Evans is for apples, Ann Harvey is for hourglasses, I am a pear!

Uncovering the real Me
I took the plunge with the tape measure today, and revealed my vital statistics to be (gulp) 48-43-55.

I then went and had a look at the size guides at the two main big-lady shops, and discovered that Evans reckon a size 24 will fit me in the bust and waist, but on the hip I need a 28. This explains why, whenever I try on trousers at Evans, if they are big enough for my bum, they are gaping at the waist.

Ann Harvey meanwhile reckon their size 20 :8855: will fit me on the bust, but I need a 22 on the waist, and 24 on the hip. That explains why Ann Harvey trousers seem to fit me better, but not why I needed a 26 yesterday!

The measurementsthat these two stores give for a size 24 are- Evans: 49-44-51
AH: 52.5-45.5-55

Leaving aside the fact that AH's sizes are just overall bigger - they are catering for radically different shapes. Evans will suit apples, whereas Ann Harvey are closer to a classic hourglass figure. And I'm neither.... More of a pear shape really.

Sigh. Back to the drawstring/elasticated waists to get something that vaguely fits.
