    Is it just me or are they really poor quality???!!
    I bought 3 pairs of linen trousers and a selection of tops in my size (24) about 3 weeks ago to try and feel a bit better about myself, as you do.
    I've worn one pair once for a special occassion and looking back on photos of the day the trousers look a right state and no item has washed very well either.
    But one of the pairs of linen trousers has been worn for just over a week in total and they are wearing thin and a hole has appeared already!!! Shocking!
    I think I'm going to stick to ASDA for clothes, unless anyone has any better ideas? At least their clothes last a little bit longer and are half the price!
    Bring on the weight loss so I can shop in normal shops again...

    Take them back for a refund!
    Matalan does a limited range up to size 28 and are cheap but nice quality!

    I'd try..
    * New Look
    * Yours Clothing
    * ASDA
    * Tesco
    * Dorothy Perkins
    * www.asos.com (curves section)

    I hate, hate, hate, hate EVANS, think the quality is rubbish, they're a rip off and the clothes all seem to be designed around sacks. xxx

    I must admit I love Evans tshirts, usually nice and cheap and wash really well.

    My shop of choice has to be Next though :)

    Ah - I am old enough to remember the days when Evans clothes were well made, from really good materials. Days which are long gone!

    I have an Evans top which is about 25 years old. I cannot tell you how often I have worn it (it is one of those things which looks fine whatever size I am) and it just goes on and on.

    I gave up on Evans years ago - I don't even bother with their sales any more.

    I'm not a big fan of Evans, their trousers NEVER fit me and their tops are always far too short! I think Next have a nice range of plus size clothes online. xxx

    I agree, Next have a lovely range which are actually cut to suit bigger ladies instead of just being tent-shaped! I've also had some really nice bits from TU at Sainsburys and every now and then the Inspire section at New Look comes up trumps for me too.

    Ill double that, there tops are definately too short. Im very self consiouse about my big belly and as a plus sized clotes specialist, I dont think that there designs do us fuller figured lovelys any justice. I bought 2 cheep and cheerfull longline vest about a month back and theyv washed terably, they look quite dingy and they have shrunk in length... absolute tosh..:mad:

    Evans clothes are the same every year they don't even modernise the colours of their t shirts to go with current fashions!

    Got back from the school run this morning to realise another pair of trousers is looking bad too. :-(
    I agree about washing the clothes too, one of the tops seems to have shrunk and no longer covers my bum and I seemed to be tugging it down all the way there.
    I will check out NEXT online, I never think that they would do plus sizes, I think they only go up to size 20(?) in stores. I had forgotten about New Look too, I think I am going to have to go shopping again(!) and get some more clothes, but I will be avoiding Evans like the plague from now on.

    i also gave up shopping there a few years ago over priced and poor quality i would definatly dig out the receipt and go and return them for the price they charge you would expect them to last at least a season . You cant beat asda clothes far cheaper and better quality

    There is so much more choice available nowadays than when Evans first hit the high street. At the time, they were pretty much the only company catering to plus sized people, beyond that anyone big was generally seen in one of those shapeless nylon tent dress monstrosities (remember those?). So when they arrived, they gave bigger people a chance to dress nicely, and their stuff was usually pretty good quality. And accordingly pricey.

    But they are competing in a much bigger market nowadays, they need to rethink their suppliers and their customer base and vastly improve on their range, or they are going to go under along with all the other companies that have not survived the recession and internet shopping boom.

    They are planning to re brand and be called Daisy and Eve to try and appeal to younger market, the one in Blackpool has already changed its name.
    I love their jeans but only because they are the only ones that fit me, I can't wait to be a smaller size so I can try other shops.

    They really need to pull their fingers out if they want to appeal to a younger Market tho!!!

    I don't live in the U.K. but love the George a Asda range and Tesco's when I am in the U.K. and want reasonably priced clothes.

    The branch of Evans in Reading was Daisy and Eve for about three weeks last year, then they changed the name back again. It just confused everyone!!

    Not sure about the name change. Seems odd. Mind you I remember when they were called Evans outsize. Can't think why they changed that lol x
