VLCD's stated that they should be done for 28 days and then a break which is why AAM was created with Cambridge.
I tell all my clients to do it as it doesn't really affect weight loss, doesn't affect ketosis and can be something to look forward to if you are on the weight loss train for a long time.
If people are adamant that they don't want to do it then they do need a GP signed letter saying that the GP is happy for them to stay on sole source.
With the new
NICE guidelines stating a 12 week window of abstinance then I would imagine GP's are going to not want to sign this.
