One thing, though, if you do have to have an operation, I think I am right in saying you should not be on a VLCD (ie in ketosis) at the time of the op or in the lead up, tho' not sure how long before. May be best to check with your counsellor?
Happy New Year to you all
Have just read this thread and I to have gall stones The surgeon told me I have been put on the waiting list for surgery this was back in October.:sigh: I have had very bad bouts of pain, last night was one were i was in pain from 10 pm and managed to get to bed at 4am.:nightf:The pain can last anything from 1 hour to 12 hours I have been to A&E but by the time they get to see you (because they are so busy) the pain has almost gone and they say if it gets to painful then come back.:sigh: I had tests to see if it was gall stones first I had a camera down my throat then I had a scan the camera showed I have a hiatus hernia and the scan showed the gall stones. Still waiting for my surgery date,:sigh: Hope you get yours sorted soon:hug99:
Wow that is crazy...... I think if they left me waiting for that long I will go loopy
The time from my first attack to the date of the first op offered was about 9 months. Unfortunately, I had to cancel that operation.
I had a few attacks after that, but asked for another appointment for an operation in September. Evidently, they have an 18 week challenge now to complete treatment.
Seems that they found a spot for me in 16 weeks:clap: Much better than before.
Did you have constant pain though?? I think most people get "attacks" but mine seems to be constant...
I have gallstones and as you have all said the pain is EXCRUCIATING. I don't know why but i am too embarrassed to go to the doctors...i take 30/500 co codamol but often vomit them back with the pain. I am a fool.
I know, I know. I am just stupid when it comes to G.P's and the like. I always think they will find "something else" wrong too. I will just wait till the summer and see what that brings. ( Yes, i know, ridiculous)
But KD, get yourself to the docs,
