Elkays resurrected food diary

How do I manage on 20 points? With great difficulty it seems lately!! I haven't officially weighed in since I switched to W/W at the beginning of Dec. I intended to leave it a month as I am so slow at losing the lbs and then weekly - then Christmas came and so I have put my first official weigh in until the end of January when I hope to see a 5lb loss as I have committed to the January challenge!!

20 points allowed

Sunday 10th January

Breakfast

2 slices of toast = 2
Cheese triangle, low fat = 0.5

Lunch
None

Dinner (Toby again!) (no pudding though!)
Turkey slice = 1
2 small new potatoes = 1
cauliflower cheese, 1 sp = 1
cabbage = 0.5
peas = 1.5
stuffing balls x2 = 3
carrots = 0.5
gravy = 2

3 glasses wine = 6 :eek:
Half a lager = 1

Total = 20 points

Other drinks = black decaf coffee and diet coke


 
Ah right, that sounds like a plan then. Good luck with your first WI when it eventually comes round!

Looking good, I love looking at your lists! Really inspires me to be organised :)

I have picked up some of these low fat cheese triangles to try.. with ryvita? I'm quite looking forward to them, I haven't ever had triangles before!!!
 
Hi Jen - good to hear from you, thanks for popping in to look at my diary! The cheese triangles? Well, as you can see, I eat a lot! I think the reason I like them is that I don't eat butter or marg - haven't since I was 4 years old - but sometimes food is too dry without anything on it. I find the triangles easy to use because they are portioned, no excuse for overindulging!

Don't beat yourself up about the chocolates, it's not like you have 63 bars of galaxy a day!!! It was only 2, and you were only over by one for the day :) You're allowed a treat!

As for the cheeses, I had two on two ryvita. I think it was actually too much cheese, I could easy have just one over two ryvita... I wasnt expecting them to be so flavourful!!! Very much enjoyed it, will definitely be incorporating them more often. And yes, thats a good idea, instead of marg... Hmmm..... I shall try that!! :D

Saturday 16th January

20 point allowed:


Lunch:
2 slices bread = 2
1 low fat cheese triangle = 0.5
Salad = 0

Quavers = 1


Dinner:
2 egg omelete with 2 low fat cheese triangles = 4
Mushy peas = 1
1 slice bread = 1
Tomato sauce = 0.5

Evening out - 6 halves of lager = 6
Chicken tikka & salad = 6 (6 pieces of tikka)

Went out for the evening and ended up going for a curry at 2am. Eating at this time does not do my belly any favours so I opted for what I thought would upset up stomach the least and be best points-wise!)


Drinks, diet coke, black decaf coffee throughout the day.

Total point for the day = 22

Although I went over my points I had a brilliant night out and it could have been a lot worse. I shall hopefully claw back the 2 points next week.

Total points for the day = 22 :eek: - Another 2 points to claw back next week!

Really impressed with your curry denial! I wouldn't have been able to - I would have poppadums, naan, big curry, desert and beer so well done! Very inspirational!

One thing though, and I hate to say it, but I calculate Quavers to be 1.5 points (using the nutritional information on the packer and WW calculator). Just thought it better you know. :(

Just wanted to say I think you are doing Fab Hun!!! And I really wouldn't worry about your Saturday night out!!! So long as you enjoyed it, that is the main thing!!! And you only went 2 points over!!! When I go for a curry, I too choose Chicken Tikka pieces, it is a great choice points wise and I really enjoy it. I love reading your Diary! Goodluck with this months loss... I can't wait to see how you do!:cross:

leedeetee - thanks for the info re the Quavers - I've no idea where I got 1 point from!! Still worth 1.5 points though! I amazed myself when I chose the chicken tikka on Saturday night - usually I think 'to hell with it, I've had too many points anyway' and then just blow it - hence I lost track of points over Christmas! I am really trying to think of this as a long term way of eating and so I have to be able to incorporate the occasional unexpected treat now and again. The thing is, I lose the lbs very, very slowly! Hope you're doing OK and thanks for reading my diary.

Hi Vicky - thank you for your kind comments! I'm dreading weighing myself at the end of the month! I don't feel any thinner/lighter. If I manage 5lb I will be very pleased so fingers crossed and 12 days to go :eek:! If not, I shall have to make a concerted effort to do some exercise! Hope you are having a good week. 1 drinking chocolate made with one and a half spoonfuls so only = 0.5 (3 spoonfuls = 1 but I find this a bit thick)

Snack:
WW begal = 2
1 cheese triangle = 0.5

1 drinking choc using half measure = 0.5


Dinner:
Singapore chow mein = 7.5
Prawn crackers = 5

2 halves lager = 2
