Hello,
I've never really been on a proper "diet" before, just tried to cut down, count calories etc. and it hasn't worked properly, so have just started Slimming World. I'm 4 days in and really enjoying it so far, but I don't really have the time or money to join officially. I've bought the starter back, food optimising book etc on ebay, but thought I would join the forum as it might help to get some support that I may miss out on from the groups.

Well done on starting! I was in exactly the same position as you and did the same with the book on eBay. It's really easy so I'm sure you'll love it. One thing I'd say as I didn't really get it from the book alone, if you're doing EE it's important to have 1/3 superfree with every meal. And some stuff that you think would be superfree (like peas!) aren't. Read the book carefully and make sure to keep track of Syns and you'll be fine!

ooh yes, thanks for the tip about 1/3 of my plate being superfree, I didn't quite catch that from the book, but luckily I do tend to eat a lot of salad with my meal so I think I was doing all right anyway!
I've been glued to my book since I got it, keep checking and re-checking everthing, haha, but hopefully soon it will become second nature and I won't have to keep consulting the book! :D
 
Hello and welcome, I'm the same as goingtobeskinnysoon, some of the stuff you thought would be free isn't and it is confusing int he beginning. Sure we'll all get teh hang of it over time! good luck! x
