Heffalump to Slinky: Journey to Less of Me

Where are you :( xx

I'm BACK :D:D:D - We drove back from Germany and I ended up so jetlagged I could barely move, but nevermind, I had a lovely (if exhausting) time, the small part of Mannheim I saw was gorgeous and the Actors I was working with were too :p and over the 3 weeks I lost: three and a half pounds which takes me slightly further than my lovely new purple 3stone shiney.

Food was very, very difficult whilst I was away, but I was too busy to eat very much and I was actually, physically running, so I figure that got the balance of things for me, hurrah! I'm working again this weekend, but it's just in Birmingham and it's just 3 days, so I think I'll cope! Also all my colleagues there haven't seen me since november and said lovely, lovely things (and were dead supportive, too :D)

Red day today (and meeting mum in Yo!Sushi for tea :))

Breakfast
Not-quite-so-lovely Jam 1 Syn
Scan Bran Part HexB
Porridge Part HexB made up with
350ml Skim Milk HExA (drank balance)

Snack
Mango S Free

Lunch
Tomatoes S Free
Feta HexA

Dinner
Crayfish Salad Free (I checked it had no oil when I got it made up - it's just soy and vinegar that dresses it so \o/)
Miso Soup 6 syns
Spicy Chicken Salad 5 Syns
Coffee with Skim Milk 3Syns

Supper
Chicken Salad Free
Fibre Plus HExB

Which is effectively two dinners, but I was so HUNGRY when I got back home (went to Yo! with mum, went back to work, then home). I figured a chicken salad was better than mindless snacking.
Right, now I'm off to catch up with all you lovelies :D

Morning :D - had an interesting night last night; back in to do overtime with my day job, then the trains were distinctly not well on the way home, so I didn't get in until nearly 10pm! - then I had my other job stuff to do so... very Zzzzzzz today altogether. Never mind, I'm off tomorrow to do my other job in person until monday and then it's pretty much all quiet on that front until october.

Tonight I shall be mostly not packing (because I hate it, although I'm really very GOOD at it at this point, and fast, too) and laminating thing (so if I'm back on this evening and sound intoxicated I'm probably on a plastic high...). I'm trying to pack very light for my trip because I always take way too much and I really don't NEED to this time because it's such a short trip...I'll see if I can bear not to take the netbook with me (it's not like I'll have time to use the ruddy thing!)

Breakfast

Porridge Part HexB made up with
350ml Skim Milk HExA (drank balance)

Lunch

Dinner
Lamb Chops (marinaded in soy, deglazed with lemon in water) Free

Probably, anyway. It might change, but not by a lot, given the chops are currently defrosting! I have Syn-Free Beany chilli stuffed with veggies to take away with me in a food flask and eat on the journey and a plethora of mug-shots to cover me just in case things are difficult

Wenchie wooo where are you? x

Right, I'm back and I'm not doing anything else in the least little bit exciting for at least a month. Thank goodness! :D:D

Last weekend's given me the lurgy (although thank goodness it waited until all the events were done!) so I've mostly been sleeping since I got back, other than going to class where I lost THREE AND A HALF POUNDS. I'm delighted, especially given that my boss was physically pouring tequila down my throat on saturday (voluntary job, it's a bit of a peculiar working relationship) and it just went downhill from there. Not that I ate anything bad - the hotel's in the middle of nowhere and I'm too cheap for room service - and I barely managed to eat ANYTHING on sunday... never again! (Until october, anyway.)

I'm very, very pleased, given quite how many pictures of me have ended up all over facebook and videos with me in them are on youtube, that I've been doing as well as I have (I was doing a fair bit of escorting of people-who-are-limitedly-famous and I ended up in shot...people are a bit weird in what they want to film/photograph rather than just experience but I guess they get some kind of validation from it or something).

Right, today is a red day (and I badly need to go shopping!!)

