I had a funny experience yesterday at Sainsbugs Petrol Station. I intended to buy £25 worth of diesel for my work car but didn't notice that the manageress had typed in the wrong pump number - I actually paid for £71's worth
The customer who's fuel I'd 'bought' was very nice and we all had a bit of a laugh.
The staff sorted out the additional payment from the other customer but because I'd used a work fuel agency card, I couldn't accept a cash refund and they couldn't amend the transaction.
I ended up squeezing as much diesel into my car as poss & then having to go back to work to get another car that would take the remaining fuel.
When I returned with the 2nd car & confirmed we were all square, I was presented with a box of Cadbury Roses as a thank you for being so patient.
Moral of the story ..... check your receipts or card display before finalising payment or.... be nice about it and perhaps get some chocs
