I decided to give up on the smoking too, so I had my last one 24 hours ago and now my body rewards me with a cold!

Yeh Im not happy and my weight seems to be plateauing. I understand intellectually all the reasons why this might be happening but its still doing my head in!

Im struggling with motivation right now - not just for the diet but all aspects of my life! I need a kick up the bum.

Any motivation quotes, stories, speeches welcome below...

Chick, I think you might be putti g your body under too much strain. A vlcd and no smoking all at once will mean that if you give up either because you're struggling then you'll feel really guilty and punish yourself. Change one thing at a time.

Weirdly, you might find your weight increases when you stop smoking because it is known to be an appetite suppressant (not relevant for vlcd I know but I can't remember the other impacts and how it affects weight!)

One thing at a time. I'm not suggestion you start smoking again, just that you realise that your body is protesting big time babe!!! Chin up!! Xx

At least you didn't nearly kill yourself with a cherry bakewell graze box.

The body can't take all the Lyns things that you're doing to it. Be patient though, It will sort itself out xx

yeh if I cant handle both, I will go a buy some cigs! Im going to see how I go, if I need to smoke tho, I hope Ill smoke less. I really cant afford to smoke any more tho, Im so poor!

I think it would be harder to quit smoking if I was still eating tho, because I really have a link to smoking and drinking. CD means no drink so fingers crossed!

Giving up smoking is a fantastic achievement. I did too, years back, and I know how hard it is. Be kind to yourself at this difficult time because you may well feel hungrier or - more likely - that you need something to fill the gap. Stay strong! You are doing your health a million favours by not smoking as you know. Soon you'll have the weight sorted, too. Good on ya!

Congrats on giving up food & smoking at the same time!!

Must be really tough, but if being overweight knocks 9 years off you life & smoking knocks 10-20 years off your life, then by doing this you'll have another 25 years at least with your family & friends!!!!