Breakfast
Banana SFree (deeply not hungry, given lurgy, so I'm not forcing it)

Lunch
Chicken Free
Salad SFree

Snack
Smoked Salmon Free
Cottage Cheese Free
Mango SFree

Dinner
Tomatoes SFree
Feta 2* HExA

Supper
Options 2 Syns
2* Fibre Plus "* HExB

Not sure what else I'll have today, I guess I'll see what looks nice at the supermarket later on today.

I am Mrs. Sneezy today.... I wonder if I can count it towards body magic? It's certainly leaving me knackered, anyway!!

I'm wavering about what kind of day to have today, I've got some chicken in the office fridge, but I've also got a mugshot in my desk and I'm all blurgy and not terribly hungry and I may actually be out at our satellite site over lunch, anyway, in which case my choice is Mcdonalds (small fries 8.5, large DCoke and one of the salads without any bits on it) because there is literally nowhere else to eat unless I stand in the middle of the road...I'll see. I've only had fruit thus far so am day neutral anyway and I've got beany chilli in the fridge at home which has enough veggie stuff in it to be either green or EE. Mostly I just want to go home and lie on the couch watching Grand Designs (somehow Kevin McLoud makes me feel better) but (a)I can't and (b)it's not on until tonight anyway so I'll do some work instead :D

Breakfast
Mango SFree
Banana SFree

Snack
Skinny Latte HExA (actually about 300ml skim)

Lunch
Small McD's Fries 8.5 Syns
Diet Coke Free

Snack
LFSNoodles Free

Dinner
Beany Veggie Chilli Free (Lots of SFree)
and Cheese HExA

Supper
2* Fibre Plus 2*HExB

So, I was out at our satellite site over lunchtime - a mile walk there and back so I feel like I earned the chips (and really enjoyed them, weirdly) but I'm so not hungry AT ALL.

So I mostly spent the weekend lying on the couch feeling sorry for myself (or asleep) but I feel more human today (bar the incessant sneezing - can I count it as body magic do you think?!):character00264:

Didn't do too badly on the food front though:

Saturday (red):
Breakfast Chicken Salad Free w/80% SFree
Snack: 3* Mini babybel light HExA
Dinner: Chicken Curry Free w/80% SFree (and enough spice to make my head stream)
Supper: Options 2Syns, Fibre Plus HExB
(which leaves me low on syns and a HExA&B down, but given I had issues eating ANYTHING we'll call an it EE day and therefore a win)

Sunday (green):
Breakfast: LFSnoodles Free
Snack: Cherries SFree, Nairns Oaty snack thing 5Syns (&highly recc'd in the cheese flavour, at least)
Lunch: Cheesey Beans Free & HExA
Snack: LFSnoodles Free
Dinner: Savoury Rice Free, Roast tom, pepper & Feta frittata (YUM YUM YUM) Free with HExA
Supper Options 3Syns, Fibre Plus *2 2*HexB
(comfort food in abundance but all on plan at least, if a bit peculiar and heavy on the packets from batchelors)

Monday (red):
Breakfast:
Red Pepper, Spring Onion, Feta and Roast Tomato Frittata Free, with HExA

Snack
Costa Small Skinny Latte 5syns

Lunch
Turkey Chilli Pepperonata Free - 90% SFree
with Cheese HexA

Dinner
Soy Marinaded Lamb Chops Free
Salad S Free
Baby Corn S Free

The frittata's an adaption of Capricorn's recipe and is SUPER yum and super easy (and good cold). I suspect it will become a fixture (especially give it's day-neutral, so I can have it no matter what I decide I'm doing).

Well, last night's eating got all jerked around because I didn't get hungry until about 11pm, which wasn't ideal. So, I was as listed until lunch, then nothing until 11, then:

Snack
2*Fibre Plus bars 2*HExB

Dinner
Soy Marinaded Lamb Chop Free

Baby Corn S Free

Which was lovely, if a slightly odd time to eat anything. It didn't seem to affect my sleep though, which is nice.

