Curry night - Saturday - who's with me?

I've made daal in slow cooker and its lush, plus clears up a ring on the cooker! I don't eat meat though so not sure in actual curry though, I don't tend to follow recipes for curry and I'm not quite figured out how my slow cooker works and if the veg will be overlooked. Sure you can though - would have to be a juicy one! Moroccan tagine style food is amazing in a slow cooker :)

Ooh thank you ;) Ill make a lamb curry in the slow cooker this weekend :)

Thinking this mushy pea curry sounds like it's worth a try... just sounds so wrong though! x

Yum! Peanut curry - that sounds amazing!!!! Might do this and join in on curry club :) the good thing is that my car is snowed in so it will involve some body magic to get to the shops for peanut butter!!!

Couldn't wait for my curry and had it tonight, but mushy pea curry and SW chips tomorrow

This was the recipe I found on this site. I used wholmeal flour and dried chilli flakes as this is what I had in the cupboard!! Tasted pretty good though :) I only managed to get 8 bhajis from the mixture and worked them out to be around 1 syn each!

Onion Bhaji’s

Ingredients:

200g/7oz onions, peeled, halved and thinly sliced
50g/2oz Gram Flour
1 tsp lemon juice
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tbsp coriander seeds, crushed
1 tsp deseeded and chopped fresh green chilli
1 tbsp freshly chopped coriander leaves
¼ tsp baking powder
Salt
Fry light

To serve:

Pinch of paprika

Instructions:

  • Place the onions, gram flour, lemon juice, cumin, coriander seeds, green chilli, chopped coriander and baking powder in a mixing bowl. Season with salt and add a few tablespoons of water to form a thick batter that coats the onion. Leave to rest for 15 minutes and then, using your fingers, mix again to combine thoroughly.
  • Preheat the oven to 220c/Gas 7. Line a baking sheet with baking parchment and using your fingers or a dessertspoon, drop small mounds of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet to give you 12 bhaji’s.
  • Spray with fry light and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.

Yummy!! Peanut curry was amazing and well worth 4 5 syns!!!! :)

I need to join in this thread, we're gonna start having a 'fake away' night on a Saturday. We usually have a proper take away, something like low syn chinese or chicken/doner kebab, but we've all decided we're not that fussed on them anymore after tonight's!! I ate about half of mine, what a waste of money! So that's it, I'm in for not having a synned take away next weekend. Gonna have a look through this thread and see what I can make next Saturday :) x

I have definitely got to try this! I've been meaning to for ages!! Loving all your recipes Pete! :)

I've only just seen this thread but made a curry last week. I used the muller Greek coconut yogurt for 1/2 syns with various other curry spices. Was really tasty and quick to do. I also made the Syn free curry loaf but I now make them into little cup cakes. Easier to snack on too! I was also getting fed up with rice!
