Diary of losing my baby weight (now that my son is 5!)

Have been doing some christmas planning - Have decided to buy a bottle of clique verve for chrismas day - it costs around $100 here (60 quid) but it goes lovely with seafood on the bbq will do wedges (probably shop bought - bad me!!) and salad. Usually for dessert wer have triffle, but am not doing that this year (cos I just sit and eat the cream and the leftovers get eaten for brekky on boxing day! - a tradition in our house) I have bought a mould for a ginger bread house but I will use cocoa instead of ginger and will get the kids to help me decorate it with loads of sweets and goodies (I am the only one that likes xmas cake so have to eat it all usually)

Sorry am burbling off in my own little world - is very bizzare that I can do this typing!! Back to what I was gonna write today:

Woo! That's half of the 8lbs you wanted to lose by christmas already - well done :D
I know, how good is that!!! Am also only 5.5lbs away from my stone, have decided to have my xmas wi on christmas eve, so 4 wi's to go - very do-able!

Hmn seems odd testing the little'ns before starting nursery/kindergarten, you'd think they'd do it in year 1 instead... Kindergarten is what they used to call 1st year infants school in my day, so Reception year in UK - hopefully that makes more sense now!

Not familiar with the phrase itchy scratchies either, would that be a saying unique to whereever you originated from in t'UK? :) Sorry - a bit of valspeak there, basically focusing on the fact that the less desirables usually fail to check their kids for nits lol. lol I am originally from a little town just outside of Portsmouth, down on the (relatively) sunny south coast

Bit worrying about 'druggo' parents (I presume that's druggie and not a slang word for something else?), see how things are I guess - as long as the kids themselves are okay and there are good teachers in place things should be alright :) I agree, funny how there wasn't that problem in Yasmin's year. I think it has more to do with the fact the session was during the day, so all the unemployed types were able to attend (hopefully) giving the wrong impression!

Good luck to Yasmin for her Jazz concerts, I'm sure she'll do you proud :D Could you take some colouring books or comics for your son to entertain himself with quietly? Good Idea - will try that!!

A cherry festival sounds fun, and yummy if there's cherry themed foods :D Hmn have you seen the SW 'KFC' chicken recipe over on the recipe thread? Not tried it myself but it gets pretty good reviews :) Tried that the other week, but had to use normal bovril as chicken bovril not available here. Was nice, but I think with the chicken bovril would be nicer - also was quite a faff - I think I would be more likely to go for a baked spud and beans as home made fast food - will probably do something in the slow cooker that day so it is ready when we walk through the door.

Am feeling really bloated today - I think its because of roast dinner and veggies I had on Sunday and left overs yesterday - funny how it does not affect the rest of the family so badly - OH suggested that if I was a dog I would be put down - Thanks hun!!!

I have some activia in the fridge, may have to have all 4 today lol! Not sure if it is the fat free version though, will have to check the syns before I try de-bloating!!!

Will have to come back and do food diary and check everyone elses diaries - too little time in the mornings!!!

Nature is currently unleashing a fantastic light show - had a couple of almighty bangs, have just had to go round and shut all the windows so it doesnt wake up the kids!!! The satellite tv is down - hope we dont have another power out or I will get cut off. Aussie storms are way better than the English ones, like the ones you get in the movies and you think 'that's not real!!!' Instead of 1 bit of lightning then count til the thunder, you get a spate of 1 flash per second so you dont know which flash to count from! OOOwwww that bit of thunder shook the house!!! Hopefully the power wont go out, got a candle at the ready, but I will lose internet - better get this posted asap!

Anyhow am on minimins at the mo cos I have the munchies - am making good choices, but still 4 yogurts, 3 good crisps (2.5 syns per pack) and a bunch of grapes is still a binge right?? so am gonna do the diaries and hopefully keep my fingers on the keyboard and out of the pantry - hopefully lots of food porn to keep me on track!!!