I'm still all snotty, but I'm MUCH less sneezy which is lovely, and I'm slightly anxious as to what affect that (and not doing the slightest quantity of exercise this week) will have at the scales tonight, but there's not a lot I can do about it now so....

Breakfast
1tsp okayish jam 1syn (lovely jam coming back with parents from france \o/)
1 Scan bran part HExB
Porridge part HExB made up with
350ml Skim HexA (drank balance)

Snack
Mango

Lunch
Turkey Chilli Pepperonata Free - 90% SFree

I think dinner will be another lamb chop, but we'll see if I'm inspired at my meeting.

Hi hun!

sounds like you've had some good food days!
I can't believe how organised and planned you are (hello mug shots in your desk etcetc!)

I have not been so good.. not at all.. not been on plan all weekend.
wish this was an exageration :( going to get weighed tonight and not looking forward to it one bit :(

meh.

p.s. well done getting in the size 18 jeans! I am still not in them.. I bought a pair last week actually and can zip them up but they look AWFUL! I took a picture to prove this, which of course I will show when I actually fit in them properly!hahah! The only good thing about ill fitting clothes is the ability to compare them afterwards (see, I'm thinking positively :p)

Anyway, lots of luck for tonight! Glad I've found someone else who weighs on a Tuesday! GOOD LUCK!!! xxxx

So last night's dinner was a soy marinaded lamb chop with chinese veggies from the freezer and a tomato and wensleydale salad (HExA) with a fibreplus (HExB), Options (2syns) and a pack of Nairns onion bite things (5syns) for supper/afters (class was busy and ran very late indeed!).

Anyway, I can report another 2lbs gone :party0011: and I'm finally in the 14 bracket (I haven't been here in a very, very long time). We've security tube things at the entrance to work and only two of them are rated above 14 1/2stone, which is a right pain in the tonsils (as everyone who's heavier than that, or who has a heavy bag has to queue for them) - not long now until I can swan through the other ones :D. Only 2lbs to go until I hit 50lbs lost, which will be the most I've ever lost in one go (I got to 47 with WW a few years ago and then totally lost the plot) and is nominally half way for me (not that I've the slightest clue where I want to end up, I've just picked near the top of my BMI range because I am, genuinely, big boned underneath the wobble. I'll adjust when I get nearer and have a clue!) and only 8.5 to get under 200lbs! It all seems really close and doable :D (it seemed fairly like an unimaginable dream back in January!). Anyway, am waffling!

One of my colleagues from job 2 put up a whole bunch of pictures of us from the weekend before last on facebook and I've only got one extra chin now, not two! I really enjoyed looking at the pictures (and giggling like a loon) and didn't cringe in horror at any of them. I look, well, normal.

I'm out for dinner tonight with my BFF and his mum (I've been trying to find a menu for the place but they bizarrely don't seem to have a menu... I think they do a mixed grill thing which should do, or a surf and turf, as today's a red day. My bff is INCREDIBLY supportive so it'll be fine :D)

Ela ine *snugs* - welcome back... I'm not sure that I'm all that organised - I tend to just bring stuff into work and leave it there (and there's a mini tesco just down from us) but I've had that mugshot there for ages and it just makes me feel a bit more in control. I've alpen lights in there for the same reason... I may be a little bit crazy ;)

And whilst last night wasn't awesome for you, next week will be, right? (as will those jeans... and anyway it's all to do with the cut, sizing's so ruddy inconsistent!). You're totally right about the comparing thing (although I've really failed at getting my head around it, it's like I can't remember that I didn't used to fit into something at ALL, I just know that I don't quite fit into right properly now. I will though...and I'll get my head straight eventually!).

Okay, Red today.

