Eating out advise newbie help please?? xx

Hey everyone,

Was wondering if someone can shed some light for me on the eating out rule. Yeatserday I had jacket potato, salad and steak..the steak however come out on a sizziler plate and looked like it was swimming in oil or juices I don’t know..any way I asked for a sperate plate and dabbed my steak down with napkins until It looked dry I then cut the fat off. Now would people syn this or not? I don’t go to meetings so not sure what advise the consultant usually gives when I did WW they would say to add few points for oil I would have thought same with SW however when I asked on another forum everyone just said they never count the syns in steak when eating out as long as the fat is removed?? What would your advise be ??

I think you are right - I would allow some syns for the oil it was cooked in too :)
 
If you got most of it off then I wouldn't worry too much. The oil won't have penetrated the meat, so it would just be what was on the surface. Add a couple of syns, but don't stress about it.
