food portions.

I've done every conceivable diet over the years but Atkins always seems to work for me, however got quite sick of all the meat near the end, tbh. I don't know why, being South African, I was brought up on meat and meat products like biltong and dried sausage and can eat till the cows come home. But since having 2 kids it's slowly changed, I've recently starting disliking touching it even, very bizarre.

Anyway, I digress, I've got my first week's packs arriving tomorrow (will have slim fast shakes during the day should they only arrive in the afternoon) to see which food packs I like the best, but I am hoping menu will look something like this. I will order the rest of the packs needed near end of week.

    B - porridge pancakes (beelishy's recipe)
    L - Chilli/spicy spag bol/curry
    D - Hot chocolate shake
    Evening snack - bar
3-4 litres water, green tea and mint tea (staying away from the coffee these days).

Will have a look at your diaries this evening, hope you're winning x

Hi and welcome to S&S, I hope it works as well for you as it has me so far. I lived in SA for 6 years as a kid (Port Elizabeth), great place x

Thanks to everyone fo the warm welcome! Packs have just arrived and I've just had porridge buns, like pancakes but made in silicorne muffin cases in micro. They weren't the best tasting, salty and sweet at the same time, weird. Might try make the next batch the night before, might improve if eaten cold?

I am going to struggle, I know, over the next few days but I am determined to do this for 8 weeks at least. Is there an 8 week club/thread?

Menu looks as such, I have a pint of water with each meal too and also green/peppermint tea.

Thanks for stopping by starlight, will try find your diary and follow you. Forgot about making up packs and eating them straight away, haven't done anything yet so will make up as I go along, thanks for reminding me.

The serial weigher that I am I stepped on scales today and im 16st7.2lb, so 4 odd lb down, mental. Drank over 4l of water yesterday and feel fine today. Tummy grumbling a bit this am but I am fine. Onto day 2!

Sorry not caught up on diaries yet, was in bed by 7pm last night, then woken up by hubby snoring and couldn't get back to sleep for ages. Then son awake at 4am and I've been up since then. Sighh. My kids are 4 in may and 2 in april, so sleep deprivation is the norm.

Hope you're all have a great day x

Welcome to day 2. Im absolutely starving this morning but the scales are such a motivation to stay on track arent they :)
4lbs is just amazing isnt it. Got to love a VLCD :)

At least another day or 2 and we'll be in ketosis - please let it be soon lol

Thanks Pri, how are you doing on day 5? Will ip over to ur diary in a min and catch up. Too right Starlight, let K come soon, though I had a lovely filling breakfast. I used an oatmeal pack and added half tsp cinnamon, 1 egg white and 3 tbsp water, mixed and dry fried in pan, me oh my, it was lovely, didn't taste like diet food at all!

I have so much to do today, have a viewing tomorrow and lets just say place is not show ready, lol. Im on here and procrastinating, get moving Toni!

Good Luck! I've heard good things about Slim & Save but I'm currently on Lipotrim, may make the switch to S&S soon though.
    Hey, I'm Cornish too!:)

    Day3, 53 days to go.
Loss today 2lb, total lost 6.6lb.
Start weight 16st11.8lb, current weight 16st5.2lb.

Thanks Abz, I heard sns gives good results and cheapest so went for that. How do you find lipotherm?

Happy with another 2lb loss. Only 3lb away from lowest weight before Christmas, so happy it's coming off quick since I ate for like 3 weeks over the holidays. I was eating much smaller portions though, hell I couldn't even finish my Christmas dinner this year, usually I go back for seconds!

Busy day again today, house still not ready for viewing but getting there. Headache here so ketosis hangover started, wish I could just spend the day in bed. Never mind, headache pills taken and resolve not wavering so I'm going to keep going, how about you?

Lastly, a great motivator I read on Pri's thread about when fantasising about food. If you give into what ever you're fantasising about, your body won't change! So true! My new food fantasy is to be eating a small portion of that lovely food in a size 10! Playing mind games with my mind, lol.

So, onwards and downwards. Have a gread day y'all! x

Well done on the loss! Lioptrim is great, but as you said the price is off-putting. Also you don't get as much variety as with S&S, but I like the fact that it's run through a pharmacy who manage your weigh-ins and stuff, they're very motivational! Have a good day x

Well done, what a great start! Thinking of doing a couple of weeks myself, not starting til a week on Monday though as I have a few things coming up. I was going to do lipotrom again but the price is unreal! Anyway I'll be starting my own diary so come along and grade a read xx

Well done you on sticking to plan while showing your house I was a stressed out mess when we sold ours as 2 large messy dogs and 2 messy kids didn't make it easy to keep it "viewing ready" but I'm just so glad it's all over now and I plan to never ever move house again :) x

Evening Toni! You have done brilliantly on Atkins well done on your losses so far. You are doing extremely well on SnS too and with two young ones I take my hat off to you! I was still in the habit of eating my kids left over pizza crusts until a year or so ago! They are now 10 and 17! No wonder I out on weight over the years!

I was planning to do SnS for a solid 8 weeks like I did this time last year but I do have to have extra protecting meals or packs on days I have my personal training sessions. I'm aiming for now to get two or three weeks under my belt so it seems less daunting and more achievable. I have a planned break on 1 Feb and another 15 Feb and will keep going for 8 weeks if I can. Either way you are not alone on this journey.

mmh? Wonder if Atkins is good post vlcd? I was planning 5:2 .......but I like the idea of limited carbs...... Still chopping and changing! Have a great day tomorrow. X

Must have missed this Jewel, sorry. Do you have fond memories of SA? Do you ever go back? I left in 2000 and lots as changed, some for better, mostly for worse (imo). Would go back tomorrow if they sorted out the crime as still have family there but I have family of my own now and not safe to go there (imo).

    Day 4, 52 days to go. .
Loss today 0.12lb, total lost 7.2lb.
Start weight 16st11.8lb, current weight 16st4.6lb.

Abbz - I find SnS has such great variety as you say so I love the variety (esp since Im on 4 packs a day).

Sam - I have found it quite easy to stick to this time (well, early days yet, lol) but I went into ketosis yesterday (pink pee stick) so am finding it easier again today. Let me know what your diary is and I'll pop over and subscribe. Us atkins chicks can rock this sns! :D

Tracy - replied on your diary but yeah, trying to get my head in the right place and now that the place is tidy im going to keep on top of it. like you im am going to attempt a swim while kids at playschool.

Kira - Ugh, dont I know how you feel about finishing the kids pizza. With mine so young they're like hobbits, breakfast, mid morning snack lunch, mid afternoon snack, dinner and pre bed snack, I was eating along with them. BUT, with SNS I even resisted burger king last night (my favourite takeaway!)

So, onwards and downwards people, swim session today while kids at play school. Hope you're winning x
