Daisy's Diary!

What worries you about finners on SF, Daisy? Dinners seem the easiest on SF for me, its breakfasts I find a bit trickier as I miss my chocoate weetabix and raspberries :(

Just cos sometimes my food is 'freezer food' though that isn't very often,I was thinking id be ok for breakfast with the oats and I have bagels that I can have for lunch, plus my pasta, rice and spaghetti isn't whole meal but I guess I could point those or just tweak them ;0)

I reckon maybe trying a few days SF each week might work best to start with. Then you can still have the "freezer food" for dinners a few times a week too.

Brown rice and wholemeal pasta is free so you can still include alot of what you usually eat. It is a *little* more expensive than the ordinary stuff and I know you are trying to budget the food shop but as potatoes are free you don't have to rely on that for meals every time you do SF. Maybe buy a pack of brown rice one week and wholemeal pasta the other? They will both last for several meals so you wouldn't need to buy them every week. Do you like beans and lentils? As these are great on SF and really good budget options. You can either make lovely tomato-y beans stews or bean and lentil curries. All very tasty.

Simply filling is really easy once you get into it -your breakfasts and lunches would generally be fine on it so it's just getting used to tweaking dinners slightly to get them to fit into the plan.

Wholemeal pasta tends to cost about the same, brown rice is a little more expensive but not something I have to buy that often.

It's grey being able to have crumpet or toast or porridge as a snack and then there's still plenty weeklies to use for other treats.

As atomic says try a couple days of it in your week first and see how you like it :) x

Thanks for the advice,i'm abit of a worry wort with things i'm not 100% sure about! Sounds like a good idea to have a few days like it here and there to start with.I do like beans and lentils, used to add lentils to my soups and mince dishes when did WW couple of years ago.Good idea to bout the pasta etc,as you say it will last awhile.

Hey daisy just popping in, I was wanting to try Sf when i was doing WW, Its worth a go right, u may love it! have a nice evening xxx

Hi Hun! You can have SF days and pp days. So if you have a ready made meal or something not SF then just pp that day! If your having chicken, homemade chips and peas. Then it's all free on SF so you might aswell have a SF day!

Here is a list:

That doesn't have the bread on, but all ww bread is free! Plus some brands of food and soup are free.

Anyway if you decide to do it, then ask any questions! I'm sure all out heads can help! :)

I'm toying with trying a couple of SF days next week or the week after, so I'd be interested to see how you get on.

I STS this week, so I'm going to wait until I show a loss (hopefully on Wednesday) and then give it a try. Sounds a bit illogical maybe (!) but I want to be on the downward movement again, before I give it a go, so I can see if it affects my losses or not. Will probably try it for a couple of days a week for 3 - 4 weeks, to give it a fair try! I do like the idea of free crumpets though!

I love crumpets! Bagels aswell :0) Sts is better then a gain but know what you mean about waiting to see if the sf has a effect for you.It makes sense to try it for a while and see.

Don't forget free WW wraps too!! And 2tsp of healthy oils a day that don't have to be pointed. Those were two of things that orginally swung it for me to jump ship from SW. Glad to hear you are going to give it a go, and of course we will be on hand for any questions and queries.

Thanks about the wraps,I only have Tescos ones right now! Yea was thinking could fry my eggs in the healthy oil as thought have eggs tomorrow.I have made today sf but will have to point a couple of bits but I do have 43 weeklies left so should be fine for the week.

Sounds great so far. Having the free oil is lovely if you have become used to cooking without it and using frylight and such things. Some things are just so much nicer with a tsp of oil - like a homemade tomato sauce. And then there's making homemade pesto with your oil allowance and some basil or rocket. Very tasty. I tend to tweak things a little bit as I don't always use my full oil allowance on SF days so I take this to mean that I use a few sprays of proper spray oil on PP days without counting it.