Haha totally missed reading the 'food' before porn and had to look again!

Hope your fingers stayed on minis and not in the pantry! :)

:8855: Ha ha - that is funny!!!

Unfortunately the food porn didnt work, OH got called out so I was left to my own devices and failed miserably:break_diet:

Have decided to take it as a flexi day and just get right back on the plan and carry on regardless.

Today - OH got in from call out at 7am so will spend the day on bed catching up on sleep (under my feet). Both kids will be at school/preschool. I am going to a class at the gym, then a tuperware party at 11 (am gonna have to be good - lots of cakes there as is one of my friends kids b'day (bum have to sort pressie!)). Then the car goes in for the equivalent of an mot at 2pm. will have to walk to pick up son at 3, only 1 mile away, hopefully it wont rain - with a bit of luck car will be back in time to take daughter to jazz concert - if not may have to call in a favour from friends. All that and need to organise some car insurance and the normal housework stuff!! Gonna be a busy day!!!

Foodwise - Tea will be mince, am not sure if I will make burgers on a red day or spag bol on ee - decisions, decisions!!!

I didn't realise you were talking about champagne - I was thinking that's a really expensive bottle of sauce or marinade for seafood :8855:

I might end up doing a gingerbread house too - still subscribed to a baking mag that comes with silicone bakeware and the seasonal special is the gingerbread house molds  Dangerous stuff :D

Hm I've found my tum's gone a bit haywire from having two weeks off activias then going back onto them - it's so confused lol Using minis as a distraction myself tonight after indulging in cornflake bites, got a brownie on one side of the room and a gingerbread xmas tree in my handbag at the other end of the room, and I'm sat in the middle on the sofa - the tension is very high, a christmas drama in the making heehee :D

Hope your busy day goes smoothly, tired out now reading all your plans. Think I'm ready for bed shortly, got a mid-week lie-in to enjoy courtesy of Unison and da kine going on strike heh (would have had to have been off even if I didn't 'participate' as such as the schools are all closed).

Catch you at some point during my 'tomorrow' :) xxx

Hehe you sound like Harry Hill - I wonder which is better, Brownie or Gingerbread Tree - there's only one way to find out... FIGHT!!! Heehee

Well I tried taking a bite out of the gingerbread tree but spat it out straight away as I didn't like it - too hard and plain, greggs ones are the best and this was from martins, piece of crepe :D

he he best diet ever - buy stuff you dont like lol!!!

Well I dont know if you remember, but my hard disk was saying it was about to die - well today it did - so am now back on my old laptop which is also reporting iminent hard disk failure and is vvvveeerrrryyyy sssssslllllllloooooowwwww!!!!! so may not get round to everyones diaries for a bit. Will probably get a new laptop in the xmas sales, I just hope this thing will be up to the job for the next4 weeks - fingers crossed..... (that is if my frustration can stand it, I have to surf some car insurance out today, at this speed it will take all day!!!)

Also need minimins at the mo - am struggling again - my own fault, yesterday i fancied a curly wurly and they were 3 for $2 so I bought 3. Of course I ate all 3 and a freddo frog. Felt sick after mind! I am not a choco-holic and can usually take it or leave it, but I have been craving sugar all week, so hopefully now I am over it!!!

I woke up starving this morning so have had cereal and toast, so 2 hex b's already! I have got my food diary out and ready so hopefully will be able to regain control. I do want to lose weight - I just have to remind myself sometimes!

Right off to sort the insurance, otherwise wont be able to use the car today....

Yesterday - not good. To get it out of my system I went round the supermarket with the 'buy whatever you want' attitude. Bought a cornetto and a dare iced coffee - must be craving cacium???!! Also bought lots of fruit, but after my little 'snack' was too full to eat it, but today will make up a nice fruit salad.

