thx cat, im going to try my hardest to be good. i must go and have my morning shake now before i get so hungry i eat other things.

hi hun, men huh! try and turn that rage into something positive, sounds boring but are there any cleaning jobs that you've put off, like scrubbing the oven, or clearing cupboards that you can take it out on. don't eat cos like biggirl says you'll only feel more down, think of the bigger picture and perhaps cook him something he doesn't really like for tea to piss him off! chin up sweetie x

I love the dinner idea ;)

Just makes it worse coz its his day off today and we don't often fall out but today we are avoiding each other big time. Oh well it will pass. I'm being good so far on the food front, i had a moment a little while ago when i really wanted something bad so instead i had 3 pieces of fruit, maybe over in cals i'm not sure but hay its not as bad as the sort of foods i had in mind.

New day, fresh start, I need to find my diet head again.

Afternoon - Shake @ 2pm

Its now just after 2pm and i'm having a really good day so far. I'm not to sure what i fancy for dinner yet but its going to be either a ww meal with salad or veg or maybe some fish not to sure but i'm happy with things today which is a huge contrast to yesterday. I have been sitting in the garden for a few hours now reading my book and catching some much needed sun on my very bright white legs n arms lol. Dogs are also in the garden enjoying the sun which is always nice to see.

Its now 6pm and the day has gone to plan, i have a snack left which i will have whilst watching Hells kitchen :D Fingers crossed i don't eat anything i shouldn't this evening. i got myself some sugar free chewing gum that should help if i feel like eating ( i have read LR talk about it a lot and i think its a great idea )

Sounds like your diet head is coming back Sass, I can't find mine either. Why does chocolate taste so good when it's totm? :8855:
Been to the beach today and it was lush!! lol

I wish i lived by the beach, i'm well jealous.

I really hate totm time it not only makes chocolate extra yummy but it holds me up so much, i mean i eat everything i see and so i put on and then i spend the following week losing that and then only make real progress for 2 weeks out of a month.

I have a question, see how when its a woman's totm they seem to gain due to water retention, should that go as soon as its finished or ....... ? I'm not to sure about this one as i have just finished and i have still gained, though i haven't done to well the past few days i was hoping to find out what real damage my eating has done but not sure if its still totm gain or not .

i just found some interesting fact on this matter.

While there may be minor changes in metabolism, food intake and cravings throughout the menstrual cycle in addition to possible water retention, this will not impact weight loss success.
Food cravings, overeating and weight gain are commonly reported during the one to two weeks before menstruation occurs. But what is the science to support these symptoms, and what is their impact on weight loss success?

Food Intake and Metabolism
While overeating is the popular perception, the research has shown that there are minor changes in actual food intake throughout the menstrual cycle. Most studies suggest an increase in eating of around 100 to 200 calories in the days before bleeding occurs, 1,2 but this appears to be offset by the small rise in metabolism (around 5 to 10%) 3 that occurs during the same time period. In other words, the body tends to adjust the calories in/calories out on its own. Therefore, in a weight stable state, no changes in weight will occur. However, if actively losing weight by following a restricted-calorie food plan, the likely result would be a slight (but hardly noticeable) increase in weight loss due to the increased metabolism without the usual increase in calories. Alternatively, the result instead could be a slightly greater difficulty in following the food plan because of increased hunger during that period.
Food Cravings
Although food cravings are commonly reported during certain times of the menstrual cycle, the scientific evidence on the subjects is limited. Some smaller studies suggest a link, particularly a craving for high carbohydrate sweets. 4,5 These studies also show that cravings tend to occur more often in women with premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and that the cravings increase as symptoms worsen. 6 While more research is needed to understand food cravings, the good news is that they do not appear to translate into large increases in calorie intake and subsequent weight gain.
Water Retention
The most likely reason for a weight gain is water retention. While this is a common symptom that can be particularly discouraging when following a structured food plan, 7 the weight gain is usually minor and temporary (that is, any weight that is gained is lost around the time of menstruation). Furthermore, water retention can be lessened during this time period by making small dietary changes, like reducing sodium and increasing fluids.
Bottom Line: Major fluctuations in eating and weight during certain periods of the menstrual cycle are a common perception, but studies done in the area find that the changes are minor, temporary and will not impact on weight loss success

:d'oh: Well i have gained this week, wasn't as much as i thought it would be but its not a loss so i'm a little upset with myself. I have to really pull my finger out now and work hard for this, i do want to get rid of this weight and hard work is the only real way i know but sometimes the food seems like the right answer at the time. Next month i am going to try to have a really good one and work as hard as i can. I'm feeling positive overall about this and think i can pull myself together again but i do feel a lot less focused than i did in january when i started my diet.

I made a goal for september to have lost 5 stone by then, i'm almost 2 stone down but i still have a long way to go and i would really like to get there by then, i would be so happy with myself.

I think next month i am going to try to do more exercise, i don't really do enough other than a few walks a week to the shops and the housework so i'm going to knuckle down with that.

Me and OH are going on a huge walk today so that will be today's exercise and tomorrow i will do some wii fit. If i have said it on here it will make me do it, i hope.:8855:

Sass, that article you found about the totm was really interesting. I only every use the internet for socialising and shopping!! lol.
I know my food intake increases quite a bit when I am due on and it's always for sweet food. Through the rest of the month if I have a food craving it's normally for a meat sanwich. (does that sound rude?? lol)
As for the water retention, I don't know when I am retaining water, all I know is I drink about 2ltrs of water, a litre of squash and about 4 cups of tea and day and I am always going for a wee, I don't think I could possibly drink anymore. I feel like a giant waterbed sometimes! lol.
Saying that though, all this water drinking has really flushed my kdneys out. You can tell how healthy your liver and kidneys are by looking in your eyes. If they are bright and sparkly and the whites are clear and white then you probably have a healthy liver and kidney function. I had to compare old photos but "they" are right you can see it and it's mainly down to drinking water.
Good luck with getting back on the diet wagon. :D

hi sass, you sound like my twin:D i've also lost the plot, have ups and downs and then feel so angry and miserable with myself:copon:

i've been eating since the kids broke up for easter and today was the first wi i've had and not surprising i'd put on:copon: what was amazing though that it was only 1 lb:eek:

this has now spurred me on to thinking i cannot keep on like this yet again so as from friday will be 100% every day until next wi:eek: i'm going to spain with a couple of friends in june so want to lose at least 1stone by then so join me sass, we're so alike, weight loss, kids, lack of willpower, exercise etc, etc etc. together we can do this x

I'm in, 100% days now between now and our wi days sounds good to me.

100% Friday !!

I normally have my morning shake between 10 and 11 in the morning but i get up no later than 7.30 on weekdays, i read a post somewhere about having your breakfast within an hour of waking up to give ur metabolism a kick up the bum. so I'm going to trying it this week and see if it makes any difference.

I am also going to do half hours exercise a day this week, but today because i have so much to do around the house i may not do any unless i feel like it this evening,i'm sure the housework will account for some good exercise, considering i have a 3 story house to hoover and lots of up n down stairs to do:fear:

Here goes fridays 100% day challenge.
