Hi Lavender Girl,

Drinking and doing a vlcd is a big NO, NO. Sorry:(

Post-exercise ketosis, ketone bodies

Alcohol is a powerful inhibitor of gluconeogenesis. In fact, it forces part of the gluconeogenic metabolic process into reverse. This means that if all the glucose in the blood is being derived from gluconeogenesis then the consumption of alcohol will inevitably cause the blood glucose level to fall. Worse still, the alcohol also stops ketone body production, thus leaving the brain entirely without fuel.
A person who is ketotic is 100% reliant on gluconeogenesis to maintain adequate levels of glucose in the blood. If, under these circumstances alcohol is taken, the person will become disorientated and might lose consciousness, not just from the alcohol, but from low blood sugar. Needless to say, this could be very dangerous, and even fatal.
Alcohol does not have these effects if the glycogen stores in the liver are normal. Under these circumstances the blood glucose level in the blood is maintained by the breakdown of liver glycogen, a process that is not influenced by alcohol. If a person becomes confused under these circumstances it is due simply to the pharmacological effects of the alcohol
As mini has shown you with the link it is definately a no no......but just think once you are at target and maintaining your new shapely figure you can celebrate then.
Great advice thanks Mini, not that I'm thinking of drinking anything stronger than black coffee but yeh good to know.
One word says it all.....

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo !

does quantity of water really matter?

I think I drank less water last week than usual. My weight los was also less last week than it had previously been. I understand that we should not drink less than 2L per day on Lipotrim, but the range could be between 2 to 4 or even 5L.
My question is, is weight loss slowed down if you tend to drink just 2L per day?, or is wt. loss directly proprtional to amount of water drunk? Should I be aiming for 3L and above to increase my weight loss?

Cheers! thanks a lot ! Didnt know that mini. will be on water when I go out, i dont drink much, being diabetic but I do like the odd whisky lol.......;) Love soda water though.
I don't know the official answer but personally I'd want to wait just a little longer before consuming alcohol, just for my own peace of mind.

I'm sure someone will be along soon who can give you a better answer though.

Oh im so glad i read this!!

Thanks Mini xx
its just i am going on a stag weekend on 1st August!!!
i started the diet on 8th July and hoped to go until 25th then go onto refeeding in preparation of going away.
if this isnt enough time then i will probably go until 22nd as it will compete 2 weeks on and then refeed until 1st.
i then plan to go back on when i get back.
i know i shouldnt really go on and off it, but either i could have waited to start in august or start straight away and i thought the sooner i start the better!!
ahhh... scary stuff.. although like everything...

I went out 100% Ketotic 3 weeks into Lipotrim...

Ate a Burger King then went drinking (cousins birthday) haha I put 5lb on that night in fluid though but oh well had a laugh... but had no medical problems or bad turns.
can someone please answer to question there regarding drinking more water, does drinking more than 2litres help loose more weight?

Hi ya, I was told by my nutritionist that we used to drink 6 litres but they found people were retaining water so now it is only 2 to 3 litres a day. The important thing is that if you feel hungry that you drink because you are actually thirsty. But you definately need 2-3 litres, more if you exercise. If you reduce it too much you can no longer metabolise fat. hope that helps.
thank you.

Always welcome new m8's!
Lol this burst my sisters bubble!

Its her Bday on 25th september and now we know she will be drinking...water!

Thanks for posting, we wouldnt of known it was dangerous otherwise