Yesterdays food sounded scrummy -as always....
I hope you did a little :bliss: round the room about dropping into the new stone bracket
Things are really moving aren't they .... it does get easier to stay on track the longer you go doesn't it *lets hope that doesn't bite me on the bum :p*
I wish I could claim to be "big boned :p -but when I look back to when I was a child I was a tiny elfin little thing (until I hit school ) -So Im fairly sure I have a small frame :sigh:
One of my brothers though has medical proof that he IS big boned :p -he had scans and the Dr. couldn't believe how large and dense his bones are  ... he has great delight now in claiming "Im noot fat Im just big boned" :rotflmao:
Here is to another great week :cross:

wheeee I shall add you tonight Elaine :D I suck at facebook but I'm trying to use it more  - SW totes pwns WW, all that rubbishy points nonsense totally did my head in (it hardly promotes sensible eating habits, plus I LIKE cooking so SW absolutely suits me).

Capricorn - I absolutely did :D ! Our WI lady's very up on that kind of thing and clapped me, too, which was fun. I think the eating just feels more and more normal, it's less of a concious thing for me now to make the right choices and more just what I want (plus I tend to think That's totally not worth the syns. Pah with quite a lot of things that I used to eat a lot of) ...that and I feel so ill if I eat much in the way of processed wheat or fat and sugar just makes me demented! I've never been little (even when I had my one single year of being a skinny malink as a teen I wasn't little) and I'm broad backed, broad hipped and have broad wrists, so I'm comfortable that I'm not kidding myself with the big boned thing, but I am really so clueless about what I should be weighing (the only time I've been slim was when I was 14 and whilst I was my full height then I wasn't full grown and I don't know what I weighed anyway!) - I figure I'll work out when I don't look fat any more :D (and I know I'm maybe a little skewed on that, so I full intend to ask my mum for feedback!).

Right so, dinner last night ended up being:

Smoked Salmon Free,
Steak Free (LOVELY) with 2syns for any oil on the grill
Salad Free with 6syns for the dressing I asked not to have and then wiped off with a tomato.

It was a fun meal and good to catch up with people. Then I walked home (up the big hill which now isn't all that far and no longer reduces me to a huffing puffing mess) and decided that it was such a lovely night that I wasn't quite ready to be home yet so continued on up the hill a bit further (at a nice pace, too, it got my heart rate up and I felt fabby so yay). I had a fibre Plus HExB and milk HExA when I got in. I'd forgotten quite how much my sanity enjoys a wee solitary walk.

Today is lovely out, but I've missed my chance to get outside at lunchtime b/c I had to wait for a phone call :(, never mind, I shall go for a walk again tonight - I need to buy HExB apricots for tea!

Today is Duh duh Duuuuuuuh a Red day.

Holy MOLY dinner was lovely :D

I went for a walk up to the medium sized supermarket, which I don't tend to use because it's not as handy as the wee one and about the same distance as the really big one but I think I'll be going again! It's open until nine which is perfect for me after work, wasn't busy, has everything I need (as much as the big one does anyway) and I got LOADS of reduced meat and fish, including the free range chicken that's roasting in the oven right now (£1!). So, excercise, lovely evening walk, a zen shop AND bargains. Hurrah!

Then dinner which is 1/2HexB & Free on Red (or EE). Serves 2.

500g v lean pork mince
3 tbsp Raz el hanout (the dry spice mix)
71g dried apricots (actually I had 50g, which was fine) chopped
1 preserved lemon (my consultant says free, even if cooked)
1 medium butternut squash.

Cut the squash in half length wise and scoop out all the seeds, nuke facedown, half at a time, with a little water for 8 minutes a half. Drain any water off the squash and let steam dry.

Meanwhile dry fry the mince with half the spice mix, pour off any fat that appears then add the remaining spice, the apricots, lemon (chopped) and about 1/2 pt water. Bubble away until more or less dry.

Stuff the mince into the squash and cover with foil. Any extra mince mixture put into a small foil covered dish of its own.

Over at 190C for about 15minutes.

SO SO GOOD. I could eat it until the end of time :D

I am still in raptures over last night's dinner - I'll see how it works as a nuked reheat tonight!