Today I feel like I am over it and ready to get back on track I still have 3 days before wi for a bit of damage limitation. The concert has finished (she was awesome,by the way, they danced to 'spice up your life' by the spice girls but was not on for long enough IMO - the rest was older kids or ballet). Tonight is the Infants Frolic at yasmins school - pretty much a linedancing disco where all the kids know the steps, stuff like the macarina (sp?) and the adults join in.Have ordered chicken wraps, hopefully should be ok. The challenges will be going for a coffee morning at a friends at 11 and the gym is closed so no step, will dust off davina for today.

Am back!!! Second PC died and have now taken 1st pc to shop tohave it fixed - my v old one is sadly irripearable (sp.) Also have new pc to play with. Am off to the pub with oh and will be back on track with diet and minimins as of tomorrow - only 6 weeks to hols and intend to lose a stone by then, even with xmas in the middle.

Oh minimins - how I've missed you!!!

Am v scared right now - should b weighin today and havent jumped on the scales for over a week - mainly as a denial thing, but i know that the only way to deal with it is to face the scales. will be back later with the results - wish me luck...

You are completely right Tania - better to know and deal with it than to bury your head in the sand - was 4 lbs on!!!, I guess only 2lb per week. Have got my 'good' head back on, will get rid of that before christmas, and hopefully a little bit more!

Am gonna make sure I post my food which I find keeps me on track, so today EE:

B Weetbix and milk - as normal Hex A + B
L Attempted to make wraps out of eggs - with mixed results! just used an egg with some pepper, so was basically a 1 egg omelette, and let it cool. It wasnt very durable and basically tasted like cold omelette (who knew!!!) I might have a bit of a nose around the recipe section to see if anybody has any tried adding flour or something but keeping it low syn. Anyway, I just added chicken and salad to my cold omelette wrap.
T am boiling yesterdays roast chook bones at the mo and will add spuds and veggies for a tasty soup for tea - yummo Have a wholemeal seeded roll to go with it for 7 syns, followed by a skinny cow ice lolly

Am feeling really saintly with that menu, although I thought it was going to be chilly, and the kids are having swimming lessons after school, quick and warming yay!!! Only it has cleared up to be a nice day, around 30 degrees - ooops!!!!

Hey val! Hope all okay, been neglecting diarys lately - sorry, but look like you'll get that gain off in no time :)

Thanks Emmey great to see you stop by - I been a bit slack on doing other diaries myself at the mo - great to see you've got your club 10. Will pop by and see how you and woofwoof are doing later on today xxx

Yesterday was another good day. Although most days are good, its the evening snacking that sometimes get out of control!!! Last night, rather than the usual junk, I had a really nice (and massive) pink lady apple and a free yogurt - and I actually felt full, now that doesnt happen with popcorn and low syn crisps!

Yesterdays food ee:
B Weetbix and milk
L Chicken soup and a slice of wm bread (3 syns)
T Chicken, Baked spud, Salad, light honey and mustard sauce (7.5 syns)
Snacks Banana apple yogurt, 10 sweets (5 syns)

Today is my sons christmas concert at preschool, which I am really looking forward to, my daughter is going on a school excursion to the handstand factory and the kids' penultimate swimming lesson. I am going to the gym and I have a heap of washing and ironing to get through (yawn!!) - may have to do some diary catching up too!!!

The OH is on hols for the rest of the week and today is threatening to paint the soffits (not sure on spelling!!) The white bits under the overhang of the roof. Not difficult for him as he is over 6ft and we are single storey. I just hope he puts a dust cover on the concrete - why do men never do that???? Oh well - at least he wont be under my feet!!!

Foodwise I will have the last of the chicken soup for lunch. I have no idea what i will do for tea - there is chicken in the freezer so prob baked spud and salad with it.

Right - on with my day - have a good one xxx

Bummer - I have just checked out the syns on the roll I had for lunch with my soup - 13 syns UNBELIEVABLE!!! Am annoyed with myself that I did not check it before I ate it, but nothing I can do about it now but stick to the program!! Fruit and yogurt for pud tonight lol!!
