Does it matter what time you take the Cambridge Diet shakes at when on full source

I have 3 drinks per day but dont tend to have one in the morning. I like to have my drinks as late on as possible because this is when i find it difficult as this is the time when i normally would binge eat. I normally have one about 1pm then another about 7pm then my last one about 11pm. I was told this should be fine as it doesnt matter when i drink them cos its still only 400 calories im consuming. sometimes especially when i go swimming i will come home tired and will fall asleep on the couch only to wake up at around 3am remembering that i had forgotten to take my last shake for that night. I would then make it, drink it and go to bed but other times i would leave it is this ok. Most counsellors recommend guys take 4 drinks per day but i opted for 3 per day and if i was hungry i would take 4 a day. I have managed so far on just 3 per day.

Thanks
Chris

Hi, It doesn't matter when you have your shakes, I leave my first one til about 1pm and then last is usually about 7ish. :)
As a guy you should be having 4 a day I am surprised that your CDC allows this. Guys have a fast matabalisum than us girlies...and therefore need the extra pack for the extra vits and minerals in them. You will still have a good weight loss on 4 a day. :)

You must have 4 a day if you are a man. You won't lose any quicker having 3. In fact, if anything it might slow it down.

u should definately not be skipping your last one as u are only having 3 a day when u should be having 4.
i had to have 4 a day as im 5'10 and sometimes never felt like my 4th but made myself have them all for all the nutrients etc that u need :D

Hi sam thanks for your message. Im going to put a couple of pictures of me on the site ad i will also keep you posted on my progress. I find the diet ok. Although i do not feel hungry i feel the urge to eat something really good like pizza or large king kebab with Nan bread mmmm. I guess this is just out of habit. I know i would really like it but at the same time its all about changing your eating habits. Thanks for shown an interest. How have you been yourself. Are you coping ok.

you dont actually have to have 4. I have been to see my counsellor. My counsellor see's me in consultations. The only reason counsellors say they need 4 is to get more money out of you. At the end of the day i am taking professional advice from a mediically qualified GP who also specialises in many other treatments. surely if it was unhealthy then he would tell me. Also it means i would have to fork out £50 per week instead of £35 which i dont fancy doing. I can handle 3 drinks per day easily. I asked my Dr if i had to take 4 and he said no. Only males 6ft or taller require 4 shakes.

Hi Chris,

Glad you are finding the diet OK. It does get easier I promise and Im glad that you can recognise the difference between cravings (for the pizza and kebab) instead of hunger.

I am surprised that your counsellor recommended 3 packs only. Im not disputing the advice you have been given but I know that official advice from head office is 4 packs for males or for females over 5ft8... but see how you go. If you are coping with 3 packs then Im sure you wil be fine.

WHen do you have your first weigh in?

Hi sam thanks for the quick response. I had my first weigh in last Thursday and had lost 8lbs. I will get weighed again on Thursday so ill keep you updated. Im fairly new to the site, is there an easierway of being able to talk to you on a 121 basis perhaps through chat. You sound very nice.

He's wrong over this one though. He may be a medically qualified GP, but that doesn't mean a lot sometimes when it comes to this type of diet as many GP know nothing about it, let alone the finer details;)

Sorry, but he really needs to read up on this diet if he's going to advise you. Sure he means well though, but he is wrong.

Hi Chris

I am glad you are doing well on the diet.

On a personal level, I do not agree with your comment that the only reason a counsellor would ask you to take four packs is just to make money out of you. It is such a sweeping statement and without rocking your boat, I can tell you that is also factually incorrect. You need to take in more vitamins and nutrients than say a woman of 5' 5"s. It is that simple.

I appreciate that you say you have taken professional medical advice and while I am surprised that this is the advice provided, it is really your choice. I have responded to your comment, not to convince you otherwise necessarily that what you are doing is wrong, but more for the benefit of other readers who might IMO mistakenly believe they can ignore their consellors advice.

That said, good luck with your journey. You sound determined and I am sure you will make it.

Have to agree with what Brad has said here:

I would also say that perhaps the reason you lost 8 lbs in your first week is that your body is struggling on 3 packs per day, instead of the recommended 4.

I respect your GP's advice, but as KD has said, he is incorrect on this occasion. I really hope you start to follow the plan 100% so you get the results you deserve. Good luck :)

Hi Brads the statement of which i made about counsellors selling 4 to make money is not of my own but had been mentioned to me a few times. I know counsellors are very genuine and are previous dieters themselves and are not interested in ripping anyone off. The dr told me but i could get away with 3 cos im not 6ft tall

[FONT=&quot]Thanks for your response mate.

As a counsellor, I can't really imagine somebody selling extra packs just to make money - but I don't want to open up a hypothetical debate.

I am a little concerned about the professional medical advice you are receiving though Chris, because it is wrong. The only time a persons height comes in to it is if they are female!!

I would ask that you let him have a read of your Sole Source book. It maybe a simple thing like he knows some things about the diet, but may be confusing some of the information.

I worry that he could be advising others incorrectly, like telling very short women they don’t have to take in 3!!!

Regards