I figure it could be pretty easily stretched to four on EE with some couscous and might be nice with some raisins, too (for four I'd maybe use a HEx of each?)

Anyway, it is pouring today, grr, but I've got lovely fresh-roasted chicken in my salad today and the best dinner ever for tonight and it's the weekend so I shall just be happy anyway :D.

Red day (surprise, surprise :flirt2:, I need to do a green over the weekend but I'm not sure when. Tommorrow maybe then I can cook up loads whilst I'm all carbed over...it's due to be soggy again so that might well work. I want to eat all my remaining batchelors things up and not get any more: too many additives, too much processed wheat.)

Morning Lovely

The Moroccan spices sound nice -but I would ahve to skip the apricots -much as I love em , I have reall issues with fruit n meat together ....
What a bargain with the chuckaloo  -I do Love a nice chicken dindins :eating:

Its freaky what you say about the high fibre bars being to sweet -I found the same with the fibre plus bars -to start with I loved em but then I found them more n more sickly, I haven't had one for months now - and really don't miss them.... ooooooh do you think we are going to become health nuts ???? :giggle:

I agree with what you say about waiting to see what you look like as you lose weight, I was talking to someone today (asking me for weight loss advice :rotflmao:) and she is my height and 11st -now I thought "well if I look like that when I hit 11st I will be happy" but then I realised "would I?" I mean I don't know what my frame is-although Im fairly sure its small  - but perhaps if I was 11st I might still think I need to lose a bit more or tone up more...
I always used to think that I would be happy at anything less than the bloody weight I started at :p -its only as I get closer that I realise that I want to be the healthiest shape/size I can be,

cor hark at me waffling on... hope you have a lovely day mrs.. and keep up the great work:D

Hello :). The spice mixture would be okay on its own with pork I think - I don't actually know exactly what's in it as it's from Morroco (my parents brought it back) and just calls itself 37spice mixture, but there's something hot in there, cumin and cinnamon definitely and it smells similar to Raz el hanout so :D. I must try it rubbed onto a loin or something.

I was WELL chuffed with the chicken - I feel kind of guilty just roasting it and having it for salad usually but not for a £1 :D:D

I'm finding more and more things just taste too fakely sweet for me - I'm sure I'd find even more things did if I gave up diet coke, too (which I really need to), I like my fibreplus for supper at the moment but I can definitely see me ending up not liking them, too. Ha! It'd be quite nice to be a health nut I think, can you imagine!

I realise that I want to be the healthiest shape/size I can be,
Yes, this totally totally this - I'm really enjoying the things that my body can now do without too much work and I want to keep on developing that... I've not the slightest clue what weight or size that'll be at!

Come and waffle any time you want sweets!

Have a lovely day :D

good morning lovelies :D! I don't know what it is about the weekend that means I don't come on here, it's not like I was actually doing anything very much this weekend... ah well!

Saturday was a green day, with a great deal too many LF SNoodles (but I've now got none left and I'm not buying any more so... just the savoury rice and pasta in sauce to go and some of those will be going to the slimmer of the week basket), and it was also wet and miserable so too many carbs and a catch up on Game of Thrones (I've got 5 episodes left to watch, but I'm quite enjoying it thus far - it's very pretty and the soundtrack's good :)) was really what the doctor ordered!

Yesterday I was back on red and I tried having some beans as one of my Bs - you were right Capricorn, you get LOADS! - and I made a grilled trout and bean salad with some lemon and soy sauce and spring onions scissored through it which was really nice and super quick and I had chilli with some synned rice for tea. All in all, very nice and a change from chicken salad :D that said, today is a red day and:

Wheee! I nearly forgot!

I was wandering around morrisons on friday and I got a text from one of my friends from job number 2, asking was it SW I went to and would I reccomend it. Turns out she's so impressed with how well I'm doing and how easy I make it look that she's going to sign up this week! :D I'm pleased as punch for her and dead proud of me, too :D
