Today a very good friend of mine brought me a chicken curry with some plain boiled rice for mi dinner to try.
Anyways its mi m8 Al's recipe and its blumin luvley (well for me it was) so i thought ide share it with you nice people and see what ya think.
Now please dont slate me if ive got things wrong, this cooking lark & syn counting is all pretty new to me and i may have some bits wrong, but im sure someone will put me right.
Curry (serves 4) works out around 3 1/2 syns a portion
Fry Light1lb Chicken / Beef etc
1 medium onion chopped
1 tablespoon tomato sauce (1syn)
1 tablespoon Honey or Golden Syrup (Allow 3syns)
1 tablespoon tomato puree (1/2 syn)
1 tablespoon of sweetener
2 tablespoons of mango chutney (allow 4syns)
1 tablespoon curry powder (which ever takes ya fancy, mild, hot etc)
1 teaspoon of salt1 teaspoon of chilli powder
1 teaspoon of cumin powder
1 teaspoon of chinese 5 spice
1 chicken stock cube (allow 1 1/2syns)
1 eating apple chopped
a sprinkling of sultanas (28grams is 4syns)
a squirt of lemon juice
half a red pepper chopped
Garlic or ginger if you fancy any!
Fry the meat in some fry light for around 3 - 4 minutes then add all the ingredients and just cover with water, Cook on low heat for 1 - 1 1/2 hours
